(Chapter 95) Her Favorite Place

"Well... Hello." Carmin was standing at Lewis's desk. Introducing himself to the woman he had treated a couple of months ago. And had investigated ever since. His friend was staring him down with clear warnings in his gaze. While the woman was staring at him emotionlessly... But he was still fearful.

Let's take it back a few hours. Astrid woke up early as per usual, and message Lewis she would be going to his company. The receptionist was stunned hearing the big boss had a guest coming, and was told by the secretary not to offend her in any way.

She received a photo of the woman and was amazed, she looked like an international model! But her spectacular face and body weren't her main attraction.

Her most defining feature. Her crimson eye. It was both captivating, and terrifying at the same time. The receptionist then saw in her person, and felt the photo couldn't do her any justice.

Just who was that woman? Was she the boss's girlfriend? But the boss had never been seen anywhere near a girl before...

Astrid looked at the receptionist, who was eyeing her coldly. As the receptionist snapped out of her thoughts. She saw that gaze, and shivered.

"Please take the first elevator on your left Miss Astrid." The receptionist smiled. As she showed some professionalism.

Luckily it was first thing in the morning and everyone was working. So not many people spotted Astrid going into Lewis's personal elevator.

When she arrived in the office, she was first greeted by Lewis who had a smile on his face. He was generally happy. Since Astrid had listened to him about her eye. That meant she was becoming more comfortable with herself.

Astrid and Lewis sat in silence. But it was peaceful and tranquil for the two of them. Lewis was signing and checking documents, while Astrid was constantly sending messages, and also answering phone calls.

Then Viviano came into a surprising look. He first noticed the woman he didn't expect to see today. And was immediately caught by her eye.

But with a silent glare from his boss. He immediately shook himself away. And gave some documents to his boss. And started to talk about his schedule.

"Cancel everything before lunch. Call Carmin here." Lewis responded coldly, and Viviano was left no choice.

So here we are. Back to the present.

Carmin immediately caught Astrid's red-eye and widened his own. He never found this out! And it looked so real...

"Yes, it's real. You can touch if you feel like it." Astrid joked. But her voice was clearly tainted with warning.

Carmin coughed lightly, he had only seen Astrid when she was asleep, when he was investigating her, and from afar. So now being in her presence was quite stiffening.

"How good are you at eye exams?" Lewis asked in a leveled tone.

"... Umm, I'm not an optician?" Carmin responded. Before feeling a deadly chill.

*Cough* "I mean, I'm great. Probably the best in the country!" Damn this tyrant! Carmin gritted his teeth as the deadly glare from Lewis warmed up.

Astrid then smiled. "Good, I'm afraid you will have to diagnose me for having just the right amount of melanin and pigmentation in my eye to have mutated like so." Astrid's voice wasn't cold. But rather emotionless, but her voice was like the devil's in Carmin's ears.

'Damn! Here I thought she might be a nice person! It seems she is exactly the same as the demon lord staring at me! She must be his queen for sure!'

"Of course, but what about authenticity?" Carmin asked Lewis, he was afraid of Astrid just based on the fact lewis was facilitating her.

"Don't worry, your degree has already been placed. I also had some favors to hand in. So you might want to start studying to keep up your reputation." Lewis responded. Making Carmin burst with anger.

He thought he was coming here to check up on a harmless bunny! Now he was basically being forced to take up a profession he had no interest in!

But at least that meant he was trustworthy to the pair... He calmed himself down while biting his lips. "Okay. Is there anything else?"

"No, you can leave now." Astrid shooed him away, as she looked on her phone.

"Gladly." Carmin mumbled as he started to walk out of the office.

Astrid raised her eyebrows. "I heard your girlfriend is meeting someone today. Isn't he a co-worker that invited her out for a date?" Astrid chuckled. As she made Carmin run out the building.

Lewis laughed seeing his pet's feistiness. "No one will want to talk to you at your big debut banquet you know?" He commented, as Astrid hummed.

"Who cares? They will only be there because of my father and you, not me. Previously I might have had some fun myself... Mm, oh well." Astrid mumbled her last words. But Lewis heard them.

He stood up and walked over to Astrid. Putting her chin into his hands. "Had some fun hmm? What kind of fun?" He asked, clearly jealousy oozing from his eyes.

Astrid blanked for a moment. Before laughing out loud. "Haha. Don't worry Sweety, it's not like anyone is alive to tell the tale." Astrid revealed, not only to open herself up to him. But also to give him confidence.

Anyone she had any sexual relations with was all killed. Either as part of a way to manipulate their mind, or to release her tension. It was the best way to take shares from people without a loving partner. Forgery.

Of course, it was incredibly dangerous. If she got caught, she wouldn't see the light of day again. The government would notice it was her. But she was smart, she had killed many in the past. So hiding bodies was one of her forte.

Lewis then gave a kiss to Astrid. "Really? I wonder how I will fare then?" Lewis teased Astrid. As she subtly pouted.

She felt he made fun of her, but Lewis just wanted her to be more comfortable with herself, like he had said before, being a virgin with partners is stupid to him. This wasn't the medieval ages.

Was he upset about it? Of course, but not because of her past. But mainly he was upset with himself. He let her alone for too long, and she had no release. He should have been there for her. He should have made her comfortable with him quicker. He should have found out his feelings toward her faster.

Astrid calmed down when Lewis stopped kissing her. He then sat beside her, and then held her in his arms. Her new favorite place, it made her feel loved and protected.
