(Chapter 79) Astrid Got Drunk

Lewis then felt that this dinner date was the best thing he had ever thought of in his life. He had made multi-billion deals, had took control of one of the most prestigious families and controlled the Italian mafia.

But none of that made him as happy as right now, he was entranced as Astrid took bites of every single meal presented to her. A subtle relaxed and calm smile on her face. With the subtle naked makeup and amazing dress that showed her every explosive curve... *Cough*

He felt he was in heaven for the day watching her munch on various food. Her small mouth would open and she would momentarily freeze when she tasted the food she had eaten.

Astrid didn't notice the fact that Lewis hadn't even started eating for a while. She was so occupied with her food. She couldn't feel a burning gaze on her face for a while...

But she then realized that Lewis hadn't touched his food. With a slight frown, she looked up.

She was only to be shocked. Their eyes met, as she clearly spotted an emotion pouring out of Lewis's eyes that she couldn't understand. She then gulped and took a sip of wine.

"Are you not eating?" She asked with a baffled look on her face, the food was amazing. But not as good as when her mother cooked for her...

"I am." Lewis curtly replied, which Astrid just frowned in response. He hadn't even lifted his fork yet!

Lewis, was eating something else. He was intaking all of Astrid's emotions on her face, he felt that food would be the best way to get to her heart... 'Maybe I should learn how to cook... She would be enamored with me if I could cook.' Lewis then smiled, at the excellence of his plan.

Astrid was just confused, seeing Lewis randomly smile like a won a lottery while he was just staring at her... She didn't know what she was feeling.

.......

The manager was shocked speechless when he came in to clear the plates, he noticed that all of the plates had been finished... It was 6 dishes and only the appetizer. But seeing the ever so subtle color of lipstick on most of the cutlery... He felt his view shaken.

'Is Mr. Guilliano feeding a pig? But how could a woman so spectacular and elegant eat so much so quickly?' He didn't say a word, he just cleared away. And prepared the next bottle of wine.

The wine wasn't to be drunk all at once. Just a few sips along with the meal. But Lewis noticed that Astrid had drunk a lot of wine. A silently cursed himself as he realized that he would be the one filling up the glass every time...

Astrid finished her glass of wine and placed it down onto the table. Lewis couldn't see it but, Astrid's vision was starting to slightly blur as she looked at the wine bottle.

*Cough* "I think you should hold back on the wine Astrid. I don't want to be murdered by your father later." Lewis joked, Astrid had drunk a few glasses. It wouldn't be enough to make her drunk, but he didn't want to explain that to her father.

Astrid then frowned. "Holdback? No." Astrid spoke... In a very upset tone.

Lewis... Looked at Astrid with a weird feeling. 'Don't tell me she has no tolerance for alcohol?'

"Astrid... How good is your alcohol tolerance?" Lewis treaded on thin ice. It was only lunchtime, he didn't want Astrid to be drunk for the rest of the day.

Astrid was left in thought. "Uhhh, I think the alcohol here is stronger than I'm used to." Astrid mumbled, which was right. The alcohol in her previous life was no problem for her. But for some reason she now couldn't handle too many glasses.

But Lewis took it that the restaurant's bottles were stronger than what she drunk normally. He remembered the wine cabinet from Astrid's base and sighed. 'She can't take alcohol. At least I learned that.'

But she then found something strange. She drank often during banquets and parties, so why was she so affected now?

Astrid smiled and looked at Lewis. "Why did you dress in a purple suit? I think you suit blue much better." Astrid blurted out her thoughts. She felt the purple looked weird on him, it didn't make him look strong and powerful, which he was.

Lewis chuckled. "I wanted to show off my collection. But I guess you don't pay much attention to male clothing." Lewis was now much at ease with speaking clearly. If Astrid was more willing to talk, he could make more conversation...

Astrid put her chin on her palm and looked at Lewis. "I pay enough attention. You do know I wear quite a few male clothes right?" She also leaned forward to stop the blurs affecting her eyesight.

Lewis gulped, Astrid's position... Was revealing to say the least. He had a perfect view of her cleavage... And honestly, the first word he could describe it was massive. He never judged people on looks of body types, but Astrid had an hourglass figure with voluptuous curves... It was unfair to the other women of the world. Who could only hope to achieve what she has through surgery.

Astrid then pouted, the glistening shine of her lipgloss along with the wine made Lewis's body heat up. "Why aren't you answering me?" Astrid seemed to be complaining...

'I made a mistake, I made a mistake, I made a mistake.' Lewis couldn't stop chanting in his head. He didn't know Astrid would turn so... Bratty, when drunk.

"Astrid, could you not do that?" Lewis asked very, very calmly. He had blood circulation flowing down to a specific place, as he averted his eyes.

Astrid's forehead then creased as she looked at him with anger visible on her face. "Not do what? Show my body off? Do you not like my body? Did you not like me, if you want me to be in your bed you should at least like my body." Astrid started to raise her voice.

Lewis felt a headache coming on. "Astrid. I very much like your body but... I don't just want you in my bed." Lewis felt like he was explaining a complex math puzzle to a 5-year-old child.

Astrid looked at him like he was an alien. "You don't want me in your bed? Why date me then? You can get the same benefits from me if you just remain a partner." Astrid's voice was starting to lower in volume.

Lewis sighed. "I want to date you so I can get your heart... I want you to love me, and I want to love you." Lewis quietly explained with a smile.

Astrid looked at Lewis. She couldn't discern if he was lying... She felt he was telling the truth... "Love isn't a word in my dictionary. Love is nothing but rubbish, You can never get my heart." Astrid then spoke in an ice-cold voice. She was extremely serious.

Lewis sighed once again. "Why are you so adverse to love? Love is a natural response, a human emotion. Don't you love your parents?"

Lewis thought he worded himself quite well. But seeing Astrid's expression shift to an emotionless one. He suddenly felt he made a mistake...

"Love my parents? Do they love me? They look at me as an experiment, a tool. Do you know how many years I've tried to get their attention? Hmm? How many days without meals? How many tests I did? I hacked into the security of the FBI to show off my skills to them. That woman looked at me and then proceeded to strap me into an electric chair to send shockwaves through my brain! So you tell me!" Astrid then exploded. Her expression cold, but also very, very lonely.
