[[Shizuka's POV]]

The remainder of the day was filled with sorting out our stockpile of food, preparing to clear a proper space for planting the seeds, and looking for weapons we could use from the hardware tools.

Afterwards, we had a pleasant evening, had a feast, and everyone else had gone to sleep. But I couldn't bring myself to sleep, because there was something that was keeping my mind occupied.

Turning to check on Yuki-chan, I was glad to see that she was fast asleep. It made it easier for me to leave the cabin silently. These thoughts of mine...I really needed an answer. And the only one who could give me an answer, would be Derierei-chan.

So, leaving the cabin with a jacket, I decided to go looking for Derierei-chan. But it seems that I didn't need to, since I was able to find her the moment I opened the door of my cabin, sitting on one of the portable chairs, playing with the campfire.

Closing the door behind me, I slowly walked towards her while she keeps her focus on the campfire. Then, as I get closer, getting a clearer look at her face, I couldn't help but think, 'Beautiful.' And I didn't notice how Derierei-chan's lips lifted up a bit.

Soon enough, I was sitting next to Derierei-chan, who kept on poking the campfire. For the moment, we kept quiet, enjoying the moment of peace and privacy. Having a chance like this was rare, so I just wanted to just enjoy the moment, leaning against Derierei-chan, feeling the heat from the campfire, watching the fire dance, and placing my head on Derierei-chan's shoulder.

But after a while, Derierei-chan finally broke the silence. "If I'm going to be honest with you, Shizu. I wouldn't care if ya tel'em about the System. As long as you don't say anything about me. And...to be extra honest with you, I want you to tell them that you have one. Saves a lot of trouble. It's a bitch having to waste time carrying stuff to and fro. Wait, is that right? To and fro? Bah! Anyway, it's still'a bitch that you don't use your Inventory, and not only that, but you still got'a lot of important stuff in there. Like, the box of ammunition's gonna catch magical time-and-space dust in there! You could use those for training!"

Listening to what Derierei-chan had said, I nodded in agreement. I didn't like having to keep something that could benefit us a lot a secret, especially when they were completely in love with me -according to the Affection Level, but there was something weird going on with it-. And I was wasting the Inventory's use! It was mostly empty, with my recent rewards that I couldn't just take out occupying some of the space!

"By the way, here. To help you out." Derierei suddenly said with a mischievous smile, before a holo-screen popped up in front of me.

Reading the Mission, I thought that it was...different. Then, I couldn't help but blush when I saw the Reward! Quickly, I was going to ask Derierei what the reward entailed, but I was too frozen in shock from what I saw!

Derierei, the one who usually acted like a gangster, who could easily lift a freezer filled with ice cream -though multiple stacks of plywood was heavier-, can easily kill multiple zombies in one swing with her scythe, was actually being all meek and cute! This was a side that she rarely ever showed, and seeing her like this was just so surprising!

"Like I said, I don't care what you'll decide. I just want ya to be clear with what'ya want, so that you wouldn't regret anything later and make a mess'ff things. And don't fe'rget to check your rewards from the previous mission." And just like that, Derierei-chan left me, still frozen in place. The funny thing was, though Derierei-chan tried to act cool, because she definitely was, as she left, to me, she just looked like a school girl who got too embarrassed in her confession and ran away. And in all honesty, this °was° a confession, wasn't it?

As Derierei-chan's body was engulfed by the shadows, I couldn't help but smile to myself.

"She really is too cute." I say that to myself as I felt the soft fabric of the lab coat in my hands.

For the moment, I watched as they fire danced about, before finally deciding to do as Derierei-chan had told me to do and opened up my previous Missions.

Seeing my rewards, I felt so overwhelmed. This was a bit much, but it wasn't much of a surprise as a kiss from Derierei-chan. I was just overwhelmed, but not too shocked to not function a bit.

The ones that caught my attention were the Totems, and the Magical Infinite Gas Pump. I don't know what the "Infinite" in the Magical Infinite Gas Pump specifically mean, but I had hoped that it would just pump out gas forever.

