Kidnapping of a VIP

Outside of Los Angeles County in the hills, Gudmund and Ashton arrive at a cabin. "Isn't this Sigmund's cabin?" Ashton asks.

"Yeah," Gudmund answers as the two get out of the car.

The two then enter the cabin and see all of the furniture is still covered with white sheets. "When the last time someone used this? There is dust all over the place."

"The day we learned that Trine was going to have a baby. It was the last time our whole family was together. It was a very happy moment as the two been trying to have a child."

Ashton walks by the fireplace and looks at the photos on the mantle. "Still kept these here?"

"Yeah, we didn't want to move them out at all. After they died, we didn't know if we should come up here. Mom and dad couldn't bring themselves to set foot in the cabin."

"What about Irene?"

Gudmund picks up a toy that was laying on the floor, "She came with me once to check the place out. Once we got here, she froze and couldn't get closer." He set the toy bear on a rocking chair also covered in a sheet. "Come on, let's search the place."

Gudmund goes upstairs to look around, while Ashton looks around the main floor. Gudmund walks down the hall and stops before a room. The door was open, and it's a nursery, which is next to the master bedroom. Gudmund walks into the room and sees the crib. He looks on the wall, and it has a name that reads 'Ulrich Sigurd Thoresen.'

"Gudmund," Ashton calls out and enters the room. "I found Sigmund's office," he looks around. "So, this was going to be the nursery for their baby."

"Yep, they built this right away when they found out they were going to have a boy. They got right to work and picked a name."

Ashton walks by a rocking chair and notices something. "Gudmund, are you sure no one's been here for four years?"

Gudmund looks at his partner. "Yeah, why?" He walks by Ashton.

"Look at the floor by this chair. Notice how there's a space between the leg and the dust. It's like it got moved not too long ago."

Gudmund looks around the room, taking it in. "You know what, and there is less dust in this room. It's like someone has been in here before us."

"Maybe that mystery guy on the phone was here?" Ashton says and walks to the closet. He opens the door and looks down at the floor. He notices some markings on the floor. "I think there's a door in the back of the closet."

Gudmund knocks on the wall in the back of the closet and notices it's hollow. He pulls out his swiss army knife and starts to cut the wallpaper in the corner. He pulls the paperback and sees a handle. He slides the hidden door to the side and sees a small space. In the space is a metal box, and he picks it up. He opens the box and sees a flash drive and a note.

He looks at the note and sees that Sigmund wrote it. "Looks like Sigmund left behind something that he didn't grab in time."

"What does the note say?" Ashton asks.

"It's in Norwegian, and it says, 'Dear my brother and sister. If you are reading this, you found the evidence that I left you both. But this isn't all of it; there are more hidden away. Soon, you guys will get all of the evidence you'll need to capture Klaus. I wish you and your team good luck. I love you both very much, your brother Sigmund.'"

"So, Sigmund planed everything out like he knew he was going to die," Ashton says.

"But what if he isn't dead?" Gudmund asks, and Ashton looks at him, clearly confused.

"What are you talking about? We saw their corpses, and we buried them."

"I know, but if he believed he was going to be killed, then why didn't he plan on how to stay alive? He was given five leadership decorations back in the army. He was great at planning and was awarded ten times for that."

"But if he is alive, where is he, and what did we put in the ground?"

Gudmund grabs his cell and presses number six for speed dial. "Hello," greets a woman on the other line.

"Irene, I am at the cabin, and I found something that you need to look at. It's a message from Sigmund."

"Why did you go up to the cabin?" Irene asks.

"I got a call from some unknown guy the other night. He told me where to find the evidence that we needed on Klaus. Evidence that was destroyed back when Sigmund and Trine died. I'll email them to you once I have Maisie look over them. I'll text you a photo of the note he wrote also. We both need to do this, and I know you can't deal with the pain, but you got to do this for our big brother." Irene didn't answer, but Gudmund knows that she is still there. "I believe he is alive, too."

"Why would you say that?" Irene asks.

"Because the cabin feels like it has been used after they died. It has to be them, or someone's been coming here."

"It could be Klaus; he might think that Sigmund got copies of his crimes."

