I'm sitting at Jayden's bar, surrounded by people but I don't see Jayden. For some reason I feel really nervous.
I walk outside and see even more people, everyone's drinking and partying and swimming. I walk inside and decide to go look for him upstairs. I open the staircase and walk up to the living room, I see someone but it's not Jayden. It's Vince.
He turns his head and sees me standing there, and then he walks over toward me. "I will be down to join the party in a second, I am just... trying to collect my thoughts."
I feel a wave of sadness hit me, so I grab his hands and look at him, "do you need to talk, Vince?"
He leads me over to the couch and we sit down, before he sighs. He plants a kiss on my lips and pulls me into his arms, "I am just not ready to lose you yet, Rose. I know that you won't fall in love with him for sure, but I have a feeling. But I may be just worrying myself, we should get back downstairs, he'll be here soon."
I lean forward and give him a long, passionate kiss. When I pull back, his eyes are full of sadness, but he tries to smile. "Are you ready?"
I look at him and slightly nod, but I'm not really ready.
He sighs and gets up, and then he helps me up, "no matter what happens, I'll be okay Rose. I want you to remember that."
He takes my hand and leads me back downstairs and to the pond. We sit on the edge and dip our feet in, but then I get a weird feeling.
I feel like there's a different kind of presence, I know that there's someone there for me. Vince and I stand up and he leads me to the other side of the waterfall, I haven't been over there before.
"Are you ready, Rose?" Vince asks.
I swallow the lump in my throat and nod my head, and then I close my eyes. I hear something hit the ground in front of me. I open my eyes and Arcadia is standing in front of me with his wings out, the sight of him makes my heart explode and butterflies go crazy in my stomach. I look around but Vince is gone already, and my heart drops. I don't want to lose Vince.
"Arcadia."
"Hello, Rose."
He starts walking toward me and with each of his steps, my heart beats faster and faster. He stops right in front of me and grabs my hand, planting a kiss on my knuckles.
He looks at me, "I know this may not be what you wanted, Rose. You are in love, and that is okay. You do not have to leave him, I am with somebody right now too."
"You have always been my best friend Arcadia, I have always loved you as that. I am afraid of loving you like this, and I don't want to lose Vince."
"I know. I have felt the same way, I knew that I loved you a long time ago and that is why I have not been around."
"You knew we would fall in love?"
"I did not know we were destined to fall in love, I only knew that I loved you. I figured that I had just fallen in love with you on my own. But here's what we will do, we will go to a cabin to find our destiny. Once we find it, we will come back, and then you can be with your love and I will be with mine. We will find our way to each other when we are ready"
"When will we go to the cabin?"
"We shall leave tonight, I will be back to get you soon, go say your goodbyes, we will be back in a few days."
Before I can say anything, he turns around and flies off.
I turn and start walking back toward the waterfall, looking for Vince. I reach the waterfall and everyone is gone. I go inside to look for Vince and he's not in the living room so I go up to his bedroom and he's not there either. I open the staircase to the balcony and he's standing by the edge, watching the water.
He turns and sees me, "I am sorry I left so quickly. I wanted to give you some privacy in case..."
I walk up to him and plant a kiss on his lips, before grabbing his hand and putting it on my chest. "My heart beats for you, Vince."
I want to tell him the truth but I decide against it. I fell in love with Arcadia, but Vince is the man that I want to be with, the only man I want to love.
"I have to leave for a few days, to go find my destiny. We are leaving tonight, I came to say goodbye. I love you, Vince."
He leans down and plants a kiss on my lips, "do whatever you need to do, I will be here waiting for you. I love you, Rose."
I turn and walk away, feeling sad. I make my way downstairs and outside, and then I go to meet Arcadia.
He's waiting when I get there, standing with his wings out, "we will need to fly to the cabin."
I look down, embarrassed, "I can not fly very well. I have only tried a couple of times."
He nods his head, "okay, are you okay with me carrying you?"
I look up at him, nervously.
"Do not worry, Rose. I am very good at flying, I will not let anything bad happen to you."
I nod my head, "okay."
He takes a step toward me, "you will have to put your arms around my neck, and hold on tight."
I reach up and put my arms around the back of his neck and then he puts his arms around me and lifts me off the ground, "are you ready?"
I nod my head and then bury my face into his chest and close my eyes. He tightens his grip and then we lift up in the air. My heart starts pounding, my life is completely in Arcadia's hands.
