Just The Beginning

Everyone is now in their respected waiting rooms with their expected eyeshadows on their face. Bethany in her blue shirt and blue lines, Yvette in her yellow shirt and yellow lines, Phoebe in her purple shirt and yellow lines, Priscilla in her pink shirt and her pink lines, Gianna in her green shirt and green lines, October in her orange shirt and orange lines, and Rebecca in her red shirt and red lines.

"Hello everyone. All of our contestants are now in their waiting rooms. Therefore, we are going to let all of you guys out at the same time." The announcer said to everyone.

~October Hennings~

I start to get a little more nervous than I was earlier, if I can even be more nervous. I gulped and almost choked on my spit. I know that I am not going to make it out, so what is the point honestly?

~Yvette Johnson~

I am rather mortified. I am built for makeup and beautifying everything I see, not for being in an arena full of people fighting for my own life. I feel this panic shiver, and I just jump out of my chair and onto the floor out of fear I am assuming.

~Phoebe Pearson~

I am rather excited more than nervous. I am pretty sure I won't make it out, but it's worth the fun of it all. It's worth seeing everyone's anxiety on their face. I like seeing people panic sometimes. Sorry if that makes me sound like a weirdo.

~Gianna Gilbert~

As I start to feel the adrenaline of the game, I also feel excitement to be let out of this waiting room and into the actual arena. I can't wait to just win this competition already. I want this award more than the rest of them.

~Bethany Beelard~

I just want my life. If my life wasn't dependent on this game, I would be perfectly fine with anything. I just want to make it out alive. I just want to defeat everyone else. There are six people standing in the way of me and $200,000,000 and a chance at a normal life.

~Rebecca Roberts~

I sighed as I am officially ready to make more red. I hate killing people yes, but is it really enjoyable to die myself? No. At this point, it is everyone for themselves, no matter who you're competing against. In an arena like this, it's do or die.

~Priscilla Pearson~

I shrugged and thought about it like nobody's business. I see the glass keeping me from the one thing that can keep me alive, but that can also kill me: The arena. It isn't an actual arena, it's sort of a simulation of the forest, but it is in a big snow globe-ish thing. Yes, it is a literal globe. I don't know how these games are legal, but they are I guess. It's all about survival now.

~Narrator~

As the hunger is at the button to let everyone out, he smiles and then turns his megaphone on and then shouted the words.

"GO!" He shouted, aggressively pressing on the button as everyone started running out of their waiting rooms.

The first thing that happened was the announcer made another announcement.

"The first week, you all are staying alive. No one is allowed to kill anyone, but you are allowed to hurt others, or steal their equipment." He said, and everyone listened, finding camp in their own areas.

~Yvette Johnson~

I have been looking for hours to find a safe location where I can set myself up. I finally found it. It is right by the river and I decided to set myself a campfire. I sighed, remembering that I literally know nothing about survival. I look to see Rebecca and Priscilla partnered together. I walked over to them, to see what they're doing. They created some bow and arrows from scratch.

"Hey guys." I said, and they smiled, hugging me.

"Hey! Do you want to help us hunt?" Priscilla asked me and I nodded.

"Sure." I replied, and they gave me a bow and arrow that they made. It actually works pretty good.

"My dad used to be one of the very professional bow and arrow creators back in one of his times." Rebecca told me as she started loading her bow with some arrows she made of twigs and flint.

"I snuck it in." Priscilla said and I gulped.

Are you allowed to sneak stuff like that in here at all? I don't think so, but I'm not snitching.

~October Hennings~

I sighed as I looked around the environment. I notice Gianna and I walk over to her. Her first immediate reaction is to point the bow and arrow at me. Little did she know, I had one too, and it was better and stronger than hers.

"What do you want?" She asked me and I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Well, Gianna, I want to work together. You know a lot about survival, I know a lot about the games since my cousin won last decade. We could help each other." I said, and she raised her eyebrow at me, going back to adjusting her homemade bow and arrow made of twigs and then looked my way.

"Fine. Grab your things. We should find camp." She said, and I grabbed my twigs, following her.

"That's all you have?" She asked me. I gulped, thinking I did something wrong.

She just ignored it after that and we kept walking. I noticed a hidden flint and steel, grabbing it as fast as possible, so that we can light fire with it. I guess it was left behind from a decade ago or it was just hidden by the hunger to distract everyone. I don't know and I don't think I should care to be honest.

"Here's a good spot. It's right in the middle of the trees. We can chop them down to make a home we can live in during the games." Gianna said and I nodded, listening to her as I brought out the flint and steel.

"Th-this might help." I said, showing her the flint I found.

"This would help! Thanks October!" Gianna said, taking the flint and putting it in her pocket.

~Bethany Beelard~

I walked over to the water, trying to drink as much of it as I can until I find a cave. I also see Phoebe walking towards me and I gulped, hiding the opening to the cave. Phoebe opens up the spot that I tried to hide and raises her eyebrows at what she sees.

"Bethany, this isn't a cave." She said and I looked confused.

"What is it then?" I asked her and she pointed at something.

I look at what she was pointing to and I realize how badly I've messed up. This isn't a cave. This is a bear's den. As the bear moved a little bit, his eye peaked open and it looked at me, standing up and growling at the both of us. Phoebe and I both screamed as we ran out of the den, the bear chasing after us. After Phoebe went a different direction, the bear decided to take my direction of chase, and now I am running faster than ever.

~Narrator~

Guess everyone is starting off great.. well, almost everyone. Seems like Priscilla, Rebecca, and Yvette are doing well. Same with Gianna and October, who already have the materials to make a fire. Can't say the same about Phoebe. But Bethany, will she make it? Will she? Read next chapter to find out.