Gudmund isn't happy with the way his little sister is talking. "Look, Sigmund wrote this letter for the both of us, and we are going to do this together. I am sure that mom and dad would want us to as well. Don't you want to bring Klaus down for good? I saw Klaus again a week ago. Now, are you going to grant our big brother his wish or not?"

Gudmund doesn't hear anything for a minute until Irene sighs, "Fine, just have Maisie send what she finds to Gabriel, and then I'll look at it. But you know this will hurt a lot."

"I know, and I am hoping that we can just capture Klaus and lock him away for life."

"And if Sigmund is really dead, we have to live with that. Are you going to look in their grave?"

Gudmund hadn't thought of that. "No, not yet unless I get some clues that point to needing to. And we shouldn't tell mom and dad about this, but we can call cousin Hakon. Having an off-shore contact would be a good idea."

"Ok, talk to you later, big brother, and be safe," Irene ends the call.

Gudmund hangs up and turns to his partner. "What now?" Ashton asks.

"We head back and find out what on this flash drive," Gudmund answers.

At Astrid's school, Juliana Fischer and her best friend are walking out of the school. "We've been here a week, and we got more homework," Juliana says. She has long brown hair, tan skin, and a thin body.

"You know that our school has homework all the time, it's a way to make us study hard. Plus, we both are smart; we can get these done fast," Astrid says. "Do you have tennis practice today?"

"No, not until tomorrow after school. Today I don't have any afterschool practice. What about you? Do you have karate or soccer?"

"Nope, how about we go to my house and work on our homework together?" Astrid suggests.

Juliana thinks for a moment, "Ok, and how about this weekend, we go golfing. We haven't done that since summer started. We were only able to play once, and then you went on your trip with your family."

"Deal," she agrees, and the girls start down the sidewalk to head home.

On their way home, they see a fellow classmate walking on the other side of the street. "Hey, it's Sakura Misaka," Juliana says. The girls call out to their friend, and she waves back to them.

Then, a huge white FSC Lublin van stops, and two men grab Sakura. She starts to scream.

"Sakura," Astrid and Juliana call out.

"Juliana, call the police and your dad," Astrid says, and Juliana pulls out her cell. Astrid pulls out her cell phone, gets the camera ready, and starts to film. She manages to capture the van and the two men trying to get Sakura into the van. She stops the camera and calls her dad.

Gudmund and Ashton arrive back in Long Beach. His cell rings, and he looks at it. He sees it's his daughter and answers. "Hey sweetie, how was school?"

"My classmate Sakura Misaka is getting kidnapped," Astrid says quickly, scared.

"Where are you?" Gudmund asks, worried about his daughter.

"A block from school on the corner of Monrovia Ave and E Broadway," she answers.

"I'll call Maisie to get your GPS location. Are you alone?"

"Juliana is calling the police and her dad right now," she says.

"Ok, you girls, wait for a squad car to come and pick you both up at school. Get back to school and wait."

"Ok," she says and hangs up, seeing the van pull away at high speed. "Sakura," she calls after her.

Juliana runs up to Astrid. "I called the police and my dad telling them what happened."

"Ok, my dad says we should wait back at the school," Astrid says. She sends the video to her dad's cell and to Maisie so they can see what the van looks like.

Gudmund receives the text and has Ashton look at it. "Gudmund, your daughter is good; she got the video of the van and the men kidnapping Sakura."

"Does it have a license plate?"

"No, but it's a white FSC Lublin; it looks like it has a big dent in the driver side over the back tire." Ashton sees the van drive through the red light, "There it is!"

Gudmund turns on his siren and starts to go after the van. The driver of the van sees Gudmund's car. "Damn it, a cop," the man murmurs and speeds up.

"You people won't get away with kidnapping me," says Sakura.

"Shut that girl up and keep her quiet," the driver says, and the other man tapes Sakura's mouth closed.

Gudmund sees the van turn around the corner, and he follows closely. "Ashton, call for backup and tell them where we are," he says.

