Part XIX: Moon's Plot

Morning came and everyone was outside.

"It is nice meeting you, Sun-sama. Till next time." Meishu told Sun.

"The honor is mine, Lord Meishu." Sun replied.

"Well then, the carriage will bring you to the port of Kandainos. It is an honor to be the host." Catacius replied.

"Father, can I come too?" Catalia asked him.

"Sure. You may." Catacius told him.

They all boarded the carriage and went to Kandainos. After less than an hour they arrived at the port of Kandainos. Gabriel and his friends are waiting for them at the port.

"Good morning, Master." They greeted him.

"Good morning, everyone." He replied.

They bid their farewells and boarded their ship.

"Goodbye, Catalia!" Gabriel shouted from the deck.

"Goodbye, Gabriel!" Catalia shouted as she watched the ship to drop it sails and sail away.

Meanwhile, Moon with her allies are having a meeting at the Moon Realm's capital.

"I have decided to invade the Sun Empire for good." Moon told them.

"What can we receive from helping you invade the Sun Empire?" King Yamike of the Troll Kingdom of Trionolia asked her.

"We will share in the spoils of war. Those territories you conquered will be yours." Moon told them proudly.

"Take it slow. We tried that in the past and we utterly failed." Chief Ughorim of the Orc Clan replied.

"I have a plan! With this plan we can assure a great victory!" Moon told them proudly and laughed.

"Let's hear it then." Yamike replied.

"Since the Orc Clan is beside the northern portions of the Sun Empire. They will take the northern parts. They will mount a surprise attack from Fomalhaut and Procyon. The Troll Kingdom will take Pollux, Altair and Hadar. While my forces will take Deneb and Rigel." She told them while pointing on the map.

"That isn't a plan. It is actually part of a plan." Ughorim told her.

"How dare you?! Can you give us a plan greater than this?" Moon shouted at Ughorim and asked him.

"What if we mount a full force surprise attack on Deneb and Rigel. After a successful attack in Deneb the forces there will split and march to Hadar and Altair while Rigel forces will split and march to Betelgeuse and Capella?" Ughorim told her.

"Are you an idiot? If we do that they will have time to regroup at mount an attack we can't take hold." Moon told him.

"What if we march through the Farlands and take Ryoichi then head straight to Taiyou?" Yamike told them.

"Are you kidding me? Marching through the Farlands? You are dumber than him. If we march through the Farlands that would take us months to complete and marching straight to the capital is charging against the wall. They maybe reckless but they are not as idiot as you are." Moon asked him while she was laughing.

"Well. I am out of this." Yamike told her and stood up but she pointed a sword at him.

"Are you sure about that?" Moon asked her.

"I-I am just kidding." Yamike replied as he sat down on his chair and Moon put her sword on her scabbard.

"Well then, our plan is to attack the outer regions and dig deep on enemy lines." Moon told them.

"Yes, Your Majesty." They replied.

"Very good. We will execute our plan in two weeks." Moon told them.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." They replied.

"Well then, you are dismissed." Moon told them and she left the room.

Moon went to the Royal Military Headquarters in their capital of Tsuki City. She went to Soil who was busy inspecting the weapons from their weapon forges of Lune d'eau, Casfordia, Marland and Calme. The island territories of Moon Realm.

"Soil. Prepare the army. We will have a full-scale invasion of the Sun Empire." Moon told her.

"Wh-what? We recently lost a war and we will declare a war again?" Soil asked her.

"Yes. Assemble the first Army, then send a mobilization letter to the commander of twenty-fourth Army stationed in Crafford, second Army stationed in Maliton and third Army stationed in Flokburh. After that, call a chief of staff meeting at 17:00." Moon ordered her.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." Soil replied and Moon went away.

After a few hours, Moon met her chiefs of staff.

"I summoned everyone because I have a magnificent plan! We will invade Sun Empire by surprise and wipe them out for good!" Moon told them.

"Your Majesty, we did these many times. We still didn't reap any rewards but we only get a bitter taste of our plans." General Glass stated.

