Chapter 27
The coordinates provided by the baron's diary marked an accumulation rocks in front of them. The position of the star that Selma had pointed out the night before coincided with that location. The fact that the data matched reinforced a feeling of success for having reached the goal that overwhelmed the travelers. That night only the Tibetan guides and Selma could sleep, the first because they hardly knew the purposes of the expedition, in their eyes only another extravagance of wealthy foreigners who did not need to work to earn their livelihood. As for the girl, she slept peacefully after the effort of concentration and of climbing of the mountain. The rest of the contingent remained awake despite themselves and the rays of the sun that emerged over the eastern summits found them drowsy and anxious.