Ashton grabs the radio, "This is Lieutenant Watson, and we are in pursuit of some kidnappers. They are driving north on E Broadway in a white FSC Lublin van. Now driving west on Belmont Ave," Ashton says and sees the van turn north again on E 2nd Street. "Now north E 2nd Street, I want all roads blocked and try and get them to head for the beach. The child that got kidnapped is Sakura Misaka, the daughter of Judge Daisuke Misaka."

Just as Gudmund nears the van, a huge truck runs in front of his car, and they lose the van. Gudmund and Ashton get out of the car, and Gudmund calls Maisie, "Maisie, I lost the van. Did you get it on the traffic cam?"

"I found it a couple of times, but I keep losing the van," she answers.

At the school, Derek arrives and runs to the girls as they are with a cop.

Juliana sees her dad. "Dad," she calls out and hugs him as he reached her. Derek holds his daughter tightly. He also gives Astrid a hug, too, as he is glad they are alright.

"I'll take it from here," he says to the officer. "You girls ok?" he asks.

"Yeah, we are fine," Juliana answers.

"Did my dad find Sakura?" Astrid asks.

"Sorry, they just lost the van. I told him I'd bring you, girls, to headquarters," Derek answers and leads the girls to his black Honda.

Later at pINPOINt HQ, Aurora gives her daughter a big hug, glad she is alright. Juliana's mom, Hazel, also gives her a big hug. Gudmund has the girls sit on the couch to explain what happened. "We were walking down the street to head home," Astrid starts.

"I saw Sakura. We waved to her, and she waved back. It looked like she was about to cross the street to greet us until this white van stopped by her."

"Two men got out of the car, grabbed her, and started to force her into the van. I tried to get a photo of the man so you can try and ID him," Astrid says, showing her cell.

"Then we call the police and you guys," Juliana finishes.

Then, the judge and his wife enter the room. "Gudmund, is it true my daughter got kidnapped?" he asks.

"I am very sorry, Daisuke, Hanako," Gudmund says, and Hanako starts to cry. Nozomi goes to comfort her and sits her in a chair. Aurora and Hazel approach her as well.

"Why would anyone want to kidnap my daughter?" Daisuke asks.

"We aren't sure, but could be paid back to you for throwing someone in prison," Gudmund answers.

"Daisuke, have you gotten any threats from anyone that might want to harm your family?" Ashton asks.

Daisuke thinks aloud, "I am not sure. All letters sent to me goes to my office assistant. If I had gotten any threatening letters, she would have told me."

"What about home? Gotten any mail that was from some unknown person?" Derek asks.

Hanako looks up at her husband, who looks at her. Daisuke looks back at Gudmund. "Yes, but it was just one letter."

"That one letter could help us," Gudmund says.

"Did anyone send an email to you after you got the letter?" Elena asks.

Daisuke nods.

"We need to see it," Gudmund requests.

Maisie has Daisuke log on, and the email the judge received appears on the monitor. He opens the email and shows the writing in Swedish. "I don't know what it says."

"I do," Derek says and starts to read the email. "Judge Daisuke Misaka, let our boss free, or we will take your loved one away. And," Derek didn't finish reading, as another email arrived from the same address.

Maisie opens the new email. It includes a video, and Maisie clicks 'Play' on it. A man appears, and he looks right at the camera. "Judge Misaka, I am Kurt Gustafsson, and I believe you know my brother, Nils Gustafsson. Now, I want you to set him free from prison, and I'll give you back your daughter. If you don't, she'll be going to another country to live with a different family. You have forty-eight hours until the deal is off. I'll send you a number you can call me at to decide where we'll meet up." The video ends, and Maisie starts to figure out where the email came from.

"Daisuke, didn't you put Nils Gustafsson away for life?" Gudmund asks.

"Yes, and that was three years ago."

"Maisie, did you find the link where that email came from?" Gudmund asks.

She shakes her head in defeat. "Sorry, boss, but I believe I found the van we were looking for," Maisie says.

"Good." Gudmund turns to Derek. "Derek, you and Chelsea will go and check out the van. There are bound to be clues that will tell the whereabouts of Sakura." He turns to Ashton and Elena, "You two will go and have a chat with Nils to find out where his brother could be hiding."