"Shut up. Your place is the navy not the army." Moon told him.

"What is your plan, Your Majesty?" General Stone asked her as his grey eyes looked at her.

"Well. Our army will mount a surprise attack on Rigel and Deneb. Orcs will mount an attack on Fomalhaut and Procyon. Trolls will attack Pollux, Altair, and Hadar. We will focus on Rigel and Deneb since it is the target of our army." Moon told them.

"Your Majesty, our greatest obstacle is the mountain ranges that spans from Komizu in Rigel to Kikama in Hadar." General Stone pointed out.

"There was an old rail system that supplies the now Cornerstone Margrave from Deneb and there was a pass in Nobomyard that passes through the lower parts of Rigel. Do you think we have more obstacles?" Moon told them some key points as she pointed it out on the map in front of them and asked them.

"Our mage corps can help in securing the path." Headmaster Leaf stated them while his green eyes sparkled.

"Hold your horses. I have a special task for you. As of now, I told the Orc Chief and Troll King that they have two weeks to prepare." Moon told them.

"T-two weeks?! Do you think the army can the army prepare that fast?" General Stone asked her.

"As far as I remember, the last major battle that we fought was the Battle of Waresfield which was last month. With that duration, I expected that your competent performance recuperated the casualties of that battle." Moon told him as her red eyes sharpened.

"I-I can explain. T-the ammo supply was running low because of the tsunami that hit Marland factory. It crippled our production exponentially. I-I want you to reconsider the time, Your Majesty." He stated as his eyes were wide open in shock.

"I will give you an additional three days to prepare. So, in total, you have two weeks and three days to prepare. Soil, send a message to Bramle. Tell them that we are buying weapons." Moon told him and ordered Soil.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." They replied.

"Headmaster Leaf, create a mage brigade from the top mages in the Royal Mage Department. Cavalry Chief Hooves, form an elite order of knights based on the merits they received. The elite order contains a hundred knights. Train them with the harshest training suited for an elite knight. I will give you a month to train them. Artillery General Smoke, prepare our newly developed cannon. It will help us on sieges." Moon ordered them.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." They replied.

"Well then, you got your orders. You are dismissed." She told them.

"Thank you, Your Majesty." They replied.

The next day, Sun arrived in the capital and headed to the palace.

"This is very exhilarating." Moon told herself as she looked at the map.

"Welcome to the palace." Sun told Gab and his friends.

"Woah. It's way larger than Warhambre manor." Bryan stated as he was amazed by the beauty and elegance of Solar Palace in the capital city of Taiyou.

"Gabriel, we will go to the naval academy later to fix your papers so you will be ready to study for the incoming year. The four of you, will stay here as part of my personally picked group. You will stay in that building near the dojo." Sun told them.

"Yes, Master." They replied.

"Well then, for now, you may rest. They prepared a room for you. I sent a letter two day prior so I expected that they will be ready." Sun told them.

"Thank you, Master." They replied.

"If you'll excuse me." Sun told them as he went away.

"We are very lucky." Charles told them.

"We are going to live in this large and elegant palace! It will be the happiest part of my life." Andrew told them.

"Let's go inside." Berchard told them and they went on.

Meanwhile, Yamike and his chiefs are talking in the Capital city of Yamike.

"I summoned the council of twelve chiefs because I have an announcement. We are given two weeks by the Moon Realm to prepare for an invasion of the Sun Empire." Yamike told his chiefs.

"T-two weeks?!" Hamedi, Lord of Nabar, shouted in surprise.

"I guess it would be a long enough for us. We didn't fight a battle for over two months." Yamike told them.

"I agree." Yetu, Lord of Bildia, replied.

"Zultajas, Lord of Kokicho, prepare the Kokicho Headhunting Corps. Nyabingi, Lord of Ixcocan prepare the Ixcocan Mace Corps. Reji, Lord of Terakarion, prepare the Terakarion Artillery Corps. I will prepare the Yamike Cavalry Corps and the Vivid Order. The rest will be assigned to protect the Kingdom from external attacks." Yamike ordered them.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." They replied.

