(Chapter 81) A Quack Doctor?

The staff for Lewis's private jet was motionless. As they robotically completed their actions while checking the jet back in Italy.

Their boss had gone from Italy to France with an incredibly handsome man. They guessed they were friends, but they also had some weird fantasies about their boss, who had never been spotted near a woman, with that man.

So when their boss got out of his car with the most beautiful woman they had ever seen in his arms. They were all frozen in place. Their boss arrived with a man, and came back with a woman.

But then his next words made them all the state they are now. "This will be your future madam. So make sure the flight is stable." His death stare was given to the pilots. As they shivered from fear.

Lewis landed back in Italy and looked beside him, he had Astrid leaning her head on a pillow on his shoulder. It had been an hour or so since they left their date.

He found it a little strange Astrid hadn't woken up yet though. He had carried her multiple times, drove in a car, then flew in an airplane. And Astrid hadn't moved once. Her breathing was extremely quiet. And he was honestly a little worried.

He called a contact on his phone and went back to the main mansion. He made sure to enter through a secret entrance to dodge anyone who could see Astrid. He ended up in his bedroom and sighed.

It wasn't exactly the way he hoped Astrid would first end up in his bed. But he placed Astrid down gently and put her under the covers before removing the table cloth off her. He couldn't risk losing any more blood...

But the sight of her in his bed undoubtedly turned him on. After Seeing a range of emotions on Astrid's face he had them all in his head. He felt he had fallen even deeper into the hold of love...

.......

"Excuse me. Your Master called me here." Outside the gates of the Guilliano mansion. A man in a car peaked out of the window to talk to one of the guards.

The guard looked at the man with a confused expression. "Sorry Mr. Carmin, but Master hasn't advised us of your arrival today. I can't let you in." The guard knew the man to be one of his Master's friends. But rules were rules.

Carmin sighed and sent a message to his phone. "Is he messing with me? I missed an important meeting for this?" He was upset, was he being played with by Lewis?

The guard then went into the security room and answered a phone call. After hearing it he quickly went outside again. "My apologies Mr. Carmin, it is our mistake to not let you in at first. You may enter." The guard apologized with a small smile.

Carmin sighed as he looked to the passenger side to see the other guard open the gate. "Don't worry about it. He didn't even tell you all I'm coming and he was home, it was his fault." Carmin rubbed his forehead as he slowly drove on the gravel path.

The guard smiled. Carmin was one of two people that were the new Master's friends. They had always been welcomed and both showed good manners and being polite to even the servants. So they were well liked around the premises.

.......

Lewis held Astrid's hand lightly as he heard his door open. "Carmin, have a look at her." Lewis didn't even turn. But knew who is was straight away.

"Sure, sure." Carmin replied half interested. He wanted to see the girl he had investigated first hand. But was annoyed that he had to miss an extremely important meeting...

"Tut, don't act like you aren't excited Cam, didn't you run out of the meeting hall so you could see 'the golden hen'?" A female voice then teased him from beside.

"Tch, be quiet Susie. So what happened to her Lewis?" Carmin stopped his girlfriend from exposing him too much.

Carmin then walked up to the bed to see his patient. When he saw her face, he was stunned. "I see... Are you sure I'm qualified to treat her?" Carmin's voice lowered, he had seen Astrid's picture along with her medical treatments before. Lewis hadn't told him the connection between Astrid's picture and the girl he had been talking about...

Lewis lightly coughed. "Don't worry, I believe in you. She is also the same woman I have been trying to look for." Lewis decided to come clean. Before Carmin got the wrong idea.

Carmin felt his eyebrows jumping. "Right... Excuse me for a second then." Carmin went ahead and removed the bedding over Astrid's body.

Carmin then froze. "What's wrong?" Susie asked curiously as she peaked over Carmin's shoulder.

Susie had a grin over her face as she looked over to Lewis. "You were on a date?" Lewis scratched his hair.

Carmin just sighed. He then put his hand over Astrid's wrist for a few seconds.

He had been learning Chinese medicine in his free time. He felt he should use that here...

But then he frowned. He quickly took Astrid's other arm and checked her pulse.

"No... That shouldn't be possible." Carmin mumbled. He then went to take off the entire blanket.

Before his hand could take it off. He felt a sharp pain on his arm. "What are you doing?" Lewis was very, very angry. Carmin had not only touched Astrid's left hand... But also her right... And now was taking off the cover.

"I need to check her vein circulation. Idiot, do you think I would ogle over a woman when I have Susie?" Carmin shrugged away Lewis's arm. As he then placed his hand around Astrid's arm.

Susie watched with no sign of jealousy. How could the person she loved be a doctor and not see the occasional woman? Even naked? She trusted him as it was.

Carmin then let go and went into thought. "You said she fell asleep from drinking and hadn't woken up since right?" Carmin asked Lewis as he moved his attention.

"Yeah." Lewis then took the liberty to cover Astrid again with the cover. Just leaving her face in view.

"I recommend leaving her to sleep for now. She shows signs of intense sleep deprivation and even malnutrition... Also... She seems to have stomach cramps." Carmin stated as Lewis stared dead-on at him.

"... Alright, I think she might have some intense period pains. Just basing on the blood flow she should... But it also didn't make sense..." Carmin looked back at Astrid. He was sure he wasn't wrong. Her pulse seemed to be so crazy it couldn't be real. It was almost like she had two hearts inside her body! The amount of blood flowing inside her just didn't add up.

"Explain." Lewis had lost his happy mood and now was in tragic mood. He very much trusted Carmin's skills in medicine. He managed to study enough in a couple of years to the same amount that others took half of their life to achieve.

"Well... I don't know if I could describe it to you. I would need to run blood tests on her." Carmin didn't want to misdiagnose something. Especially when he had seen something he was uncertain about.

"No blood tests. You said she is malnourished?" Lewis threw away the idea of any blood tests. He was traumatized by Astrid's crying earlier. It seemed she was experimented on a lot... He would never accept anything like that now.

Carmin sighed to Lewis's refusal to a blood test. "Yeah... I mean, she doesn't look malnourished, doesn't show any signs of it physically. But... Her pulse was indicating she was malnourished?" Carmin was truly baffled. He now understood why the doctors before all misdiagnosed Astrid. How could she be malnourished by blood levels if it were like she had two hearts in the first place? And looking at her body she clearly wasn't malnourished...

Lewis took a moment to think. He couldn't understand the idea of Astrid not getting enough food. He had just seen her eat 5 appetizers only 3 hours ago. He knew how much she ate only a few days ago... Was his friend a quak?

"I'll recommend some vitamins for now. Let her sleep as long as she needs as well." Carmin wrote down some things in a notebook he pulled out of his pocket.

Lewis nodded and sighed. At least it wasn't awful? But it still wasn't normal... "Well, I guess we should be going now." Susie spoke up, she could just smell the overprotective boyfriend vibe from Lewis when Carmin just held her arm. And she also couldn't help but feel a little jealous when looking at her... Assets.

Carmin nodded. "I'll treat you, I'll make a reservation for you later." Lewis said offhandedly. Making Carmin and Susie smile.

"You better." Carmin humphed as he and Susie walked out holding each other's hands.