Aurora walks up to Gudmund, and he looks at her, "Is there anything you want me to do?"

Gudmund looks at the girls and then his wife, "You and Hazel take the girls back to our house." He then realizes Ryan isn't with them. "Where's Ryan?"

"He is at my mother's. I can go and pick him up," she answers.

"Ok, go pick him up, and you all head to our house," Gudmund says, looking at the judge and his wife. "Oh, and take Daisuke and Hanako to our house as well. I'll get someone from LBPD to stay at the house to watch you all."

"But what if the kidnapper calls my house?" Daisuke asks.

"Maisie will direct the calls from your house to my house. Once they do, we'll trace the call and get them. We'll bring your daughter back home safely."

At the kidnapper's van, Derek and Chelsea are already looking through it. Chelsea is looking around the front seats of the van. She looks under the driver's seat, sees a piece of paper, and extracts it. She opens it and sees what looks like a plan. "Derek, look at this," she hands the paper to Derek.

"Looks like they've been keeping tabs on the judge's family. This tells when Sakura gets out of school and where it is. It even tells the route she takes when leaving school."

"It also tells what Hanako does and the route she takes to and from work."

"Call LBPD and tell them to pick up the van, and we'll take it to get it fully look over. Also, we'll get this fingerprinted to see who else touched it. If we can find one of the kidnappers, they can tell us where to find Kurt and then Sakura."

"Got it," Chelsea grabs her cell and starts to call for the CSU.

At the prison holding Nils Gustafsson, Ashton and Elena face Nils. Nils is sitting at the table in a room, looking at the two. "So, what brings you two here?" he asks, smirking.

"I am sure you know why we are here," Ashton says. "Tell us where we can find your brother, so we can save a girl he kidnapped."

"Like I would tell you where to find the girl," Nils turns away from the two.

"Tell us where your brother might be hiding the girl he kidnapped," Elena demands again.

Nils snickers and looks at the two. "Tell the judge he better be careful next time than when locking someone up for life." He raises an eyebrow, "If you do something for me, I'll help hand over my younger brother."

"What do you want then?" Ashton asks.

"I want a new cell, a private cell where I can have someone give me the best food. Like a cook who cooks at one of the finest restaurants in the state. And maybe some supermodel that can please me."

"Those are stupid reasons, and if we give you nice treatment, then the other inmates here will want your head," Ashton says.

"Then protection from the other inmates as well," Nils smiles.

"Nope, and if you don't tell us where your brother is hiding, I'll ask if your next cellmate could be one of the enemies that want you dead. Now tell us where to find your brother," Ashton says, getting annoyed.

Nils sighs. "Fine, but I don't really know, whereas Kurt changed his hideouts. Since I got arrested, he had to find new places to work, but my son can tell you where he might be."

"Nevel?" Elena asks, and Nils nods. "He's in college now, right?"

"At Pepperdine University in Malibu, I still talk to him every month. We do letters every week while he visits once a month."

"Fine, we'll talk to your son, and he better give us answers," Ashton says as the two walk to the door.

"Oh, Lieutenant, how are they doing nowadays?" Nils asks, and Ashton stops. Ashton turns to Nils. "I am sure the twins miss their mother very much. They were only two when their mother died. Also, I believed they weren't born yet when their father died in that car accident." Before Nils knows what happened, he is lying on the floor. Ashton punches him to the floor and stomps his right foot on Nils' chest. He uses his right hand and pushes Nils' chin up.

"If you talk about my little sister again and about how you murdered her, I promise I will come back here and blow your brains out," Ashton says. He gets off of Nils and leaves the room with Elena.

Later, they arrive at Pepperdine University and find Nevel. Nevel is twenty-one years old, and he is currently sitting at a table, reading. "Nevel Gustafsson," Elena addresses him, and Nevel looks up at them. "I am Detective Blanchard, and this is Lieutenant Watson. Can we speak to you for a moment about your uncle, Kurt Gustafsson?"

Nevel sets his book down and looks at the two. "Sure, asks away," he says.

"We want to know where to find him," Ashton asks.

