(Chapter 64) Another Bidder

"...Going once... Going twice." The host started to countdown.

"1.5 billion." Another bid was placed, causing the hall to fall into silence and disbelief.

Astrid's face didn't falter, she just raised her card again. "2 billion."

The host was now sweating. He had never been involved in an auction that would go like this! 2 billion for one item... Was he hallucinating.

The man who bidded previously raised his card again. "3 billion." He had a tinge of smugness in his tone while bidding.

Lewis was looking at the hall with a strange expression. "Investigate him." He quietly ordered Viviano, who bowed and left quickly.

"... Going once..."

"4 billion." Astrid then lowered her card after making that bid.

The man looked back into the crowd to try and get a better look at the woman who was trying to outbid him. "Is that your final bid?" He asked with a smug, and confident tone.

Astrid looked to number 44, the person bidding her up. She couldn't see his face clearly. But the voice was something she would notice from a mile away...

"It is." She spoke calmly, as if she wasn't bothered about possibly losing the item she was willing to spend so much on.

The man had a sparkle in his eyes. "I see, I offer the necklace of princess Savannah and 4 billion euros." The man made a new offer.

The host was stunned, the entire hall was stunned. And Astrid was slightly surprised.

What was the necklace of Princess Savannah? It was a relic from the previous dynasty of Spain, it was said to be in the hands of the royal family. But had been sold off at an auction for charity for close to 2 billion euros...

"... Going once... Going twice, sold. Crown of Queen Moisaik to number 44 for the price of 4 billion euros and the necklace of Princess Savannah." The auctioneer wiped the sweat away from his brow.

... 4 billion Euros! It was crazy. The crown of Queen Moisaik was only estimated to be worth 200 million. It was now sold in the auction for 20 times that amount! And more!

Astrid didn't show any emotion on her face. As the hall was put into silence as the next item was slowly put out on the stage.

.......

The auction ended with Astrid not buying what she wanted, she went into the after-party and went to get herself a drink.

She took a sip, and then another. Her elegance was shown to all who looked at her. She was shinning within the hall full of men...

Astrid paid no attention and took another glass with her outside. She was wearing a loose crimson dress. It reached down to her knees and then was met with 2-inch heels.

She wore no necklace, leaving her bare neck out for the world. But the dress hid her cleavage, making her seem even more seductive...

Most of the men couldn't stop gulping when she came into their sight, they couldn't recognize her from the auction since most of them couldn't see her...

But the middle-aged man who sat next to her could remember her. He took his drink and spoke to any potential partners. As he would remember that woman...

Astrid stood outside on the balcony with a drink in hand. She looked out to the now full moon with an unknown expression.

To her side, a group of women came outside to get some air. They were pretty and beautiful in their own rights, but Astrid was another level above the top level of beauty.

"Excuse me Miss, who is your date tonight?" One of the older women asked with an amiable face and tone.

She asked that because they all assumed that Astrid was some rich man's date for the night. Considering how beautiful it was, it wouldn't be a surprise.

"No ones." Astrid replied with a slight smile, but her face was still generally cold.

The group of women all looked at Astrid differently. They were all married to rich businessmen. Those men could get away with adultery quite easily. So they now all assumed that Astrid was with someone and hiding their adulterous ways from the man's wife.

"Tch, disgusting." One of the women coldly snorted.

"Mm, I agree." Astrid replied, making all the women look at her funny.

'Didn't she know they were talking about her? Look at her! She clearly has no brains...' They all thought, until Astrid spoke again.

"The silicone used in plastic surgeries could be from anywhere. I heard that some hospitals use the same silicone from other breast implants that have been taken out. I wonder what it feels like to have inflatable balloons on your chest at all times?" Astrid then cruelly battered most of the women there.

They had rich husbands, so they got surgeries to make themselves feel better, that was normal. But here was this woman making fun of their bodies!? They were now fuming.

"Hey slut! Don't you think that you can say all this just because you gave good pillow talk. Your man will be ruined within seconds if we ask out husbands to do something." The woman who snorted before was now glaring at Astrid coldly, she also had an evil smirk on her face.

Astrid swirled the alcohol in her glass and took another sip. "Interesting, doesn't Mr. Diter have 4 mistresses recently? Clearly they give better pillow talk than you." Astrid then stabbed the woman straight into her heart.

The other wives had already decided to stay out of the fight and watch it, the world wasn't forgiving, seeing how flustered Mrs. Diter was getting, her position was in danger.

Mrs. Diter flared in rage, but she couldn't respond with anything. She bit her lips in anger and she proceeded to storm off.

She was a woman who had a strong family backing, she was the daughter of a big mining facility in Croatia, she had been in Italy most of her life and was given the position of Mrs. Diter when she was a teenager.

She loved her husband, but as age reached her and him, her attention was on their children, while his was on his business... And other women. She obviously couldn't accept that. But couldn't let her husband's dirty laundry to be hung for display for much longer, or she might be divorced on the spot.

She had a vile look on her face as she went back to her husband, before slowly morphing into the calm and collected housewife look she was taught since a child...

"Miss Borjan, a message arrived for you." A waiter then came outside and bowed with his hands out.

On his hands was a piece of paper with a message on it. The other women all left, they thought that this Miss Borjan would be an easy fight or they could get information for their husbands, but they didn't wish to be so brutally talked to tonight.

Astrid took the piece of paper and read the message. She put the paper back into the waiter's hands. "Make sure to burn the paper, tell your master that I saw the message." Astrid spoke coldly, as she went back to the alcohol in her hands.

The waiter bowed and did what he was told. He stepped beside Lewis and whispered something into his ear while he was serving drinks.

Seeing the host suddnly frown the people who were bootlicking where obviously tense. "Is something wrong CEO Guilliano?" One of the men asked with a careful tone.

One must know to respect the Guilliano family, they already held such a strong position in Italy, but under the leadership of Lewis they expanded rapidly across Europe. The rich men of Europe now were careful not to step on his toes.

Lewis's expression went back to normal as he raised his glass. "Apologies, let me take a toast of apology." He drank his wine in one gulp. Causing the businessmen to garner more respect for the man...

But now, Lewis's gaze was semi-focused on one area, the section of the balcony where a lone woman was leaning against the side with a glass of wine in her hands. A subtle, but cold smile on her face...
