(Chapter 122) Some Misunderstandings

Astrid woke up with a familiar warmth surrounding her body, feeling Lewis's warmth around her, she subtly smiled.

"Morning babe." Lewis's voice was slightly rough, sign he had just recently woken up as well.

"Morning... What time is it?" Astrid asked as she snuggled herself into Lewis's arms.

"7... Stay in bed for a bit. I'll get you something." Lewis spoke butterflies into Astrid's stomach.

"Mmm." Astrid couldn't lie to herself, she was tired and still in pain. Losing the warmth of Lewis around her made her quietly upset, but knowing that he was doting on her... She was in euphoria.

Lewis was in a good mood, waking up with his arms around the woman he had fallen in love with was a feeling he could never get old off.

Astrid felt her eyes fluttering closed once again. Suddenly feeling her name being called, she opened her eyes slowly.

"Astrid, baby. Breakfast." Lewis put down a tray with healthy teas and also good food for Astrid right now.

Astrid smiled, Lewis couldn't help but feel his heart falter. Her smile was a little tiresome but also full of love.

"Thanks." Astrid thanked as she sat up against the bedframe. Yawning in the process.

Lewis watched as Astrid slowly started to eat. It was his first time seeing Astrid struggle eating... He wasn't accustomed to it, and could feel a pain inside him.

Astrid's 'slow' eating, was only a little slower than normal. But Lewis had good eyes for how Astrid eats. Just on the fact he enjoyed watching her eat food with a smile...

Astrid finished the light breakfast and put the multiple healthy drinks to the side, she then yawned again as she went to get out of bed.

Lewis frowned seeing Astrid getting out of bed. He then grabbed the quilt, and lightly forced it on Astrid. "Sleep longer, your work can wait... Your subordinates are capable enough." Astrid blinked, and just nodded.

Lewis was very serious, if she didn't know he loved her, she would be thinking he was angry at her... Which he was, but he only wished the best for her health.

Lewis cuddled with Astrid until she fell asleep quickly again. He then put his head into the back on Astrid's hair.

"Sleep well, my queen." His muffled voice came from his mouth. As he then got out of bed.

.......

At the dining table the rest of the family were looking at Lewis with differing looks.

Mrs. Tuhs was giving him a knowing look with a smile, Mr. Tuhs was in a grumpy mood and refused to look at the bastard taking away his daughter... Veronica was just happy that Astrid was in bed still, she felt she needed rest. While Anya was in a low mood and looking at her older brother inquisitively, asking with her eyes where her sister was...

*Cough* "Astrid is just resting for a bit Anya, don't worry. You can see her when she gets up." Lewis reassured the young princess, before they had a problem on their hands.

Anya nodded with an understanding unfitting a 3-year-old. Lewis felt his head hurt when looking at the other members of the family.

Then Winoa entered the dining room with a blank look on her face, in her hands was the meal for them all. Alongside her was her mother with their drinks.

"Mm, since Astrid is still sleeping, let's eat." Mrs. Tuhs adapted to the situation first, she knew that her husband would be sulking for a while.

They ate in a strange silence. Not awkward by any means. But it wasn't the same when half the family had the same idea of why Astrid was 'resting'.

After the meal, Lewis went into the kitchen and got a warm glass of water, in the process sending a message to Carmin. "The Miss should be fine after a few days. She should have some of her items in her bathroom." Winoa suddenly said behind Lewis's back.

Lewis turned and nodded. "Mmm, is it normally this bad?" He asked with an inquiry, but there was also pain in his voice which Winoa could detect.

Winoa nodded. "I believe so... The Miss doesn't show her weaknesses often though... I haven't seen the Miss take a break ever since she went to England." Winoa reported with vigor.

Lewis was very, very upset. 'Does she even work in that state normally? She said she doesn't feel the same amount of pain as others... How was she treated in her previous life?' Ever since Lewis started to understand Astrid's former life, he could only feel a burning hatred to those who were her 'parents' in her previous life.

"I understand... I won't interfere with your work, but I do have my opinions on the matter." Lewis said very clearly to Winoa his thoughts on Astrid working with no breaks.

Winoa nodded. She agreed, Astrid was an almost god-like figure in her mind. But Astrid worked damn hard. From the crack of dawn to midnight, she wouldn't stop. Astrid always refused Winoa's advice to rest and would always give any of her subordinates ample time to rest, but never herself.

She could only be in awe of Astrid. Her friend, her boss. But now she had someone beside her to balance her life...

"Also Winoa... I require your assistance with something." Lewis suddenly revealed, making Winoa enter her business-mode.

"What would that be?" She asked very dutifully, Lewis might be her boss' boyfriend. But she wouldn't listen to his every order.

Lewis smiled and spoke something into her ear. Winoa's eyes unconsciously widened. And she nodded her head vigorously. "I agree, I shall begin preparations immediately." Lewis had a smile on his face, it was something he had thought off for a while...

Astrid came in and out of sleep multiple times, her body didn't know how to react to the sleep she was getting. Especially in her current condition, which she would normally work through.

'I need to get up... Wu needs my presentation.' Astrid thought to herself, although the sleep was nice. She did have work to do.

It was her past life that drilled this into her, the need to do work. And constantly be plotting something, because of this, she now ended up on her phone sending some documents and messages to her secretary.

'Make sure to hit 14%. Any lower is a failure. But remember, milk everything out of them.'

'Understood boss, 30% it shall be.'

Astrid smiled as she put her phone down to the side, she was a little bored. And her red-eye was starting to twitch. A bad sign.

"Baby... Why aren't you sleeping?" Oh-oh, she was caught working.

Astrid smiled at Lewis. "I'm bored... Come on, it's already 10..." She had never gotten up so late in her entire life...

Lewis didn't budge though, he looked at Astrid's phone with a blank expression, and held out his hand.

Astrid pouted, and reached for her phone. Soloumly passing it over to Lewis.

"But I'm bored! I have an itch that I can't touch... God I'm thirsty." Astrid mumbled under her breath. And Lewis heard.

Lewis shook his head. Maybe her situation made her lose blood so she needed to replenish? But right now she couldn't be allowed to work...

"This will be confiscated until I think you are in a better state. If you are bored, let's go out for a walk." Lewis offered, with Astrid in two minds.

Lewis knew somewhat of what Astrid's boredom was. But he felt she was in no position to go into the underworld, she was in a moment of weakness and immense pain, the best he could do was give her fresh air.

Astrid sulked, but didn't say no. Indicating to Lewis that she was indeed very bored, he opened her wardrobe and picked out some very warm clothes for her.

Astrid slowly got out of bed. Lewis couldn't help but look over Astrid's body. Although she was sick, last night he still couldn't refrain himself. He had a painful shower before sleeping. But even when she wore loose clothing, Astrid's beauty shone in her laziness.

But then he spotted something very conspicuous. "Turn around for me a sec baby." He muttered in soft tone.

Astrid just did what he wanted and did so, she then felt a warm hug come from behind her. "Why tell me to turn around? It's easier to hug the other way." Astrid could feel Lewis's hot breath in her ear. And she was upset.

Lewis didn't speak for a while. But instead kissed Astrid's hair, over and over.

"Huff... I'm not in so much pain I'm glass... Is something wrong?" Astrid asked softly, Lewis's behavior was strange.

"No, just telling you how much I love you... Here, get yourself changed." Lewis let go and gave Astrid some space. The reason he acted that way suddenly might be related to her pain. And the fact he felt some products weren't good enough...

'Maybe I should buy some beauty stores for her... Mm, I'm still quite smart.' Lewis inwardly decided, as he let Astrid change in peace.