"Look," he says, gently squeezing me.
I open my eyes and we're almost in the clouds, I look down and see trees and mountains and fields.
"It is amazing right?"
"It really is." I reply.
"You will fall in love with the sky, I shall show you one of my favorite places. It is on the way to the cabin."
He starts to fly faster and then he flies up and we do a loop in the air. We laugh in the air as my fear disappears more and more. He dips down toward a field full of flowers. He flies right above them, and then let's go of me with one hand and holds his hand out to catch flowers. He reaches back to hand me the flowers.
I smile at him, "this is beautiful."
"This is not even the best part," he says at he starts slowing down.
He flies up a little bit and then gently lowers us to the ground. He sets me down and holds out his hand, "we shall walk the rest."
I take his hand as we walk through the field, we stop at a ledge. I look down and there's a beach and then crystal clear water as far as I can see. The bottom of the water is filled with beautiful, colorful rocks and shells. The beach has a bunch of palm trees and the sand looks so soft.
"Do you want to go down there?"
I nod my head, excitedly.
He brings out his wings and holds his hands out for me. I put my arms around his neck and then he puts his arms around me and flies us down to the beach.
"This is amazing!" I say as I look around.
"I know, I would love to live here if I could. The best part is that it is protected from fallen angels, besides me of course. You must fly to get here so the only people that can come here are angels."
"How come you can be here if it is protected from fallen angels?" I ask, curiously.
"I am actually the one that asked the witches to protect it, it has always been my safe place. Most places that are protected from fallen angels have an exception, Arcadia. Whether it is me or the past or future Arcadia's, the witches know that Arcadia should have never been fallen."
"You know witches?"
He chuckles, "yes, I know many witches and I can sense that your friend, Vince, is also a witch."
"Do you come here a lot?"
"Yes, almost every day. We shall get going though, it's getting late. We will come back soon."
I nod my head and he opens his wings, so I walk over and get ready to leave. He flies up and we start heading to the cabin.
We stop in the woods and he sets me down, "we will walk from here, it is hard to see from above the trees, we are close."
He holds his hand out so I grab it and we start walking, until we eventually see a cabin. For some reason it seems familiar.
There's a pond with a swing in front of the cabin, and then a stone path leading up to the cabin door. We walk up the path to the door, and he holds it open for me.
We walk into the living room, it's pretty decent sized and has a nice fireplace in front of the couch, I go explore the rest of the house. The living room opens up to a cute little kitchen, and there is a bedroom on each side of the house, each with a small bathroom connected.
"We shall get ready for bed, we will start working on our destiny tomorrow. You may take the bigger bedroom, there are clothes in the dresser for you. Goodnight, Rose."
He starts walking toward a bedroom but I stop him.
"Goodnight Arcadia, thank you for everything you showed me today. Will you teach me to fly tomorrow?"
He nods his head and smiles, "of course, sleep well."
He walks into one bedroom while I walk into the other. I open the dresser and find some pajamas, I change and toss my dirty clothes into the clothes bin. I lay down in the bed and close my eyes to try to fall asleep.
————————
I wake up in Jayden's bed alone. I sit up and look around, wondering where he went. I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and then I see Jayden, carrying 2 trays of food.
He sees me and smiles, "I thought breakfast in bed sounded good today."
I smile back at him as he hands me a try of food, "thank you."
"You're welcome," he says as he sits on the bed next to me.
As we finish our food he turns to me, "did you want to talk yet? About why you asked if I knew Arcadia and Rose?"
I nod my head, "before Rose met Arcadia, she was in love with a man named Vince. A witch, and he lived here."
"Yes, Beth showed me this place. Whenever a witch has a mission to help Ida or Arcadia, their visions usually send them to Beth. Beth sends the witches to live in safe places, like this."
"Can we go to Beth's house, or can she come here? I'd like to talk to her."
"Yes, I'm sure she would be more than happy to come here. I'll go call her."
He grabs our dishes and heads back downstairs with his phone in his hand. I get up and go to my closet. It's hot out today, so I decide to grab a pair of shorts and a tank top, and I change in my closet.
As soon as I walk out of my closet, Jayden walks back into the bedroom, "Beth will be here soon. Let's go outside to wait?"
He grabs my hand and leads me downstairs and outside, where I sit on the edge of the pond to dip my feet in. Jayden sits next to me holding my hand, as we wait for Beth.
"What do you need to talk to Beth about?" He asks, curiously.
