(Landscaping)

Aiden stood on the edge of the ship ramp he could almost reach out and feel the lush green grass on the ground, the feeling of rubbing a clump of dirt and grass in his hands. He couldn't contain his excitement of being on solid ground, but he had important work that needed to begin.

"Here goes" He whispers

He raises up one leg and wobble a bit and softly planted his feet on the dirt, he took the moment to feel the dirt ground under his shoe.

"That's... I almost forgot what solid ground felt like." He lifts up the other leg and had both of his feet on the dirt.

"You look like a weird idiot" Laura said through a little multi-tool earpiece.

She was standing behind a window looking down at him since she isn't able to walk around on the outside.

"One, I haven't been on a planet surface for a few years" He raised one finger at Laura.

"Two, No one else is around here other than you, So I can act however I want" He puts up a second.

"And Three, I'm not an idiot." He turns back to look up at her.

"Say that When the recorded video of you acting like a fool is erase from the database" Laura smirks at him

"You recorded me?"

"Why not? You just took your first step onto a planet in a different reality."

"It's a good memory to keep, besides the weird face you made"

Aiden shook his head out of pure annoyance at the tease Laura did to him.

"Always helping me, And always being annoying at the same time" He said

"We have known each other for a while Aiden."

"Yes... Yes we do"

Aiden started to hear mechanical thumping and engine noises through the ship gate, Construction drones were turn on by Laura and was ordered to head outside from storage.

"I hope you don't mind but I took care of activating the construction drones, while you were staring at grass" She says

The group of robotic drones lined themselves up, they are capable of multiple things, from cutting trees down, hauling supplies, Digging up the dirt, and building construction.

"Thank you, Laura"

He presses against the earpiece and a holographic screen appears in his face. Then he organized the robotic drones into a set group.

"Begin landscaping" He issues a command to cut the surrounding forest down, and dig up the uneven ground to lay out a stable foundation of a base.

The robotic drones sounded off with a deep industrial beep, and venture forth to begin working on the land.

"Now the 1-month timer begins" He says as he watches one of the drones got to the closet tree, And an arm comes out with a saw blade cutting the tree down.

(" Timber! ") He said as the tree fell onto the ground

Other construction drones began doing the same thing cutting tree downs and then hauling them over to a designated area to store them. Aiden had no use for wooden materials, but if he could keep the logs the drones cut down to sell them to the natives it maybe proves beneficial later on.

"Speaking of drones" He turns his head to the side and looks up at Laura.

"How are Seeker's current conditions?"

"All seekers drones are reporting operational, Their current battery power gives them half a month"

"Make a command ahead of time, when they each reach about a week left of power, Send them back here" He could another tree fall down and stared at the drone that cut it down.

"I don't want to lose anything that's my"

"You mean, what belongs to the Star federation"

Aiden rolled his eyes "You know what I meant"

"Orders confirm, I'll make sure those scout drones will return safely"

He spun his head back to the construction and the holographic screen floating in the air, He taps a few buttons and checks up on a couple of tabs. The first priority of this build was flattening the ground, to set up power generation. The ship cargo holds contain all the needed supplies for a small array field of solar panels, and Wind turbines, and even a small fusion reactor.

He could solely rely on the ship main fusion core to power the base, and not bother with creating a new energy source, but the problem is that if he ever wants to use the ship again to fly into space, he wouldn't be able to, not to mention it would tax the amount of power he had left.

A secondary source of energy is a must-have for the base to be made. Afterward he needed to set up a better refinery to smelt larger quantities of ore at a higher temperature, an actual hospital for more advanced medical treatments, and a proper factory to assemble more complex building materials, machinery parts, and electronics.

Like a cloak field generator, A base field Generator, And many other important things.

"Hey, Laura?"

"Yes?'

"Do you think any of the natives will find our base of operations before we can finish?"

"That depends if we're able to hide and not draw any attention to this place"

"If things become hostile, then I advise we will have to fight back, potentially even causing a few deaths"

Aiden got silent from the last part she just said, He's no soldier, he's a scientist and he had enough of seeing humans die because of the surge, he won't be the cause of any death.

"Let's hope not" He said

Aiden didn't like the uncertainty of his coming future, but he had no way of predicting it. He let time fly by a bit and started to look around at the sky trying to remember the direction of the nearest human settlement.

"What direction was the nearest human settlement again?" He asks Laura.

Whose eyes flicker and turn on the earpiece compass feature and a marker appears heading to the east.

"Thank you"

He looked to the east and saw the far distant clouds over the horizon and past the mountains.

(" First contact huh? I wonder how will they think of me? I rather not fight but if they force my hand...")

(" I think I'll make just make preparations to head out soon. ")

He walks back up the ramp, and then past the ship gate and enters inside. He let the construction drones do their work, so he start preparing for other things.

The miner drones and what area should the mining operation start, and to see what he could use as a transport vehicle, and what kind of protection was available to him when he decides to head over to the settlement.

He was in the storage bay looking at all the cargo stored inside containers, He walks up to one of them and feels the cold temperatures coming off the metal container.

"Hopefully I'm able to understand the beta particles better in the future, and get even with the surge"

He quietly mutters to himself and slides his hand off the container and started to run a checklist of what items he wanted to take with him during the trip.
