(Chapter 65) Women Lining Up

"CEO Guilliano, let me introduce you to my daughter Leah, she is currently attending Havard university for her degrees." One of the businessmen introduced a beautiful young girl beside him.

She was wearing a pale blue dress that exuded an innocence that men Lewis's age would be interested in. Along with her beautiful face and good skin, and her smarts. She was a good candidate for marriage... Mr. Ditter, Leah's father thought.

Leah curtsied, "It's nice to meet you Mr. Guilliano, I have acknowledged your work since you took over the position of CEO." She had a smooth and silky voice. Along with enough cleavage shown to make a man desire more. She was the perfect bait.

Lewis nodded blandly. "Nice to meet you Ms. Ditter." Lewis responded with little interest.

But that little interest was enough for Leah to have a blush creep on her neck, she moved back behind her father, as other businessmen started to introduce their daughters to Lewis.

Lewis did the same interaction with every female. No matter how good their qualifications were, no matter the family background, no matter how beautiful, cute, pretty, innocent they were. He kept responding blandly to them.

Mr. Diter left with his daughter and wife and went into the corner. "Did he... Like me?" Leah asked with blush forming on her cheeks. She had been in love with Lewis since young, she had seen him at a banquet where his identity was hidden. But she always kept going on about him to her father.

"Of course, the fact you introduced yourself first made an impression on him. He responded blandly to the other girls just like you. He won't be able to get my baby out of his mind." Mrs. Diter reassured her daughter. When she heard years ago her daughter fell in love with a good-looking boy she immediately protested, how could her daughter fall in love with a boy without a confirmed identity?

"Mm, he made eye contact with you for longer, be confident in yourself." Mr. Diter blandly spoke, he wasn't good at speaking with his daughter. But knowing she was in love with him and met with Lewis in the past, he brought her along for the after-party.

But he and his wife were previously against the idea of their daughter falling in love with a boy with nothing, when they heard the same boy that their daughter was in love with was the new head of the Guilliano family, they immediately got their daughter to make some 'chance' encounters.

She was a student at Harvard and studied business management, at the time her mother was against the idea of her taking the course. Since she should be more 'female' like. While here dad couldn't care about her. She only needed to be married to a good man in the future, and thought business management would give her an edge over other trophy wives.

Lewis had been to their business a couple of times and had an 'encounter' with Leah before, she was working hard and had a slight amount of sweat on her forehead at that moment.

Lewis had gazed at her for a while before going back into the office. That was when her lies to her family begun...

'He talked to me amiably, he was favorable of me instead of others. He spoke to me.' These lies were fed into her parent's brains. As she filled her own head with silly delusions.

A flash of determination came into Leah's blue eyes. 'I swear, I will marry you my love. And I will get rid of all roaches around you so we can live peacefully and have our children together... Hubby.'

Meanwhile, Astrid was now inside the hall picking up a few bits of food here and there. It was all fancy food that was small in amounts and there were only tarts for dessert. Astrid practically hoovered all the tarts up quickly and then became disappointed as there were only savory foods from then onwards.

Out of the corner of her eye, she then spotted a familiar face within the corner of the hall. She blinked from surprise, before slowly moving her way to the corner.

Leone had chosen the path he wanted to take after leaving school. He went into college and studied law. After leaving college he joined a famous law school and had moved out of his family's house.

Because of how he had such a low profile, people didn't know that a Guilliano was sitting in the corner of the room on his own. Not caring for others, but just sipping wine quietly.

But then he saw a slightly familiar face start to walk up to him. His face turned slightly sour seeing it. As he ignored the woman who was now standing a few meters away from him.

"I thought you matured, become independent, and wasn't childish anymore. So why are you acting like a child?" Astrid asked in a low tone as she sipped her wine.

Leone felt his eyebrows twitch at rapid speeds. "I don't seem to know the person who left the country without telling her friends. She then came back without telling anyone and I only knew from another person, not being told personally." Leone spoke in a harsh tone, something that wouldn't be possible 3 years ago.

Leone had matured and become quite good-looking, but it was now more than obvious to Astrid that Leone. Was indeed the black sheep of the family, the Guilliano family had a distinct body build and eye shape. Leone was slightly too thin and had softer eyes. He also didn't look like his 'cousin' whatsoever...

"Mm, I guess I should apologize, but I won't. We all needed time and that time now passed. You also learned how to be independent. So I will congratulate you on entering law school and becoming the best student in the country." Astrid spoke blandly, giving Leone the familiar feeling that he had missed.

"Haha, I guess we did... But god, you have gotten tall." Leone mumbled under his breath. With her heels, Astrid was the same height as Leone...

Astrid didn't respond to that remark, women often felt they wanted to be as tall as men. And she was, and understood the feeling men could have while looking down at people.

"I guess bro invited you right? I thought the voice in the hall was familiar. Why didn't you bid higher for that crown?" Leone now spoke in a lower volume, the walls had ears...

Astrid nodded to the first question. "Out of my price range." Astrid simply responded, making Leone shut his mouth.

'I'm sure if you asked bro for the crown he would have paid you to have it! I wondered why he was being secretive inside his special room and now I know!' Leone would love to have blurted his thoughts. But he might be strangled to death after saying them...

"Make sure not to drink too much. You're welcome around any time." Astrid then slowly walked away from Leone. Making him speechless.

'Isn't that my line? I'm meant to be a responsible lawyer while you are a docile girl? Right?' But he knew more than anyone that Astrid wouldn't stand him speaking to her like she needed protection.
