[[Shizuka's POV]]
It was at the dead of night. The moon was shining above us, illuminating our camp, just staying higher than the sky. And beside me was Derierei, who had decided to sleep on my shoulder.
Honestly, Derierei and I had never had privacy after our moment in the rooftop, so our time earlier was something I deeply cherish. I got the chance of knowing Derierei more. I know a bit of what she likes, of what she hates, and that she has a girl "back home" waiting for her. Actually, right now, she's now with this girl, and that's why her physical form was currently asleep.
For some reason, my chest hurts a bit, but it must be because I was putting too much stress on my body, because my chest wasn't the only part of me slightly hurting. At some point in time, I became the leader of my group, and with all their hopes on me, I keep on doing my best, to keep on forcing myself for everyone else.
However, for now, let's distract myself! Derierei-chan had told me to check on my rewards, so I surely will!

Looking at all my rewards, I was beginning to get giddy! They were just all so good! It's definitely going to help us a lot! The Quick Learn Skill Books, the Lesser Level Limit Breakers, and the Sharable Status Points were the things I wanted to check the most!
But I was a little scared, because maybe I'll make a mistake and ruin something. But I also really, really wanted to see what they did!
The Quick Learn Skill Books were a bit confusing. I get that they could give Skills, but was there more to it? Was it harmful? This is really why I needed someone like Derierei-chan.
Then, the Lesser Level Limit Break was a curious thing. Why did I get it as an reward? Will I need it to level up again?
And lastly, the Sharable Status Points were obvious, and I was excited to share them! But I didn't know how, and I don't want to make a mistake!
But now that I know of these, I'm so excited that I don't feel sleepy anymore!
'Let's go kill some zombies to get my mind off of this.' I thought that to myself as I gently lay Derierei's body on the futon put on top of the MTVR's roof, by Derierei-chan herself.
Then, after making sure that Derierei-chan was exactly in the middle of the futon, I jumped off the roof and landed silently onto the ground. Looking at my mini-map, I was able to find a nearby zombie horde.
Summoning my butterfly knife to my left hand, I hyped myself up before sprinting towards the zombie horde.

"Do we have a deal, Mel?" I asked my lovely future-wife, sighing hotly as I felt her finger trace my spine.
"We do, baby-boo." She replied, and I couldn't help but smirk at the start of our chaotic, and interesting relationship

orning was a slow and peaceful time. Lillian, their designated cook, woke up before at the crack of dawn, and began setting up the campfire where she'd cook. However, she wasn't the only one awake.
Derierei, seeing Lillian struggle a bit with having to prepare the ingredients and the campfire, decided to help.
"Don't worry about the campfire, Lillian-san. I'll do it for you." When Derierei spoke up, Lillian jumped a bit out of surprise! She was just too focused on the task on hand that she hadn't noticed the pinkette walk in front of her. And not only that, after hearing Derierei's morning voice, Lillian immediately noticed that it was sexier than normal, and it was getting to the "older" pinkette a bit.
But Lillian was a strong woman. She'd met many women in her younger days, dominated a lot of them, so she wouldn't let this otherworldly beauty turn her into a bumbling school girl.
"Thank you, Derierei-san." Lillian smiled at Derierei, watching as the "younger" woman stretched, arms shooting up, and the "older" pinkette received a marvelous view of the groggy woman's ample bosom, causing Lillian to gulp a mouthful of saliva.
"Aaah~-haaa~... No need to thank me. There's nothing else to do anyways. And Derierei's just fine. Or use '-chan' like Shizuka does." The "younger" pinkette simply waved off Lillian's formality and began with the campfire.
Lillian, for her case, was trying to calm herself down after seeing how a simple yawn could be so adorable, especially so when it was done by a sexy woman like Derierei. Then, after finally getting a hold of herself, Lillian absent-mindedly nodded as she went to the RV to get a whole lot of eggs and the remaining of the bacon, which still a lot, and some bread that would begin to expire the next day.
She °could° have cooked rice, but they didn't have enough for everyone, so she just decided that a sandwich would be okay enough for their breakfast. They were still keeping most of the canned goods for emergencies, so she didn't bother with them. Hopefully, they could find more rice in Shoshoramu, and Lillian didn't care if she had to have a rice farm of her own.
Yes, rice is very important.