Nevel looks at Ashton, "I have no clue about my uncle's whereabouts, but if you want, you can check out this one place that is in West Hollywood. It's an old warehouse. Now, I have to finish reading this book for my business class."

"Look, your uncle kidnapped a child that is the daughter of a friend of ours, so tell us before time runs out," Ashton says.

Nevel sighs, "What my uncle does is none of my business. But I'll give you the name of one of my uncle's associates who would know." Nevel writes down the name and gives the paper to Elena.

"We'll look up the person and talk to him," Elena says.

"Oh, one more thing for you, Lieutenant," Nevel looks back at his book and starts to read. As Ashton turns to Nevel, Nevel says, "If I were you, I would just allow my father out of prison to meet up with my uncle. Once my father finds my uncle, you'll be able to catch Uncle Kurt and will have both of them in prison. In fact," Nevel writes something down on a paper and hands it to Ashton. "If you do everything on the paper, you'll find Sakura Misaka."

"How did you know…?" Ashton wasn't able to finish as his cell rings. "Watson," he answers.

"Kurt is about to make the call. Get to Gudmund's house," Maisie says.

"Got it. On our way," Ashton hangs up and looks from Elena to the now empty table. "Where did he go?"

"I took my eye off of him for a second, and now he is gone," Elena says as she was watching Ashton talk on his cell.

"Let's go," Ashton says as the two left.

Soon at the Thoresen house, an officer sets up and readies his phone tracing equipment. Gudmund walks up to the officer. "Is everything ready for the call, Caleb?"

"Yes, Major, I am now connected to Maisie's computer, so we can get a better trace," Caleb answers.

Gudmund sees Daisuke pacing. "Daisuke, we'll get her back, and we won't allow Kurt and Nils to win."

Daisuke looks at him and nods. "Thank you, Gudmund."

Gudmund's cell rings, and he answers it, "Thoresen."

"Hello, Major Thoresen," says Kurt on the other line.

"Kurt!" Gudmund says, surprised, and everyone looks at him. He waves to Caleb to get the trace from his cell.

"I bet you are wondering why I called your cell instead of the house. Well, I knew that Judge Misaka would come to you. After all, my guys spotted your daughter getting a photo of my guys. It would be a shame if anything were to happen to little Astrid."

"If you ever go near my daughter or anyone in my family, I promise I will rip that head off of your shoulders," Gudmund growls. "Now tell me if Sakura is ok," he says, cooling down.

"Why Major, she is still alive and kicking. How about you release my brother, and I'll give you the real killer of Aimee Watson," he says.

Gudmund looks confused and checks to see if the others can hear this. Caleb shows him that the team and everyone in the room can hear the conversation. "What do you mean the real killer? Your brother is the one that killed her," Gudmund says.

"He was framed for that murder, and I'll tell you once you let my brother go. In fact, I found out that Lieutenant Watson visited my nephew just an hour ago. I want to bring this to an end sooner because I got a buyer for Sakura here. A couple that would love to have her in…you know what, I shouldn't tell you. You would try and track her down if I told you where she would be sent to. Now, you have until ten in the morning tomorrow, and I'll wait for you, Major. I'll send you the location of where the meet-up will be. Do not try anything funny and only you and your partner can come with my brother. Good night."

Kurt hangs up, and so does Gudmund. "Caleb, did you get the location where the call came from?"

"Sorry, sir," Caleb answers.

Gudmund starts to try and figure out what Kurt meant that Nils was framed. His cell rings, and he sees that it's Ashton and answers. "Yes, Ashton?"

"I got a plan on capturing Kurt. I'll meet you back at HQ," Ashton says on the phone.

"Ok, see you there," Gudmund says and hangs up.

Later, the team meets up at the HQ and is gathered at the computer table. Ashton shows them the note that Nevel gave him before. "Nevel gave me a game plan we can use to capture Kurt and save Sakura," Ashton says.

"Can we trust him?" Derek asks.

Ashton shows them another note that Ashton gave him, "He knows who really killed Aimee. I got a feeling he is either lying or just saying we locked up the wrong man."

