Yvette Johnson

As I woke up, I grabbed my cheer uniform out of my fancy bag and put it on in the bathroom next to my bedroom. You know, one of those masters bedrooms that have those bathrooms in them. I sighed and smiled at myself in the yellow and green cheerleading uniform. It has the words 'YHJ' on the front imprinted for 'Yvette Hailey Johnson' and I smile as I recognize that I am going to be perfectly fine. I have nothing to worry about.

"Darling! Jacob's here!" My mom shouted from downstairs. I put my shoes on and rushed down the stairs.

To fill you in, Jacob is my boyfriend. We have been dating since freshman year. He's a senior now and I am just entering my junior year. He gave me the biggest promposal as I was a sophomore and he was a senior. It was the cutest thing ever. He is the quarterback of this year's football team. I grab my cheerleading bag and I rushed down my stairs to find Jacob in front of the stairs, holding flowers for me. I smirked and walked to him, wrapping my arms around his muscular waist.

Him and I then proceeded to walk out of the house, out of the door, and onto the driveway. He held my hand as we looked out at the sun. I looked at him a little bit weirdly and he gave me a small little smile, and then a nudge on my shoulder. He is like one foot taller than me, which sucks, but I have agreed to live with. Not my fault I am in love with a tall guy.

He opens the passengers' seat for me in the brand new SUV he bought for himself and I hop right on in. He closes the door for me, as he walks over to his door, opening it and hopping on in. I honestly shrugged and he puts his hand on my cheek, leaning in for a kiss. I leaned in back at him, but I pause as we are kissing distance from each other.

"Babe, I don't know if we should exactly do this. I have cheer practice and I don't want the other girls to smell 'boy' on me." I said, and he chuckled a little bit.

"Yvette, you'll be fine. Besides, no one can smell 'boy' it's not a perfume you buy in the store." He said, and I finally gave in.

Now we are tongue tasting each other, as some people would say. It feels good to be around the sweet warmth of him.

After a while, he decided to stop making out before the sex in front of my mom's house got out of hand. Well, we stopped before it turned into sex. He drove me to the cheerleading practice, and opened up his door, walked around to open my door, holding my cheerleading uniform as I walked to the other girls. I see my two homegirls Rebecca and Priscilla together chatting with each other.

"Hey girls, what's up?" I asked them just to check in on how they are doing, and they smiled, hugging me like I am the head cheerleader that I am.

"Nothing much, just thinking about how great today could be if there wasn't that stupid games thing tomorrow." Rebecca said and I looked down at her bag imprinted RRR on it for Rebecca Rose Roberts.

"You'll be fine. Besides, none of us are actually going to get chosen. Right, guys?" I said to them, and they shook their heads.

"We know what the envelope looks like. It'll be simple to find out if you get into the games by a letter." Priscilla said, as she showed us a picture of the designated letter her aunt got twenty years ago. Her sister is now 34.

"So, that letter determines our fate," I said and the both of them nodded.

Priscilla's aunt was named Brianna, so she got a blue letter with light blue ribbon tying the little letter together. I sighed as I started paying attention to the cheer coach to get my mind off of it. I do not think that I am going to get one of those letters. I think I am going to be perfectly fine. I will be safe. No one in my family has ever gotten one of those letters.

I shrugged and as Rebecca and three other girls set their hands out for my foot, I placed it on top, putting myself into one of those fancy cheer poses. I smiled and then did a toe touch and down back to the ground with my girls keeping me safe in their hands. I shook my pom poms and did a little routine that the coach asked us for. I don't know how to act about the letter, I just know that I am not going to get one.

"Breaks ladies!" The coach said, as I went over to grab my water to drink on for a small bit. I ignored thoughts of the letter. I know that I am going to be perfectly fine.

"Yvette, you're not scared? You're not scared of the letter?" Rebecca asked me and I shook my head, looking around at me.

"What the hell should I even be scared about?" I asked them and they looked at me like I was stupid. Like I am supposed to be concerned about something.

"You should be concerned about the letter, Yvette. This is the letter that seals your fate." Rebecca said.

"Alive." Priscilla added, and then Rebecca chimed in.

"Or dead." She added.

"Break's over!" The coach said, pulling us into a cheer circle, as four girls are lifted into the air and fallen back into the laps of the other girls.

I smiled and held my pom poms out for the other girls to see. One of them was green, and the other was yellow. I sighed and tried my best to forget about that stupid ass latter that the girls keep ranting to me about.