Breakfast was a calm ordeal. Like with their dinner yesterday, the group discussed about their plan while eating once again.
"I think that the summer camp would be a good place to create our base." Saeko began while patting Alice's head. Even if she was sporting a cold-ish calm expression, no one can resist Alice and her adorable looks.
"Gotta agree with Saeko-san there. When Rika-san showed us the pictures of the summer camp, I thought it would be enough for all of us, and they are quite close to each other, so making a simple fence would be enough to defend the place while we make a proper base." Yuki supported Saeko's statement, nodding to herself as she remembered about the triangular wooden cabins.
"It even has a river nearby, a place where we can take a bath, wash our clothes, and maybe possibly even fish! And if we °do° make our base there, making a farm wouldn't be hard with the river." The twin-tailed pinkette shared her own views on the matter, already thinking up important things to do if the summer camp would be where they decide to live in.
"I think I actually saw the summer camp having a fence set up in one of the pictures. Should keep any stray zombies away." The last of the teens added, nodding sagely to herself before taking a sip at her drink.
The adults smiled at their thoughts, as they knew the true reason why they were trying to make the summer camp sound more appealing than it already is. To them, even Shizuka, the teenagers just wanted to be in the summer camp, because even in this apocalyptic world, the place still had something in it that was calling for all of them. However, what they didn't know, was that Derierei was just slightly manipulating their minds to like the summer camp more because, 1) The place °was° a good place to set up shop, 2) The summer camp was really appealing to her, 3) Derierei just liked the summer camp. 4) It had fence they could reinforce, 5) A lot of space, 6) A lot of trees to cut down to open up some space and for the wood to be used, and 7) There were fishies in the river they could...fish, and there are a lot of wildlife in the area. Actually, Derierei could cause the population of the wildlife around the place to rise.
But they didn't need to know that it was all Derierei's doing. In the end, they'll be able to make their base in peace!

For 2 hours, the group followed Rika's lead, who was using the map on her phone. To be honest, Rika didn't know how she was still able to continue to use the internet. She was sure, that if the internet was still up, then the evil government was still alive, since the internet would be important for multiple operations. But, other than that, Rika and the rest had finally reached the summer camp! And like Rei had said, the place had a fence around it, and thankfully, the gate didn't have anything about it, so the delivery trucks were able to enter the summer camp.
Once everyone was parked, the drivers had a debate through the walkies, and Derierei, who was getting impatient, volunteered to check if there were any zombies in the camp, which had actually had none, but Derierei had to keep up appearance. And the faster she checked, the faster they get to plan what they'd do. Derierei was quite excited about making their own base, actually, and that's why she was impatient.
So, with quick steps, Derierei checked each one of the triangular cabins by partially entering them and knocking loudly at the door. Then, she went to check on the biggest building, which she guessed was had everything in it, the counselor's rooms, the cafeteria, meeting halls, etc. Honestly, with the concrete building here, making their own base was moot at this point, but Derierei was sure that they'd need an extra building, and they would have to chop a lot of wood in the surroundings so they could easily see around the place, and just leaving the wood wouldn't work. 'A big ass wooden cabin is the answer to all that.' Derierei convinced herself in her mind.
Then, after having checked the building, Derierei gave the OK signal and everyone came pouring out their vehicles.
"We still have some time before lunch, so I suggest you all to decide among yourselves if any of you want to sleep alone, by pair, or as a trio and choose a cabin. You can go to Shizuka if you have any problems. And there's no need to take our stuff out yet, because for now, it's better if we rest first. Lillian, if you come with me please." Derierei, due to her impatience, acted out of line, but no one reprimanded her because they, too, could see the shine in her eyes. Out of all the teens here, Derierei would probably be the most childish!
"Alice-chan, why don't you go with Saeko-san for a bit. I'll go with your Derierei-nee to see what she needs me for." Lillian gently pushed her daughter towards the cold beauty, since she was Alice's third best big sister, with Derierei being the first, Saya the second, Yuki the fourth, and Rei the last. But of course, to Alice, her big sisters all, had what they best at.
"Shall we?" The "older" pinkette offered her arm up for the "younger" pinkette, who just wrapped her own around it with an amused smile.
As they entered the building, Derierei began, "No offense Lily, if I'm assuming wrong, and for assuming it in the first place, but...you don't want to go out with us to get supplies, kill some Zs,...to go on an adventure, right?"
From the start of the creation of their group, Lillian hadn't actively participated in slaying zombies, on joining the raids, opting to just stay with her daughter, to cook, and just care for the rest in general. And, for her part, Lillian just smiled as she shook her head at Derierei as they go through another set of doors.
"None taken, Derierei. I mean, I am confident in being able to kill a zombie, but I'd rather make sure that my daughter is safe. If she were any older, I would have readily joined the raids...but Alice is just too young and is still so curious about her surroundings. She needs me, Derierei. My daughter needs me. And other than that, I enjoy doing the jobs the rest wouldn't be able to do because they're either too tired, too busy, or whatever else." The mother of the little bundle of energy confessed. Lillian, though she was a strong woman, and can be ferocious, she was a mother first, and she has a duty to accomplish.
"Yep. You're def a good mom, you know that?" Since the atmosphere had gotten serious, Derierei tried to lighten it up with a cheery voice.
Of course, Lillian noticed what Derierei was doing, and she appreciated the gesture. "I do. Seeing Alice happy already confirms that I am the best mother in the world." She cheekily added, and Derierei chuckled, glad that the woman beside her was happy right now.
"Then, since you're going to be like, all of our stay-at-home mom, would you mind learning how to garden?" Opening a door, Derierei showed Lillian the camp's open garden, surprising the "older" woman with the amount of vegetables there were. Surely, with this garden, the group wouldn't go hungry. Lillian could even see some free space at the back for more vegetables!
"Well~... I'll definitely need a hobby. I did hear that gardening could be relaxing, too." Moving her gaze around the garden, Lillian felt that she could do a lot here. Not only will the garden help her be able to provide something to the group, she could see herself enjoying the serenity the garden would bring.
"Yeah... I think I'll be able to do this." With a new fire of determination burning up inside her, Lillian was definitely not going to be a deadbeat and be a great mom.
"Good. That's gonna help us a bunch. And other than the gardening, sorry if I'm asking too much, but maybe...you could learn some medical skills from Shizuka? You know how she wants to be part of everything we'll do to improve our way of living, so she'll definitely be either out with us, or exerting herself too much here. And if someone staying here at camp gets injured, or if Shizuka wouldn't be able to, we'll have to really on..." Derierei explained the reason to Lillian, as to why learning under Shizuka would be a great help to them. And Lillian saw the benefit of it, and in reality, other than taking care of the garden in future, cooking food, and probably doing chores, Lillian felt a bit useless. Being a nurse would definitely alleviate that concern of hers.
"No no. Having more than one nurse would greatly benefit our group, and I'll gladly become one, so that I could help out more." Lillian proclaimed, not at all bothered with this. In fact, she was grateful for the chance to show how useful she can be. And, she °does° have to set a good example for her daughter. Lillian wasn't sure how long the zombie apocalypse would last, if it would destroy most of humanity or not, but she was sure that all they need is each other. And honestly, Lillian was still young and able, so she was curious about Derierei's method of conceiving a child. But that's a matter for the future.