"We are assigned to attack three margraves of the Sun Empire. Which is the Pollux, Altair, and Hadar Margraves. Hadar Margrave is an easy win for us because it's borders are mountainous in which we excel. By mounting a surprise attack, we can easily capture Kikama City and Kyomi City. Our problem is Pollux and Altair. Their defenses are beyond normal." Yamike pointed out.

"Your Majesty, If I may be allowed to speak. I suggest that after taking Kikama, we will split the army in to corps that will mount an attack on Kyomi City of Hadar Margrave and Okumisawa City of Altair Margrave. I heard that Okumisawa have large depots of weaponry. Then another army will take Fugo city and head straight to Ihoyo City." Ayargajin, Lord of Irun, told them.

"Lord Ayargajin, with all due respect, taking Ihoyo City is like banging yourself in to a wall. That city is well fortified. We can't afford too much casualties." Hyptu, Lord of Soburia, told them.

"Do we have problems with fortified cities? We can just bomb them. After taking Okumisawa City, we will take their bomb depots and rendezvous with the forces in Fugo City and bombard Ihoyo City. Altair Clan's army will collapse if we took Ihoyo City." Ayargajin told them.

"What about the Pollux Margrave?" Vayambe, Lord of Atrinh, asked them.

"Pollux Margrave is gullible than Hadar and Altair. We can talk about it next time." Hyptu told them.

"I agree with Lord Hyptu. The Pollux Margrave is quite lame compare to the others in our target. Operation Insertion will take effect in two weeks. The objectives will be the taking of Kikama and Kyomi." Yamike told them as he pointed out their objectives.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." They replied.

"Well then, the meeting adjourned." Yamike told them and left the room.

After leaving the room, he met his son Prince Troljarbir as he was on his way to warthog stables.

"Son, come here." Yamike called him.

"Yes, father?" Troljarbir asked.

"We are going to mount a surprise attack on Sun Empire. Ready the Vivid Order. I will meet them later." Yamike ordered his son.

"F-father? Are you serious? Even our strongest ally, the Moon Realm, never stood a chance against them. How can we expect a victory from an empire that as big as a continent?" Troljarbir asked him.

"Son, no one fights a war with an intention of losing it. Wars are fought by sweat of brows, strength of backs and power of brains. Do as I say. I will meet them later." Yamike replied, ordered and went away.

"As you wish father." Troljarbir replied.

Meanwhile, the orcs are struggling to think of a strategy against the Sun Empire.

"The Moon Queen gave us 2 weeks to prepare for an invasion of the Sun Empire. We are assigned to take the Fomalhaut and Procyon." Chief Ughorim told them.

"It is quite easy for us." Warchief Dakgrug replied.

"Quite easy because of the distance. When it comes to forces we are outnumbered." Warchief Sorgulg told him.

"We will attack them by surprise so they won't have time to scramble their defenses." Warchief Dakgrug replied.

"I have no intention of losing a war." Warchief Sorgulg.

"So, do I." Warchief Dakgrug replied.

"My plan is to take Tsuhate City in Fomalhaut and Zimins City in Procyon. Then split the army in to forces that will invade Ruthanda and Fomalhaut. While the forces at Zimins will split to invade Shinoheto and Procyon." Chief Ughorim told them.

"We can't do that, Chief. We don't have enough manpower to do that. Our western front will be under heavy stress." Warchief Ysagubar told him.

"How is the battle on our western front?" Ughorim asked him.

"Our forces in the western front are still repelling an invasion from Stoicheionese Federation." Warchief Ysagubar told him.

"That is another problem. Since we are under heavy circumstances. Let's take the Fomalhaut then head straight to Procyon. We will ask for assistance from the Moon Queen." Ughorim told them.

"As you wish, Chief." They replied.

"Well then, let's prepare our remaining forces. The meeting is adjourned." Chief Ughorim told them.
