(Chapter 82) Making Himself Comfortable

*Sigh* Carmin let out a sigh as he stopped his car back at the hospital.

"Tch, why are you still sighing so much? Does it bother you that much?" Susie was quite upset, her boyfriend seemed to be defeated right now...

"I am bothered by it. Truthfully Lewis had sent me over a document last night about her. It was her medical history." Carmin leaned back in his seat and thought back to last night.

"Okay... So?" Susie couldn't understand, she wasn't a doctor for a reason.

Carmin rubbed his forehead. "Well, some of the best doctors in Europe were called to try and diagnose her illness almost 7 years ago now. She had been struggling with a weakening body since she was young, but her body was starting to rapidly deteriorate physically."

Susie nodded as she looked at Carmin with a smile. She had the look of 'the girl next door' but she also could stand out in a crowd with her looks.

"But, none of her organs were impacted, her bodily functions were fine. But she got weaker and weaker. Her blood was tested, any test you can think of was done. And nothing was found. So they could only diagnose her with a common cold. She had a slight fever. But that was it." Carmin explained as he then took out a document from the sun shield.

"Her body then rapidly weakened. Leaving her in a poor mental and physical state. But some of the most esteemed doctors in the world could do nothing, they didn't know what to diagnose her with. Since they didn't know what illness she had. They had to go research her illness..." Carmin then opened the document and showed Susie a photo inside.

"They found this. Astrid requires some sort of blood intake. When they first theorized it they had to test it on her. So she was transfusioned blood and... She showed improvement. After this revelation, the doctors still couldn't diagnose her. But after 4 months of stable transfusions, the treatment suddenly... Stopped." Carmin's eyes sharped at the document. He had reached far to collect the document this morning, and was planning on holding a meeting to find out more information.

"What? The treatments stopped!? Why?" Susie couldn't believe it. A doctor's job was to save lives. So why would they suddenly stop a treatment for?

Carmin smiled. "Ironic isn't it? These people are touted as some of the best people in the world. Being able to cure diseases and being charitable. But they suddenly stopped treatment on a young girl... Do you want to know why?" He then asked Susie as he closed the document.

Susie nodded. As Carmin took a deep breath. "For some reason, she was placed on a global watch list. At the age of 13, she was labeled as a dangerous person. Someone who made one wrong move, would be imprisoned for life. Or probably executed." Carmin gripped the folder hard.

Susie gasped. "But-But..."

"How does that make any sense? How can a 13-year-old sickly girl cause any issues right? She had no hacking skills to speak of. She couldn't get out of bed after a year. It is illogical." Carmin had his own theory, but he couldn't tell Susie. He didn't want to worry her...

Susie nodded with a heavy head. "Anyway, she is okay. I wanted to run some tests but I don't think I have the guts for that. She has a loving family and a man madly in love with her. She'll be just fine." Carmin reassured Susie. He knew nothing about Astrid. So he had no idea about how smart she was, how she was in control of her father's business. And how dark her mind was...

.......

"Who are you?" Winoa's voice was deadly as she spoke down the phone. She had just called Astrid, but then a man had said hello...

"Uh, it's me Lewis. Astrid is currently at my family house." Lewis was quite scared hearing Winoa's voice. It made him feel like he had just kidnapped Astrid...

Winoa inwardly sighed. "Is she asleep?" Winoa asked as she started to prepare her car.

Lewis smiled. 'You have good friends...'

"Yes, I had someone reliable look at her and he gave me vitamins and recommended sleep." Lewis explained as he continued to hold Astrid's hand.

Winoa stopped for a moment. She had been thinking on the wrong lines for a moment... "If she fell asleep she does it on occasion. As long as she is back before night time tonight then the Youngest Miss will have no reason to complain." Winoa then reminded Lewis was a headache.

'Damn, I forgot that Astrid said she would be coming home. I can't just say she is in my room can I? Then again, her attendant and best friend doesn't seem too bothered...'

"If she wakes up I recommend steering away from anything sweet. She will probably want to eat a lot of protein." Winoa left Lewis one left sentence before hanging up.

Lewis sighed. He didn't expect that call to come through at such a bad time.

He put down Astrid's phone and looked back at her. She was still breathing quietly and wearing her clothes. He didn't dare try and change her himself. But he also didn't want any maid to see her body... "Oh well, I have nothing to do anyway." He mumbled under his breath. As he got underneath the blankets with Astrid.

He then decided this was the worst idea of his life. He could feel her warmth. Feel her curves. Even hear the subtle breathing of the girl he had fallen in love with. His blood flow immediately circulated as he started to feel his own pain.

"Shit." Lewis cursed, as he slowly turned to his side. Then freezing when he saw Astrid's face.

She still had her makeup and contact lenses in! Lewis was now in a dilemma. But his reasoning won out. As he quietly got out of the bed. And called for some makeup remover.

The butler was frozen as he saw his Master walk to him with a scuffed suit asking for makeup remover. Then also making sure no one went into his room no matter the reason...

'Gosh, I'm to have a heart attack today.' The butler couldn't help but run around and tell the maids to not disturb the Master. They might be traumatized if they walked in on anything...

Lewis got the makeup remover and cleanly did the job personally. After a few minutes. He looked at Astrid's naked face for himself.

He noticed some differences between the one he had seen before. It seemed like at the charity auction she had worn a face mask too... He then looked up a video online of how to take contact lenses out safely. He didn't pry her eyes open, as her lenses seemed to be easily removed, hence not seeing something that would change the course of their relationship in just a matter of time...

After that, he once again got under the quilt and gently moved Astrid to a better position. He laid against her back and spooned her... He then reached his arms around her stomach, as he tried his hardest not to think about anything.
