In an attempt to change the fate of his rat-kin people, Halifax seeks to ally himself with humanity's saintess, with whom he made a promise long ago. However, the plan fails and both he and the saintess dies, and with them, the dream they shared.
Only, it was not the end. To his horror, Halifax wakes up in the body of a human, now living in an entirely different world from the one he knew. Reborn as the youngest son of a minor lord, and given the name Hamelin, the former vexen overlord seeks to regain his former power and discover the truth about his second chance.
On his journey, Hamelin must plunge a peaceful town into chaos, wage war to expand his underground empire, and enter the elusive realm known as the Inverse, which holds a sinister connection between his new- and old world.
There is a hook, what happened to the human saintess. It is a fine hook in my opinion. I would love to see this book going in the clan building route, but adventure sounds nice too. What I like is, it actually has a mystery to solve.
REVIEW Narration: Decent and immersive Worldbuilding: Vast and detailed Character development: Nice and steady Character design: Outstanding Dialogues: Realistic and Lifelike Pacing: Not fast nor too slow Writing quality: Magnificent Execution of the Genre: Good pitch Story potential: High Updating Stability: Steady MESSAGE I am impressed with the author's writing style. Having mastered the language he was writing, I can feel its potential. I know that it was just the start of the journey and I hope the author could last until the end. Kudos and good luck!
The concept is very unquie. I have read about human turning into slime or human turning into goblin but this is the first I have seen a rat turning into a human. Though it is a new, the details and the plot of this book is so clear. The writing quality is at the best with very few mistakes making it more engaging. Looking forward for more chapters.
Writing quality is excellent. The pacing of the story is good and I like to read the main character's development. I am curious about this Lord of Pestilence and the priestess. Hope to read more about them. The world you build is also good though starting a new age for a clan that doesn't want it seemed a bit strange. All in all, this is an interesting read and the author writes so well. Keep on updating! :)
As I have only read a few chapters, my review will be a little shallow. Writing quality is top tier. That is something I want to point out first and foremost. Story development is a classic reincarnation story but with a monster twist(hehehehe pun intended). Anyways, cough*, the characters are pretty normal, nothing to crazy stood out. But that can be a good thing for this book, since the MC is already a grown man. Only problem I have is the world background. Subtle details on the world around the MC are always a good idea. So when walking down the streets in the city, do they have rat buildings? Are their open sewer piplines with glowing green sludge? Add in these kind of details and it will enhance your story greatly. Keep up the good work author!
I like the story so far. I can also sense a touch of mystery in this book. I like the poor and the way the story developed. Need some improvement about the author's feeling, how to express the feeling or the joy that you poured while writing. Keep up and keep improving
After only reading a few chapters, I honestly declare that I am totally hooked. The style of writing is totally wonderful, it makes it easy to get attached to the story. I honestly love everything about this book so far😍
Dark fantasy vibe while reading this, it's intriguing though. I read no errors from the author's writing, I can sense that the author really did a great job by polishing the chapters. Readers would be hooked just by reading the prologue. Give this a read!
I liked it :P
The author's own shameless review: If you like stories with a steady build, rather than stuff just happening, where the characters are properly motivated and have multifaceted personalities, this story could satisfy you. It is a rather dark fantasy setting, though, so it's not for everyone, but if you're interested in the darker sides of life, then you should check it out. If you do check it out, make sure to point out when the story fails to convince you. I look forward to see the flaws you can help me spot.
I liked it :p
I didn't expect that this would be a human turning into a rat, i got shock at first LOL. In anyways, this is a pretty interesting story that will surely hook the readers. I like this story even though i've only read a few chapters so my review i kinda you know... but i know that you have poured your blood sweat and tears while writing this story. I love your efforts in making the world background, the development of your story. Keep writing!
Aaah keep up the good work, i always thought the Skaven breed was cool so it's been refreshing to read this novel. good luck and remember to talk about the saint soon.