"Thank you... Derierei-chan..." Derierei had told me once that she could give whatever rewards she wants, as long as it was acceptable in the World's views, and I'm sure that the Totems, the Ward, and the Magical Infinite Gas Pump was definitely wasn't something the World would accept, so she should have done something big.

[[3rd Person's POV]]

Everyone was silent, not daring to utter a word. Because how could they, when they just got a nuclear bomb dropped on them.

The zombie apocalypse was something they could believe, because it was a result of a science experiment gone wrong. But magic? That was harder to believe. And something that would give someone power, and things, out of nowhere? A System that makes its host stronger, that rewards the host with unbelievable things? That's something they could only ima- no. None had ever even imagined something like a System. But there it was, a System that helps out Shizuka become stronger.

It was just too hard to digest, but thankfully, none seemed to be letting their emotions overcome their rationality. But in reality, Shizuka was guiltily using her [Soothing Charm] on them to force them to stay calm. Shizuka didn't like it, but it would hurt her more if something wrong would happen because of her.

And back to everyone else but Derierei and Alice -they were outside, playing-, they began to regard Shizuka with varying degrees of calculating looks. In reality, why should they react negatively to this news? This thing that Shizuka had, was the reason why they were all together, alive, safe, away from danger. It gave Shizuka strength to fight against zombies, to save them, to protect them. And, from what Shizuka had also explained, this System could make them stronger, too! It truly was beneficial for everyone!

The System was something unknown, but from how Shizuka was defending its intentions, it was something that was something that would help them all survive, and live!, in the zombie apocalypse!

And as for Shizuka, does she deserve anything bad for keeping it a secret? For being different? For having the System? Fuck no! Shizuka's a ditzy angel! Hating someone like Shizuka is a heathen! Shizuka's a kind-hearted individual that cares about everyone's health! She even became a nurse just for that reason!

"Let me say this, Shizuka. I think I speak for everyone here..." Yuriko gestures at everyone, "when I say... 'Thank you'. Thank you for saving us and for protecting us."

The suddenness of what Yuriko had said surprised Shizuka, but after the initial shock, the nurse felt heat swell in her chest, and it just got hotter when she saw everyone smile at her, making her throat hurt a bit.

"I could tell that the System would have easily given you strength to be able to protect yourself against the 'them', to live a life without the need to have to worry about us, and yet you did. You didn't run away to protect yourself, and instead saved us, and to this day, keep on doing everything you could to keep us safe. And for that, we thank you, Shizuka." Yuriko bowed, remembering how Shizuka had given her the chance to be with her daughter, and as did Yuki, who used to be a broken girl, but was pieced back together by Shizuka's concern, Rei, who, too, was broken and was pieced together by Shizuka keeping her promise, Saeko, who was able to accept herself because of Shizuka becoming her friend, Saya, who was allowed to be with her mother thanks to Shizuka, Kiriko, who had been reunited with her daughter because of Shizuka, Lillian, who was able to not worry about her daughter's safety because of Shizuka doing it for her, and lastly, Rika, who Shizuka had saved years before all of this.

Yes, Shizuka was just too pure to be hated, and she deserved all the joy, the kindess, and all the love the love in the world.

And Shizuka, who was being bowed to and was feeling their heartfelt intentions, dropped to her knees, and cried tears of joy.

Shizuka was happy. Like, really, °really° happy! Not only had her friends accepted her having a System, they had also proven how true they can be! Of course, there was this matter of all of them having Max Affection Levels, but that would be something that would blow over Shizuka's head at any time.