Gudmund starts to think. "What if Nevel was the one that killed Aimee?" he questions, and everyone looks at him. "Maisie, bring up the crime photos of Aimee's murder and the evidence reports we got on Nils."

Maisie brings up the case files of Aimee's murder on the computer. "The COD was a mix because she was tortured in many ways. She was bound to an armchair and had many cuts on her legs. Her ankles were chained together tightly. As the chains cut off the blood flow, the items used had Nils' fingerprints on them. The last item that managed to kill her was a shot right in the center of her forehead."

"Nils says that he was at home when Aimee died," Derek says. "No one was able to confirm that as Nevel says that he saw his father at the location of the kill."

"Wait," Ashton notices something in one of the photos. "One of those wounds was done by a left-handed person."

"How do you know that?" Elena asks.

"Maisie, bring up a photo of the cuts marks on her left arm." Maisie zooms in on the photo, "Look; you can tell it started on the right and went left. Nils is right-handed and not left. Maisie, show the fingerprints on the gun that was left by her body." Maisie shows the photo of the handgun and shows the fingerprints that were on it. "Look, the fingerprint on the gun is on the right side. Normally, people that are left-handed would use their left hand, and the prints would be on the left side. But Nils is right-handed, and if he shot my sister, his right-hand fingerprints would be on the gun, not the left."

"Then how did his fingerprints get onto the gun?" Nozomi asks.

"He transferred it," Gudmund says as they look at him. "The real murderer managed to get Nils' fingerprints on the gun, while the rest of the weapons that were used didn't have them. That might be because he used gloves."

"Wait. Who would do that and frame Nils? And why?" Maisie asks.

"To get him locked away and not be able to run his crime empire," Ashton answers. "I don't think it was Kurt."

"Why you think that?" Elena asks.

"Because Kurt knows that his brother didn't kill my sister. He wants him free and to find the one that framed him. I believe they know who killed my sister."

"Who you think it is, Ashton?" Derek asks.

Gudmund looks at his team. "Right now, we can't work on that, but we can capture Kurt. We need the brothers together in order to get the answers. We'll do the deal and hand Nils over, but we won't be letting them go because we'll be capturing the two and will need to get answers. As of now, the case of Aimee Murphy is now reopened."

"Tomorrow, we'll meet with Kurt along with Nils. Then capture the two," Ashton says, and they start on the plan.

The next day in Gudmund's car, he is driving on a trail in the woods. Ashton is in the passenger seat, as Nils is in the back, handcuffed. "So, I guess I am free now, huh," Nils smirks. "I can't wait to see my brother again. I sure do miss him."

"What about your son? Nevel?" Ashton asks.

Nils doesn't answer right away. "Him too." He looks at Ashton. "Tell me, Lieutenant, how is your family? Do Aimee's kids miss their mom? I believe I was at home the day she died, but you all told me I killed her."

"We know you didn't kill her," Gudmund says. "We want you and Kurt to tell us who; we know you know."

Nils looks out the window and sees the trees. "I lost my wife sixteen years ago when she passed away. I do miss her, and I want to see her again. Tell me: is Nevel going to be there?"

Gudmund and Ashton look at each other. "We got him on watch at his school," Ashton finally answers.

Soon, they arrive at the location of the meet. They step out of the car and keep Nils between them. A big, dark van rolls up and stops as three men walkout. One of them is Kurt, and he walks up and smiles at his brother. "I am glad you decided to follow my order," Kurt says. "Now release him, and you can get the girl back. If you do any tricks, the girl will be shipped out."

"Tell us where she is," Gudmund demands.

"Once I leave with my brother, someone will contact you about the whereabouts. Now send my brother over so I can hug him," Kurt demands.

Ashton unlocks the handcuffs and lets Nils walk up to the van. Kurt walks toward him to greet his brother. Just as the two meet up and hug, the two get shot, and so do the goons. The four falls to the ground, dead.

"What the hell happened?" Ashton asks as he and Gudmund get their guns out.

Gudmund walks up to Nils and Kurt's bodies and feels their necks. "They are dead," he announces. Ashton checks the two goons and says the same thing.