After lunch, which Lillian had cooked up, and a bit of rest, everyone, even Alice, began to unpack and organize their things inside the large cafeteria. The weapons and armors were very important, and very dangerous, so they had to set up a half-baked armory in one of the free rooms in counselor's cabin. After the weapons, they had to carefully sort out the essentials(soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, you know...the essentials), taking whatever they needed and keeping the extras on a table for them to properly sort out later. The survival and camping gears were left in a corner, to be thoroughly organized later. The clothes and underwear though, they received more focus. Not because of the stereotypes, but because they had been wearing the same clothes since the apocalypse started, bar the former students and Shizuka.
After the clothes were picked, everyone had a unanimous decision of taking a bath. Everyone, had then, taken their own soap, shampoos, conditioners from the essentials table, and went to look for the river, which wasn't hard as they were able to hear the running water from the serenity of the forest. Of course, they had weapons with them, just in case.
Then, upon reaching the river, Shizuka and Derierei were the first ones to get naked and dive straight in the water. Since they were all women, they didn't care about being seen naked, especially when Japan had hot-springs where people of the same gender can see each other's naked body. But, while the two didn't care, the rest, except for the innocent Alice, had a problem.
Shizuka had saved them multiple times, had lead them like a proper leader would, and had given them hope. Even a straight woman would have deeply admired Shizuka for just that. However, they knew Shizuka, had been able to talk and interact with her. It couldn't be helped that they gained a slight crush on her, with most of them being actually "secretly" in love with the blonde nurse who, for some reason, can still be a klutz when she can kill three zombies at the same time with precision and skill!
And as for the other woman, she had an otherworldly beauty that would easily sway any man and woman to her side. She was powerful and ferocious in the battlefield, but just like with Shizuka, Derierei has a completely different side when she's not focused on killing! How could they °not° fall for the Reaper-wannabe, even just for a little bit.
And now, with both of them naked and openly displaying this nakedness to them, just how would these woman survive?!
Alice was just being a good girl and had already joined her big sisters to take a bath.

[A/N: Done-zow! Finally got to look in deeper into Lillian's character for a bit. That's good. Expect some character development, alright? I need some character development because I don't like their personalities going from 0 to a 100!
Anyway, I'm getting closer to 20 chapters! Also, I'mma guess that maybe HOTD will take 30 chaps to finish, because some character development will be here, sprinkle some fluff and smut, give a pinch of zombie and bandit killing there....yeah. At this point, cannon's fucked, so I have free reign on what's to happen in the future.