She was even able to take out and use the Zombie Ward, Totem of Subterfuge, and Totem of Verdure Growth and placed them in the middle of the camp, which she found through the Map. The Zombie Ward, upon pulling it out of her Inventory, which Shizuka explained after she had cried herself hoarse, resembled a zombified garden gnome, earning a good laugh from some of the women in the group. They had decided to see the magical items that Shizuka had told them about, because it intrigued them a lot. Especially when she said one was able to keep zombies away, one helped conceal the camp from human eyes, and the last was something that they definitely needed, something that cut down the plant's time to reach maturity by 99%! Rika, with the internet still thankfully available, had searched that a lot of fruits takes around 3-5 years to grow and mature, which, with the 99% reduction, meant that an apple tree would take around 18 days at most to become mature! And if that was the case, the plant would bear fruit °before° it reaches 18 days!

And as the ladies watched on in curiosity, the next thing that Shizuka pulled out from out of nowhere, her inventory, was a two meter totem pole with chameleon carvings!

"This is the Totem of Subterfuge! It would conceal the camp from a 300 meter radius, so people won't come snooping around! But Totem of Camouflage would have been better, with the chameleons and all." Shizuka chastised the name of the item, thinking that Subterfuge should have been Camouflage, or that the carvings should be something else.

Then, the next item that Shizuka pulled out from her inventory was a totem with similar length to the Totem of Subterfuge, only with vines and flowers carved on it.

"And this is the Totem of Verdure Growth! This will definitely help us out with thr garden!" The nurse excitedly informed everyone, her usual sing-sing voice gone and was replaced with enthusiasm.

"Re-really!?" Their gardener, Lillian, exclaimed in awe! The Raid Team had recently just gave her fruit seeds! Hopefully though, on the next raid, they could find a library for a book about fruits and gardening, or maybe even be rewarded to Shizuka!

"Mm-hmm! This way, we'll have an abundance of vegetables and fruits! And wood, too!" Everyone cheered at Shizuka's words, happy that they had an alternative of ever their supplies of processed goods were to be completely depleted, or expired.

"That's...amazing!" Even Saeko, the coldest of them all, showed an expression of excitement! Yes, with all of these, they would be able to not just survive, but °live°!

__/__/__/ [[Shizuka's POV]]

After I had told everyone about the System, I felt...free and happy! I finally didn't have to hide something so wonderful from my...family! I was even finally able something so beneficial to us like the the Totems and Ward! I also took out the Magical Infinite Gas Pump, and it was funny seeing how Rika-chan and Kiriko-chan to it! It was because with it, they wouldn't need to worry about gas anymore and can have joyrides! And since they were excited about taking the vehicles out without need to worry about fuel, I took out the Reinforced SUV and the Eighteen-Wheeler!



(Reinforced SUV)

The way their jaw dropped was really funny! They had even immediately went for the SUV, having an argument who would get to ride it first, before deciding who would get to ride it first with rock-paper-scissors. Kiriko-chan won, and immediately went to the driver's seat, while Rika-chan grumbled as they drove away, saying that they'll be back later.

It was an amusing scene, and we all had a good laugh at it. The next thing that I took out from my inventory were the boxes of ammunition! And if Rika-chan and Kiriko-chan hadn't rushed for the SUV, they would have surely have taken a lot of bullets with them to play with their guns. But without them, Yuri-chan immediately grabbed a handful of 9mm bullets and dragged Yuki-chan with her, saying that she would help Yuki-chan train her accuracy!

After that, I had nothing else but the Level Limit and Healing Pills, which I held back for now, because I was going to surprise them with those later!

But, for now, the rest of the ladies went back to their own devices, with Saeko-chan training Alice-chan once again, Rei-chan went to go back into reading the Quick Learn Skill Book, since I told its purpose, and Saya and Lillian went to start making plans about the garden. The only ones left was Derierei and I, who was shyly tapping her foot on the ground.

"This is what I decided, Derierei-chan. I hope you don't mind." I told her with a smile, and there was a *Ding!*, a sound that I had gotten used to, but I ignored it as I watched Derierei-chan shuddered a bit.

And I continued to watch as she made short, meek steps towards me.

The former will have Shizuka and Derierei focus first on a much more fleshed relationship, before Derierei would slowly rope in the girls.
