(Chapter 43) Interviews

As the doctor arrived, sweat was forming in on his forehead. This family was something that most people had no idea lived in Italy. But the government had distinctly told some of the best doctors in the country to make sure they are treated well. So imagine the fear when he got a call that the Young Miss was Poisoned! She already was quite ill with a disease that nobody could identify, if she died then...

But when he got into the mansion, he was quite surprised. He had clearly seen the sanitary pads on the table... But he was a professional and walked up to Mrs. Tuhs with a stern look.

"My daughter was poisoned, I have saved the food she ate but I'm afraid that you won't be able to find anything on it." She gave the doctor the information she knew. And let him do his job.

The doctor took a look at Astrid. Despite being pale and clearly weak. She didn't have a ripple of emotion in her eyes. "Alright, let me have a look." He spoke as he took out some syringes to do some blood tests.

As he took Astrid's blood a group of people arrived and came into the living room. They brought in many types of machinery that Astrid had no idea what they did. She didn't react as the doctor tested her blood.

Upon seeing the quick result of the test, the doctor retested using a different sample of blood. Seeing a similar result, he was quite happy with what was done.

"Your daughter will be fine after a day of rest. The poison used is incredibly weak, and only useful on ill patients. But since your daughter had widely recovered, she won't feel any effects after rest." The doctor replied and started to clean up, it was relatively mild compared to some of the cases he had worked on. But he still sweated from fear.

Mrs. Tuhs was relieved. "Alright." She said as she then took out her phone and messaged her husband.

As Astrid was the patient. She was sent into her room to rest by the doctor. But she was quietly connecting dots in her mind...

.......

Astrid walked out of the warehouse with little expression on her face, after her night of rest she was perfectly fine. But she was told by her mother to read up some information about her body. And she seemed pretty set on Astrid going to the hospital to have a check-up.

Astrid first needed to go to the warehouse and interviews she wanted to see. She sat into the car as Stephan sat waiting for her.

Although he wasn't told the full story, Stephan knew that Astrid was poisoned the day prior. Hence why she was coming out of the warehouse again...

He would feel bad for the person who dared to poison Astrid, but he wasn't that kind-hearted. He had seen Astrid grow up from young, and his boss was making Hanxi Antarctica right now. So justice was served.

He drove her to her destination. Perugia, not that far from Florence. Where Hanxi was set up.

The city was bustling but still quite open. In this world, the roads were quite wide and the pavements were also wide. Hence the city looked open.

He stopped when he saw the large office building in the direct centre of the city, knowing that this is the most prime location that businesses could have, Stephan lightly sighed.

"Park in the VIP section." Astrid told him as she continued looking down at her phone. Stephan wanted to know what she was looking at, but didn't dare ask.

Astrid and Stephan parked and went into the private elevator, there was eye recognition, a key card, and a handprint needed to enter and use it.

As the elevator beeped, the doors opened. Showing a dark office room, full of dark brown wood. A black leather chair, bookcases, and a large window. Currently covered by a tinted cover. Making the room look quite ominous for Stephan's tastes.

But Astrid wasn't bothered, despite enjoying nature. The sight out of windows didn't entice Astrid. She preferred a dark working environment.

Astrid took a seat in the leather chair and started to type on her computer. Stephan continued to stand, now it looked like she was the boss...

But her young face made the sight look quite weird, so when the door was opened, the person looking at the sight could only be stunned.

"Mm, knocking is good manners." Astrid spoke softly, but the man seriously nodded.

"Understood ma'am. The interviews are starting in ten minutes." The man's native tongue wasn't Italian, but his understanding and speech was quite good.

Stephan took a glimpse of the man. He seemed to be Asian, he was at an average height, while also having a good smile on his face.

Because of his youthful face, he didn't look his age. He was actually 26, he looked to be in his early 20's.

"Wu, just call me President." Astrid then took out some paper from her desk and stood back up.

Wu nodded, "Yes president." He responded with respect.

Stephan's eyebrows twitched, just where did Astrid find the guy? He couldn't help but wonder.

Only people within the tech departments knew who Wu was. A hacking genius! They didn't know that when they were being hired by one super genius, they would meet a legend of the hacking community.

The hackers all were attracted to this company due to the skills of Astrid, she also gave them extremely beneficial contracts. Which non could turn down...

Especially when they still allowed to hack! They were given the right to hack into the mainframe of their own company! The security had been created by Astrid, and it was the perfect training and fun for them all.

Astrid also guaranteed their protection while they were still contracted to the company, all these benefits. And they were required to build a large online web. One full of connections for Astrid, while also being another defense mechanism against other's trying to hack into the database.

Astrid followed Wu through to the interview room. Since the tech department was on the 3rd floor. They completely ignored them. Going straight to the ground floor, where a reception area and interview room were set up.

Astrid sat herself to the side of the three chairs. She had brought Stephan with her to be a decoy, since he looked so prim and proper all the time. People would assume he was the boss, not giving much thought to the young girl to the side of the other men.

And so it began, the interviews for the day. Every single interviewee gave some surprise when they saw Astrid sitting beside the two men while looking down on their phone. But thinking it was either a distraction tactic, or she was related to the boss, who was the man in the middle, they ignored her completely.

Little did they know, is months in the future, most of the country would be wanting to see the identity of the boss of Astrid's company. Not knowing that they had shared a room with her and thought she was irrelevant.

The interviews lasted 7 hours. It was why Astrid had taken the day off school. She was 'ill'.

Although Winoa knew the truth, she only told Francesca and Leone the same story, Astrid was ill, and she didn't know when she would be back in.
