Chapter 3

Wei Lian approached the room and opened it. She dismissed the maids who were in the room and sat by the chair that was close to the bed. She checked the bandage and saw that it had been changed.

She studied the man slowly. He had a handsome face indeed, strong jawline with a pointy slim nose. His lips were slightly pumped, his chin a little studded by hairs that have started growing.

He had jade skin which was smooth, one only important people would posses. He had long shiny black hair which reached his mid back. His body showed that he did physical exercises on a daily basis, as he was lean and fit.

She took the rag off his forehead and washed it again in cold water and put it on his forehead. She got up and went to the door, calling a maid towards her.

"Did he drink his herbs?" She asked the person. "He refused them" the servant replied. She nodded and walked towards the bowl where the medicine was.

She poured it into her mouth and slid on the bed. She put the mans head on her lap before leaning towards his mouth and opened it slightly. She then opened her mouth and let the liquid escape into his.

She could feel him wanting to close his mouth which made her go down more and put her tongue into his mouth, letting the liquid flow freely into his.

Once all the liquid was gone, she pulled away and laid the mans head back on the pillow. She got up and went to the small bed that was on the ground. She got into the sheets and laid there.

She didnt understand why she wanted to help this man recover but she was condemned to. She closed her eyes and let the sleep takeover.

In another place, there was a man who was pacing in a grand throne room. He had on a red long robe that had a phoenix on the back. On his head he had a simple crown and let the bottom half of his hair flow down.

"What do you mean he is lost? Where is my son General Ai??" The man screamed into the empty hall. The General who was bowing on one knee looked up to the man and looked down again.

"Forgive me your highness but we looked everywhere for him. Not even his body could be found or a trace of it" the General said, looking down in regret.

"Now listen to me and listen to me clearly. You and your men will go out and go find my son. If you do not come back with him, don't even bother showing your face here because I promise your death will be immediate" he said before he turned and walked out the hall, followed by an eunuch and guards.

Wei Lian was awoken by a cough. She slowly got up and stretched her tight shoulders. She looked towards the man on the bed and saw that he sat up slightly.

She got up and walked towards the figure and saw that he had closed his eyes. "Your awake aren't you?" She teased as she put he hands on her hips.

"" the man said nothing as he slowly opened his eyes. He stared at the girl in front of him. "Isn't it unlady like for a unwedded woman and man to sleep in one room?" He asked the girl, looking at her intensely. "It is. But in our case that is my bed you are sleeping on. Hence I cannot be in the wrong to sleep in my room" Wei Lian replied to the man.

"Where did you find me?" He asked her as he sat up. "In a field of lilies. You are lucky we found you in time" she said to him. She went to where there was a tea cup and poured the water that was inside into a cup and gave it to the man.

"I thank you for your generosity" he said. She nodded as she went behind the screen to change into her training gear. She walked out and saw the man had been looking at the outside window.

"Are you hungry? Would you like me to bring anything for you?" She asked. The man looked at her and nodded. "Anything would be fine thank you" he replied.

She nodded and went out the room. The sky was still black but had a hint of blue. She went to the kitchen and heated up the left overs of dinner. She picked them up with a try and put them in front of him.

She had prepared for him chicken herbal soup for him to able heal quickly. She opened the door and put the food on the small table in the middle of the room.

He walked towards the table and sat down next to her. "Will you be eating with me?" He asked her.

"Unfortunately I won't be. I will be eating with my family" she replied to him. She poured tea into his cup and hers and they drank as he tasted the soup. He ate all the food an finished his tea.

"Thank you for the meal. I enjoyed it" he said. "As long as you can get well soon so we can get you home, that is all I am hoping for" she said.

"What is your name little one?" He asked her. "My name is Lu Wei Lian and what is your name?" She responded. "You can call me Zihao" he said to her. She nodded, before getting up.

"Well I am going to go train. I will inform the maids to prepare a bath for you. If you need me please inform one of them" she said as she bowed and left the room doing what she promised.

She went to the training ground and thanked the girl who was guiding her. Her cousin Zhiqiang was already there. "Ah, finally sleeping beauty has decided to grace us with her presence" he said sarcastically.

She stuck her tongue out to him as she walked towards him. "How unladylike you heathen" he said teasingly.

They both took a sword and looked at each other. "Since I do not know what grandpa had taught you and how far along you are, let us spar and I will see what needed to improve" he said to her.

She nodded and went into a stance. He charged to her and she blocked his moves. She calculated which moves he might do in the moment and got them right. As he was about to charge her from the top, she went down and swiped her leg under his. He fell and she put the sword towards his neck.

"Well I see you are a little above the average. Now lets begin the training" he replied as he got up.

They trained until the sun was clearly visible. They parted ways and went to their respected rooms.
