In Forrestal Nature Reserve, Sigmund meets up with an informant as he waits by his car. Then, a car drives up and stops by him. A man gets out and walks over to Sigmund. "Colonel. I have want you need," he says and hands him a large yellow envelope. Sigmund takes it.
"Does this have want I need on The Gustafsson Family?"
"Yes, it does, but you might want to take a closer look at the son of the leader of the crime family. I found out that Nil's wife died five years ago; she wasn't sick or anything. The ME office says she died in her sleep, but before Nil buried his wife, a different ME checked the wife's body and found something. I wasn't able to figure out what and who, but it was done by a member of Interpol and a member of the FBI from Washington DC."
"Thank you, Rob. I'll call my cousin in Interpol; he might be able to help. Did you find anything on Nevel Gustafsson?"
Rob shakes his head slowly, "Sorry, sir, but I did find something. He was the last person to see his mom alive before she went to take a nap when she died, but he was a kid at the time."
"And he still is, but I heard his IQ is over two hundred. Is that true?" Rob nods. "He could outsmart anyone… Thank you, Rob. That is all." Rob nods, walks back to his car, and drives off. Sigmund gets back into his car and heads back to headquarters.
Later at headquarters, Sigmund stands in front of a huge monitor on the wall, talking to the FBI director, the director of the CIA, and the Secretary of Defense. "We read over your report, Colonel," says the director of FBI. "We talked it over and decided to allow it, but you need to gather as much as you can on him."
"Right now, Klaus is the prime target we need to catch," says the CIA director. "We'll need to put a hold on the Gustafsson kid. If you do find anything that can relate him to Klaus, then we can pool him in with this."
"Colonel, where are you right now in tracking down Klaus?" asks the Secretary of Defense.
"A few days ago, he was in a neighborhood and left just yesterday, heading south. We lost track of him, as we believe he caught on to us tailing him. My wife, ADA Trine Thoresen, managed to get me a file for Klaus, a discovery that sure will put Klaus away for good and take down his empire," Sigmund explains.
"Good. We'll talk to the president of Interpol to decide what to do next," says the director of the CIA.
Sigmund remembers something. "One more thing: we think that Nevel might be talking to high members of ISIS."
The three gasp at Sigmund's statement. "Do you have any proof of this?" asks the secretary of defense, and Sigmund nods.
"It's not much, but I have a friend that's still in the army. He is currently over in Syria, and his teams managed to pick up the chatter, a certain chatter that had Nevel's name come up with the title of Deputy Leader in Syria."
The three on the monitors sit back in their seats and start to think. "Colonel, if this is true, then we have a big problem on our hands," says the Secretary of Defense. "I'll have to look into this. Send me the information, ok?" Sigmund nods, and they finish their meeting.
The monitor turns off, and Sigmund sits in a chair. "Damn," he says to himself, and his cell rings. He looks at the caller ID; it's his cousin, Hakon. "Hey, Hakon. What's up?"
"I want to talk to you about something. I am going to be flying down to LA, and I'll arrive tomorrow."
Sigmund sits up in the chair. "Why?"
"I can't say over the phone. I'll see you tomorrow once I land using the Royal Family Jet."
"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow." The two hang up. Sigmund starts to think about why his cousin might becoming. He gets up and heads for his office. As he walks down the hall, he sees Ashton rushing to him. "Ashton, what is it?"
"I just got a call. We are needed, and the call is from Consul Edvin Lang. There was a cyber-attack at the Royal Norwegian Consulate."
"Get Agent Alan Sutton and the team; we are heading to the consulate."
At the Royal Norwegian Consulate, Sigmund is greeted by Consul Lang. "Colonel Thoresen, it's great to see you again."
"It's great to see you too. Can you tell us what happened?" Sigmund asks.
"Some of our computers exploded like a small bomb went off inside of them."
The team looks confused, "What do you mean like a bomb?" asks Alan.
"I'll have to show you." Consul Lang shows them to a room with one of the exploded computers.
"Wow, I've never seen a computer explode in pieces," says Detective Harry Hayes.
"Hayes, take Sayar with you to get statements from those whose computers exploded," Sigmund says, and the two men nod. Harry and Officer Aharon Sayar check the other rooms. "Ashton, you and Chelsea gather anything that we could use for evident." The two nod and went on to do their job. "Al, can you try and figure out how these computers became bombs?"
"Yes, if I find some hard drives or something that could help," Alan says, and his cell rings. "Agent Sutton," he answers, and his eyes widen. "I'll let Colonel Thoresen know." He hangs up and turns to Sigmund, "Sig, it seems more computers exploded like these at three other consulates. I just got a call from one of my technical specialists saying that others have exploded the same way as these."
"Then we need more people to help us with this case," Sigmund says, and he turns to Consul Lang. "Consul, I'll need my teams to be allowed to enter every room here."
"Of course. I'll get badges made for them," Consul Lang says and goes to get the tags made.
Later, the team finishes up with the interviews, and Sigmund decides to let Alan take the lead. Sigmund walks to his office and grabs a file. He sits down at his desk and reads the file. "Nevel," he whispers and puts the file down. His desk phone rings, and he answers it, "Thoresen." He listens to the person on the other line. "I'm on my way."
He arrives at the FBI Field Office and meets the Assistant Director, Owen Pryor, in the lobby. "Colonel Thoresen, thank you for coming," he greets Sigmund.
"Sure thing, Assistant Director Pryor. What do you need?"
"I heard about the computers at the Royal Norwegian Consulate. I think I know someone you should look into," he says, and the two leave the lobby.
They arrive at Assistant Director Pryor's office, "You know someone that might have made the attack?"
"Yes, Yoshi Kojima." He shows him a photo of Yoshi on the monitor in his office. "He is currently seventeen years old and is a big-time computer prodigy. Do you remember that attack that happened back at the Consulate-General of Japan three weeks ago?"
"Yes, and that investigation is still on-going. We still don't know what happened," Sigmund says. "All we know is that the computers exploded."
"We think it might have the same M.O. because after the computers exploded, the Consul General found that some important data went missing."
"You think that Yoshi might have made that attack and made the attack on the Royal Norwegian Consulate?" Assistant Director Pryor nods. "And some very important information from the consulate might have been stolen." Sigmund's cell rings, and he answers it, "Thoresen." He listens, and his eyes widen. "What? Four more attacked?" He listens some more. "Ok, I am at the FBI Field Office right now. I'll call you back. Just figure out what is going on, and check with each consulate to see if any of their important data has gone missing." He hangs up and looks at the Assistant Director. "It seems that four others have been attacked."
"What were they?" he asks.
"Consulate-Generals of Germany, China, Israel, and Afghanistan," Sigmund answers. "This is becoming big. Since you have lots of information on this Yoshi guy, could your field office help us with this case?"
"Sure, I'll send some agents to help your department out," Assistant Director Pryor says, and they shake hands. Sigmund leave the offices and the Assistant Director sends Sigmund all of the information he has on Yoshi Kojima.
On his way back to pINPOINt, Sigmund pulls into a gas station. He parks his car and fills it up. As he exits his car, someone walks up to him wearing a black suit and black glasses. He hands Sigmund a file, and he takes it. The man leaves, and Sigmund continues filling up the car. After Sigmund finishes filling up, he gets back into his car after paying for the gas. He opens the file and sees some papers with information. He sees a name on the top, "I guess that'll be the plan if we can't catch him." He puts the file in the glove department and drives off. Instead of heading back to pINPOINt, he heads north.
