(Chapter 123) Lying in Boredom

Astrid was very content walking with Lewis around the garden, she had a love for nature ever since she came to this world.

Seeing Astrid's smile and how she clung to him, Lewis was very happy as well. But he still had a few things floating in his mind that were bothering him.

"Babe, do you know how to paint?" Astrid looked at Lewis with a strange look on her face.

"I know the theory behind it but never painted personally, why?" Astrid asked, the sudden question from Lewis was sudden.

Lewis just hummed, ever since his grandfather retired he had started to do more things around the house. One of his hobbies was drawing, he just thought that Astrid would obviously know how to draw, so he asked about painting instead.

"It's nothing, let's get back inside. It's getting colder." Lewis said while holding Astrid's hand.

Astrid just nodded. She wasn't cold, how could she be? Especially when she was wearing the thickest outfit Lewis could find for her, and she was with him.

When the both of them got back inside the house, Winoa was already waiting for them with Astrid's drinks on her tray.

Astrid smiled and took one, taking a seat in the living room and took Lewis's words and decided to relax.

With Lewis alongside her, Astrid was basically forced to relax. She sat in the comfort in her home and decided to do something she doesn't do very often.

Watch TV, she might keep up to date to business news. But she never sat down to watch TV for fun before.

Coincidentally, one of Francesca's films was being played, so Mrs. Tuhs and Veronica brought Anya to also sit down and watch it.

Although Astrid could feel the two older women's smiles and gazes, she didn't really understand them. Especially since her and Lewis didn't actually do anything. She also was in a bit of pain still, so she wasn't paying too much attention to her surroundings.

Astrid took Anya on to her lap and they all sat and watched the film. It was a beautiful adaptation of an original tragic romance that was released in black and white. It was film Veronica and Mrs. Tuhs both watched when they were younger, it was one of Mrs. Tuhs' inspirations to become an actor herself.

The film was simply spectacular, although not everyone was perfect in their role. Francesca did close to perfect in Mrs. Tuhs' mind.

Anya didn't really understand the film but still watched it intently. While Astrid started to feel a little frustrated. Especially with Lewis's scent in her nose constantly.

Lewis took in Astrid's embrace and messed around with her hair. He was calm and enjoying watching a film with her.

"She definitely deserves to win an award this year." Mrs. Tuhs said at the end of the film. In which everyone agreed.

Sure, they were biased. But Francesca's acting was amazing. And probably the best of her age. It was only because she was a new actress and hadn't fully developed her fans yet that she wasn't quite fully world-renowned.

Sure, she was well known in Europe and parts of America. But it wasn't good enough, the competition for the entertainment industry in this world was much more difficult than it was for Astrid's old world.

"It's time for lunch." Astrid mumbled, she might not be feeling the best she could. But she still had a normal appetite.

And so they all had lunch together, excluding Mr. Tuhs, who had gone to work.

After Astrid had eaten, she started to feel some of her stomach pains again, so after a trip to the bathroom and Lewis waiting outside for her. Lewis made another call...

Within 20 minutes, Viviano showed up at the door with a bag full of helpful items for Astrid. He didn't dare stay for any longer than he had to. And left it off for Lewis and let the couple do what they wished.

Equipped much better now, Lewis went back into Astrid's bedroom where she was lying.

Astrid was lying in relative boredom. She was used to doing at least something, and now she was forced to rest for half a day...

"What's that?" Astrid's voice was slow and stifled by a yawn. She had been sitting doing nothing all day, yet she was still tired.

"Some more things to help you. Here, drink this." Lewis pulled out a plain white cup. It would pass as a coffee cup in a cafe if it weren't plain.

Astrid took it with no questions and started to drink it. It was warm and a little sweet. It tasted like a warm cup of liquid honey?

Although Astrid wasn't entirely sure what the drink was, she knew Lewis would only give her things that would benefit her. So when he pulled out some more pads to help her out. She understood that he was getting worried.

"I'll leave these for you... Sleep some more, as you say yourself, you are busy. So get some rest while you can." Lewis said in a honeyed tone, making Astrid have no way to resist.

.......

"Is this what my daughter came up with?" Mr. Tuhs asked Wu as he put down the pile of papers in his hands.

"Yes sir. The Miss gave me access to these plans when she left for England, she had been preparing and executing them ever since." Wu spoke respectfully to the father of his boss.

Mr. Tuhs let out a deep breath. These 'plans' of her daughters were incredible. Just the fact she had trusted Francesca enough to predict she would become a quality actress before she even made her on-screen debut was crazy enough. But it also included getting Veronica out of Russia and into Italy as well. She had planned everything, from even the days of the week she would attack a company and take their shares.

All he could say is that he was wildly impressed. They were so detailed even someone business illiterate could understand them. Let alone her subordinates who were fully trained by her.

"Alright, I'll make sure to prepare for the banquet. I appreciate your time Mr. Wu." Mr. Tuhs stood up and shook Wu's hand.

"No problem sir. You can call me whenever you need assistance." Wu said as he left a paper slip with his number.

Only a few people had the number of Astrid's secretary. Astrid herself, the other secretaries and people directly below them in the chain of command. And now Mr. Tuhs.

Mr. Tuhs smiled. "I appreciate it. If my daughter is too busy and there is an issue. I will remember to call." He spoke jovially, although he never expected to need the number. It would not hurt to have direct access to one of his daughter's secretaries.

Wu walked out under Stephan's guidance, when he got into his car. He then opened up his phone.

"Inui, the plan is moving on. Have you readied the men underneath?" Wu called the man in charge of Asian operations.

Inui smiled on the other side, no matter the time, he would always answer the call from his boss of the secretaries. "Of course, the Nogasaki clan is ready to take the spotlight. Of course, we only have the Miss to thank." Inui was very content. It was about time for his family to rise again, and he was more than happy to do it under a boss like his Miss...

Wu hummed and finished confirming details around the world. That's right. Astrid revealing her identity wasn't the only thing happening during the time of the banquet.

A multi-targeted attack on many of Astrid's targets. Not only the Yuke's but also businesses in Asia. Establishing stable trade across waters. Mines across the world. Setting up a presence in Africa, and starting to surround the American continents with her forces.

Astrid learned that in this world, the America's weren't heavily mined like they were in her's... Meaning the number of valuables possible to mine was enough to drown herself in. And she was becoming a greedy woman when it came to these things.

She wasn't just greedy for her own wealth. But also the security of her family, if she owned tens to hundreds of mineral, gold and silver mines. Then their family would never be low of money in the future. And money would always make the world function, no matter the world she lived in.
