(Chapter 44) She Is The President!?

"Why would you like to work at Auxill Corp?" Stephan asked the same question in the same tone he had done for the others previous.

The man who was sitting on the chair looked confident. He was wearing a shirt with jeans. He looked quite professional from the way he carried himself, to the way his eyes shined.

"For the opportunity to offer you something no one else believed in." He spoke with confidence, as Stephan's eyebrows raised.

"Explain." He spoke as he wrote down something on his notepad. The man then had a slight glance at the girl looking down at her phone.

He was confident sure, but for some reason he felt some pressure when looking at this girl who looked uninterested. 'She must be the man's niece or something.' He immediately concluded, of course no knowing she was going to be his future boss at all...

The man then took out his phone and turned it to show Wu and Stephan.

They both took a look at the man's phone. Despite it being a flip phone, they could see the notes written on it.

But Stephan inwardly frowned, why did this man use a flip phone to show them his notes? Couldn't he just use paper?

Wu read the notes with seriousness. This man was someone his boss had taken great interest in accepting into the company. He wished to see why she had that interest in him.

But his core was inwardly shaken. This... Wasn't it just mad? There was no way the sports industry would almost triple in profit and revenues over a year. It just seemed ludicrous.

"Your theory here... Could you explain your thoughts?" Wu asked the first question, he wanted to see the response he got.

The man was quite shocked, despite his outward show of confidence, the man was quite low in confidence. He had taken his theory to many large companies, thinking that they would be able to understand his thoughts. But he was sent away after one look.

"Despite sports being quite popular here in Italy, it currently lack the investment needed to become extremely popular. But I believe with the increase of international competition, within 5 years. The individuals, and teams would all start to invest more. Obviously meaning more profits being available from the industry." He gave his response. Making Stephan look back down at the phone.

'It makes sense in theory but... That is extremely risky. No wonder no other companies would be interested in the man, but...' Stephan then knew then sometimes, great profits would be earned not from qualifications of intelligence. But with great research and understanding. Sports were indeed big in Italy, but only in a few select sports. Some others have been experiencing a decline in popularity, so the investment was currently quite low.

But with sports like football, it was clear how much money was hanging around. Italy had fallen behind in terms of talent and money in the sport. But what if the owners behind the clubs started to invest big like others? There would be huge opportunities.

As Stephan was thinking over the idea. Astrid made her first move in the 7 hours she had been there. She put down her phone, and picked up the man's phone to read over the theory.

The interviewee was surprised and went to say something, but seeing the two men not be bothered by the girl's actions. He swallowed his words.

That was a good idea. Astrid had clearly been targeting this man and just did a quick test. If he showed any dissatisfaction, she wouldn't hire him no matter how much profit he could make her.

"It's a good theory, but it is that. A theory, it seems extremely risky. If there any other reason we should hire you?" Stephan used some of his skills. To put pressure on the man.

Which he did, the man froze up. Indeed, it was a theory. No matter how much he could think up a way to make an immense profit, he only made a theory... No actions had been taken, it was so risky that most companies would call him crazy if he told them the theory... Which they did.

The man was frozen, he didn't have any great credentials. He was just 20 and thought up the theory in his own free time. This was the first time going into the world of work, and now he understood what his mother was on about.

The world is difficult and harsh. He might be smart sure, he might have a way to make a profit, but couldn't prove things would go the way he theorized. In this world, profits and losses were used to establish worth. And right now, he had nothing to his name...

Seeing the man not being able to respond, Stephan said nothing. He was waiting for Astrid...

And on cue, Astrid put down the phone and looked up at the man. The man shivered under her gaze, she looked at him calculatingly, as if deciding how much money he could make her...

"It's a theory. What do you think would happen if some of the football teams decided not to invest?" Astrid then spoke her first words.

The man thought about his response for a minute. "They would be replaced, the football world is brutal, lack of investment would bring a team loses." He answered, making Astrid look down at the table.

"Indeed, so how about I ask you about your theory from a different perspective?" Astrid's eyes then shimmered. She was right to come to the interviews today.

"Lets say that we have a country. This country had built their houses many years ago, and the companies that had taken control in the infrastructure. Stopped innovating, stopped investing into making newer and improved housing. What do you think would happen?" Astrid then asked a question that baffled everyone in the room.

Stephan's eyes then held understanding. If the man could think of this theory for sports... Then what if he applied his theory to other aspects? But with some more critical thought?

"The people would undoubtedly be upset, maybe their stocks would lower and someone else could replace them and start to invest... But then it would be a cycle, unless..." The man thought about the question seriously. Before concluding.

Astrid's eyes had narrowed. "Good, the government would then step in. So if the government took control of the development of housing, then the land underneath would be worth more." Astrid then gave the man a shock.

"So if you wished to profit from football you shouldn't invest now but later? Just before someone else invested, and make profit from their investments." He had now learned, this girl was someone sly, and obviously important to this company.

Astrid nodded. "Good, now you are using your brain. Why spend so much money investing in something risky when you can get someone else to spend their money and you benefit from it? So then, I would like you to have a look at this theory I crafted." Astrid then took some paper from the pile beside Stephan's and pushed it to the man.

He took it and started to read seriously, he didn't get any degrees in business or financing, but he was good with numbers. So seeing some of the numbers on the paper, his head turned numb.

"You have potential. You are someone worth teaching... Henceforth, I would like to welcome you to Auxill Corp." Astrid then put another document in front of the man.

He was stunned. It was a contract? Right here and now? He looked at the girl, and saw she was completely serious.

"You..." He couldn't keep his mouth closed, he was sure there were many people more talented than him. He based his confidence on the theory he crafted, but it was clearly flawed. But now he was given a contract here?

"Of course, for continuity, this contract would be offered to you after the interviews are finished. So for now, I would like you to check your emails when you get home. I sent you something." Astrid spoke casually, as she stood up.

"I'll be taking my leave now, the other interviewees are nothing special. Conceited or trying to undermine us already. Some smaller companies even decided to send a few spies already. Just follow protocols." Astrid spoke to Wu and Stephan, she had seen everyone she wanted to. And now was quite hungry.

"Understood President, do you want me to have someone drive you back?" Stephan asked, he emphasized President on purpose.

Astrid shook her head. "No, I'll be going around the city for a bit." Astrid walked out of the room using the side entrance.

The man had a blank face, as he looked at the two men's respectful faces as they watched the girl leave.

"P-President?" He mumbled under his breath. Did they call the girl the President? Is she the owner of the company!?

"Mmm, you're quite lucky to have caught her eye. Now, I recommend doing whatever she told you. I will be seeing you next month." Wu spoke to the man and smiled at him. Personal teaching from his boss... The man was quite lucky.

Just three months ago he didn't know anything about how to run a business without it falling apart. Now, he was able to calculate loses and gains without much problem. Also able to know how to act during meetings, and how to create effective plans.

The man dumbly nodded. His boss was going to be girl that looked to still be in school... But at least she was pretty...