"I bet it was Aimee's real killer that shot them," Ashton says, and they start to call the rest of the team. "Maisie, I need you to track down any cargo plane or cargo ships that are going to be leaving. I need to block all of them."

"Derek, I need you to get the LBPD and the LASD to track down any cargos that are going to be shipping out between now and the next five hours. Nils and Kurt have been shot dead, so Sakura is now in the wind. She could be on a ship or a plane right now." Gudmund hangs up and gets ready to make another call until his cell rings. "Thoresen," he answers, "What? When did she get found?" He then hangs up and turns to Ashton. "Someone found Sakura wandering the street in Malibu."

Later at the team HQ, Sakura enters with Gudmund and Ashton. She sees her parents waiting for her, and she runs up to them. The family then hugs and is happy to have the family together again.

Later, the team stands before the monitor. "Sakura says she was set free by some unknown person. She didn't see what he looked like; she but knows it was a male," Nozomi says.

"She was freed three hours ago before we met up with Kurt," Derek says. "She must have gotten free right after Kurt left to meet with Gudmund and Ashton."

"Also, during that time, Nevel was nowhere to be seen," Maisie says. "He didn't make a reappearance until thirty minutes after Kurt and Nils died."

Gudmund cell rings. "Thoresen," he answers and listens for a moment. "Ok, thank you." He hangs up and looks at the team. "The members of the LASD found a gun about fifty yards from the meet-up point, the same one that was used to kill Kurt and Nils. They are sending over photos now."

An email appears on the screen, and Maisie clicks on it and it the photos. "What kind of a gun is that?" she asks.

"That is no normal military gun," Gudmund answers. The photo is of a sniper gun, but it was way different. "Looks like it can shoot two bullets at the same time. But there is no military sniper gun like that. Nozomi, call the LASD and tell them to send the gun to Chelsea. She can check the gun out."

Three days later, Nevel is walking back to a black car. He has two goons walking with him. They get stopped by Ashton, and the two goons pull out their guns. "No need, boys, I am sure Lieutenant is here to chat," Nevel says as his goons put their guns away.

"I know that you had something to do with your father and uncle's deaths," Ashton says, looking serious. "And I am sure you are the one that killed my sister."

"Why would I want to kill your sister and then kill my father and uncle?" Nevel asks.

"So you can get your father and uncle out of the picture so you can take over your father's empire. Once they are out of your way, you can do whatever you want. I'll make sure I get all of the evidence that I need and throw your butt into prison myself."

Nevel smirks, "Good luck, Lieutenant, but I am sure you won't because you'll be busy learning something about Commander Thoresen. And a good day to you, Lieutenant," Nevel enters the back seat of the car. Then, the goons enter the car, and they drive off, leaving Ashton confused.

Later, Ashton arrives at a house in Pomona and stops in the driveway. He gets out of his 2013 Ford Ranger Wildtrak and walks up to the front door. He rings the doorbell, and a woman answers, "Ashton."

"Hey, Amber, may I come in?" he asks, and Amber nods.

Ashton enters the house, and Amber closes the door. "What's up, little brother?"

"Nils Gustafsson died three days ago," he answers.

"How did he die?" she asks her brother.

Before he could answer, his nephews and nieces come running to greet him. Two of them belong to Amber, and the other two belong to Aimee. "Uncle Ashton," the four call out.

Ashton smiles and hugs his nephews and nieces. "Hey Olivia, Noah, Dominic, and Imogen. How are you kids today?" he asks. Olivia is eighteen, Noah is twelve, and the twins, Dominic and Imogen, are five.

"We are doing great," Olivia answers. "I am applying to six different colleges already."

"That's my girl. How about you kids go and let me talk to Amber? I would love to talk to you four later." The kids leave the room, and Ashton turns to Amber.

"So how did Nils die?" Amber asks. Ashton explains what happened four days ago. "So, you are going to open Aimee's case and try to find her real killer?"

"Yes, and I already got my prime suspect, but it will take a while. But I'll get him and make sure he pays for his crimes."

Amber smiles. "I am glad you are working on Aimee's case so our family can be at peace."

Ashton smiles, "Yep," and the two hug each other.
