The expedition members looked at each other. Maggie Garland had a skeptical look at what she thought was a paranoid access, but Jack, who guessed her thoughts, warned her.

“Selma does not suffer from delusions but has powers of clairvoyance. We have had plenty of chances to check them in the near past."

Dennis stood up, took an iron in his hands and said softly.

“I'm going to walk around. Jack, stay here to take care of the camp.

“I´m going with you.” Garland's voice rang unexpectedly and Dieter tried to stop it.

“Let me do it, I'll go with Dennis."

Without answering a word the English pulled out an unsuspected gun from one of the pockets of her trousers and approached the man who was already leaving. Both carried lanterns to guide themselves in the thick darkness.
