(Chapter 68) Lunch At Home

Astrid slowly started to set herself up. Upon looking down at her 'work' she felt another wave of thirst.

She took another bite from Mr. Gorden's neck underneath her, and then licked her lips. After shaking away the last nibble of thirst she had a look at the news.

'Gorden Enterprises announces rapid sales of shares to an unidentified buyer.'

'CEO Gorden involved in child trafficking and linked to multiple murders throughout the region of Sicilly'

'Gorden Enterprises announce bankruptcy, as the company's shareholders continue to sell shares at a low price.'

'CEO Gorden missing! The man must answer for his crimes, please contact ********* if any information is available.'

Astrid gave a cold smirk. As she put down her phone and helped herself to her shower.

Cleaning away all the bodily fluids away from her *Cough* region, and also the blood away. Astrid came out of the shower to see no evidence of Mr. Gorden being in her safe house.

"Did you find anything Winoa?" Astrid asked as she prepared herself a drink from the fridge.

"Yes Miss, it appeared that the Yuke family wasn't invited to the banquet and that the Necklace was sold to a subsidiary under the Yuke family." Winoa never mentioned what she saw. And continued her report.

When Winoa first learned of Astrid's bloodlust. She felt like her worldview was cracking, during Astrid's time in England. She had heard some rocking come from Astrid's room, thinking something was going on, she stormed into the room ready to fight.

Never. Ever, did she expect to see what she did that night. You could say it scared her. But she then learned more about Astrid. And now understood more about her than ever before.

Astrid's eyes were in her full view that day. Astrid couldn't control herself. As she went on a 3 day rampage after not intaking any blood for a couple of months. She quickly learned how to place her learned skills at hiding bodies, and hiding a crime scene.

But what made her scared. Was her expression. She wasn't cold or emotionless like normal. No, it was a sadistic, cruel smile. As she looked down on the female and male victims under her. Her eyes shone a cruel and heartless light. While she continued to move her body even when she noticed Winoa was watching her.

"What, you want to join?" Winoa could never forget those words, no, she was barred from ever forgetting.

"I see. Did you locate the item I wished for?" Astrid asked as she started to do her work.

Winoa slightly lowered her head. "Apologies for my incompetence, the enemy had hide the item well. We lost the track at the port of Cagliari." Astrid then sighed.

"A shame. Make sure to zone the other ports and harbors, make sure it wasn't a diversion. Check airport customs too." Astrid then started to go through her many emails.

Winoa bowed and left the room, this base was one built a couple of years ago. It was the same design as others Astrid had, so Winoa easily went to the gym inside the base...

The safehouses were only known by Astrid's most trusted subordinates. Also known as the 'devils hands'. For the reason that the contact the underworld had with Astrid, was through the ten important members under Astrid.

Astrid had trained most of them and made them undyingly loyal. Let alone Winoa, Wu was also included, as he had an affinity to combat and also sly plans. Something Astrid wished to help Winoa in.

Astrid then proceeded to make a couple of phone calls and consolidate her gains overnight. Most crucially, the acquired shares in Gorgen Enterprise.

She obviously couldn't revive it as is. So she was planning to make a ghost CEO, to transfer into the subsidiary of Hanxi.

Gorden Enterprises specialized in containers and shipping, within Italy they controlled 80% of the exports from the country. While the other 20% were foreign companies or smaller Italian businesses.

Because of this set up, Astrid could now monitor a lot of the imports and exports into the country. Not that she could legally do anything about them...

Legally, she would be ruined if she influenced any imports into the country. But say if some mafia families had raided the supplies... That would be a shame, and the law enforcement's responsibility.

.......

After the entire morning of consolidating her position, she left the rest into Wu and Moustof's hands. As she took a couple hour drive back home.

"Ah, it's nice to see my daughter can find her way home again." Mr. Tuhs greeted in his customary sarcasm. He and his wife heard late that Astrid wouldn't be coming home, so they weren't that happy.

But the one even more upset was little Anya. When she woke up and didn't see any sight of her sister. She bawled her eyes out. Screaming and wanting to see Astrid. So When she spotted Astrid she ran straight into his legs and gave Astrid the strongest hug she could muster.

Astrid chuckled as she felt Anya clench her suit. "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. See, I'm busy. So promise me that you will be good in the future okay?" Astrid proceeded to bend down and give Anya a light kiss on her forehead.

Astrid pulled away Anya's blonde hair away from her ears. Both the daughters carried their mother's hair and face. While Anya had softer eyes, while Astrid had her father's sharper eyes.

Anya gingerly nodded and wept in Astrid's embrace. She was scared. She liked her sister, she didn't know why she couldn't see her sister apart through a screen. So when she saw in her person again. She never wanted to let her go.

But when she woke up without her sister insight. She panicked, did her sister leave her? Did she not like her? Did she do something wrong?

Anya was a small child. She was obviously upset, but seeing her rapid dependence on Astrid. Mr and Mrs. Tuhs were becoming a little worried. Only a few days had passed, and now Astrid probably couldn't leave the house without Anya again...

"Come on Anya, let's eat." Astrid lifted up Anya and went over to the table, as lunch was beginning to be served.

"Is Winoa busy?" Mrs. Tuhs asked while the family was eating.

"Yeah, she should be done in a few hours." Astrid calmly replied while feeding Anya a bite of a sandwich.

That was when Mr. Tuhs' phone went off. Astrid looked at her father with surprise in her eyes. He was a person who never answered calls when with his family...

Both Mrs. and Mr. Tuhs shared a glance. "I'll take the call." Mr. Tuhs quickly took the phone and answered, walking to the front door.

Astrid didn't think much of it. Her father was a CEO and was busy. If it were a major issue, she would be told anyway.

But Astrid failed to catch the smile on her mother's face that seemed to be a little excited. As Astrid's attention was fully on filling Anya's small and cute mouth with food...