"I just need to talk to her about Vince. I want to know if she knows him and what she knows about him."
"I knew Vince, he was always a very nice young man."
I turn around and Beth is standing behind us smiling, "I will tell you about him."
She takes her shoes off and sits next to me on the edge of the pond.
"I spent a lot of time taking care of the last Rose and Arcadia, they grew up as best friends. As they grew into their late teen and young adult years, Arcadia started to distance off and didn't come around to visit me as much anymore, where Rose grew closer to me and she stayed with me a lot. She practically lived with me. Vince got sent to me through his visions, his destiny was to protect Rose. When he came to me, I sent him to live here, protected from the fallen angels, and close enough to protect Rose.
When he and Rose met, they fell in love. They were like magnets and you couldn't pull them apart. He treated her well and protected her, and he even helped her with her visions and finding out her destiny. When she found out about the bond between her and Arcadia, she was worried. She didn't want to fall in love with him, she loved Vince. While she was sleeping one night, Vince came over to talk. He told me that he knew that her and Arcadia were going to fall in love, he didn't know how but he just knew, and he was worried for her. When the night came for her to see Arcadia, Vince walked her to where they would meet. As soon as Arcadia showed up, Vince knew by the look in her eye, and he left to give them privacy. She kept it a secret from him, trying to fight her feelings for Arcadia. Vince wasn't mad at her for keeping it a secret, he understood why she did, but one night he finally set her free."
"Did she ever see Vince again after that last night?" I ask.
Beth shook her head, "Vince didn't want Rose to think about him anymore, he knew she still loved him, and he was hoping that she would eventually forget about him, so he disappeared."
"But she didn't forget about him?"
"You'll never just forget someone you truly love, the longing and missing starts to fade after a while, but they're always in the back of your mind."
"So why didn't Rose try to find Vince? She was still in love with him. She wanted to be with him, not Arcadia."
"She tried, for a while. Arcadia knew how she felt about Vince, he even gave her distance so she could try to find Vince and be with him. The thing about Vince though, is that if he doesn't want to be found, he won't be."
"But Vince knew how she felt about him, and he was still in love with her too. Why wouldn't he let her find him? It seems unfair."
"I honestly couldn't tell you, but Vince is still alive, I'm sure that he would be willing to meet with you. If you would like, of course."
My eyes got wide, "really? I would love to."
"I can get that set up for you, was there anything else you would like to talk to me about before I go? I'll be back later."
"No, thank you mom." I get up and give her a hug before she leaves.
Jayden stands up behind me and turns to me, "do you want me to be with you when you meet him?"
I shake my head, "no, I think I should do this one on my own."
He nods his head, "what would you like to do to pass the time?"
"I want to fly."
He looks at me wide-eyed, "I don't think that's a good idea Olivia. You shouldn't fly alone, and there's nobody here that can fly. I'm sure Beth will fly with you later."
"Fine," I say, but only because I don't want him to feel guilty if something happened.
"I have an idea," he says, grinning, "I could give you a massage."
"Alright," I say. I start to get butterflies in my stomach.
He leads me inside and tells me to get undressed and lay on the massage table, so I do. I hear him walk away and then he comes back a few minutes later. I wait for a second and then I feel warm oil on my shoulders and upper back.
He starts to massage my shoulders and upper back, before adding more oil and moving down. He eventually finishes the bottom of my back and then I feel the warm oil on my butt and the back of my thighs. He massages my butt, and I let out a few little moans as he teases the insides of my thighs. He moves down to my calves, and then my feet, and then he tells me to flip onto my back, so I do.
He starts kissing down my jawline and then down my throat and chest, until he reaches my breasts. He kisses and licks my nipple, as he plays with the other nipple with his fingers. He then starts trailing his other hand up my thigh and then up my stomach, grazing my sweet spot on the way. I moan in pleasure and he looks satisfied, he kisses my neck one more time and then reaches his hand out to help me up.
"I just wanted to tease you a little bit, but you should get dressed. Beth might be back soon." He says, planting a kiss on my lips.
His touch makes me feel lightheaded, so it takes me a second to catch my breath. I get my clothes back on and glare at him, "why do you have to do this to me?" I groan.
He chuckles, "I mean, I can stop doing it."
I step toward him and kiss his neck, "or you can give me what you know we both want," I whisper in his ear as I stroke him gently over his shorts.
He groans and kisses me, "soon."
