(A/N): Hey guys before I let you read this chapter I just wanted to say something. I was getting some negative reviews and was pondering on if I should continue the novel. Of course the reviews don't really bother me that much but if nobody enjoys the novel, why would I write it in the first place?
I do write this novel to better my English writing skills but there are many other ways to do that and wiriting a fanfic isn't necessarily the best way to do that. So let me guys know what you think, I'm open for all suggestions and criticism. And I also wanted to inform you guys, this is my first fanfic, don't expect perfection. I'm having a lot of trouble to write the MC in a way that's as relatable as possible, which is hard sometimes. I do really take all your comments into account regarding the MC. I'd like to know what you think of the MC so far, I know the first couple of chapters were sloppy, but I believe I've betterd myself, and most importantly, the MC. Tell me what you think about the MC. Thank you for reading and enjoy!

The storm swelled, this was promising to be a tough battle. I mocked up a battle plan with Raiden in my head. The goal was to lure Soren as far from his domain as possible. Raiden told me that spirits are bound to their domain. Especially Advanced spirits, their domain is quite small and if the distance between them and the domain increases then their power weakens in turn.
I dodged a strong torrent of lightning that made my hairs on my skin stand up. He had immense power, even if Soren was just an advanced spirit. It seemed like if he was close to his domain he was able to protect it pretty well.
I jumped from the hill and started running. ''Come back, my previous friend turned coward! We're going to smoke a joint together if you like it or not!'' Those words almost made me turn back but I decided against it and continued running.
I ran to the clearing where I had met Lux and Soren was following closely behind me. I ran towards the water and Raiden and I channeled our magic. My magic pool had grown vastly larger and I was planning to launch a full-on wind attack.
It seemed like lightning wasn't going to really affect a Storm spirit which made sense. But I hoped that my wind could tear him apart. I held my hands opposite to each other and I focussed all my magic into a ball of wind.
Wind from the four corners of the world seemed to be pulled into the ball and the ball between my hands grew larger and larger. My plan was to first pin Soren with a small strike to make him dodge. After that Raiden would cast a lightning bolt right into Soren and stun him.
If we were lucky Soren would still be able to be stunned from lightning, we just had to overload him with enough. It could go either way, we would overload and stun him, or make him more powerful. We were betting all we had on the first situation. It's just that we didn't have much to go on so we had to guess parts of our strategy and improvise.
When Soren got into the clearing I shot my ball of air at him. He dodged it pretty easily, just as we had planned, ''Too slow kid! What do you even use your eyes for, gotta keep up.'' Soren was trying to anger me but I had full control of my emotions. I wasn't going to mess up our plan just because Soren was being a dick.
When Soren dodged Raiden immediately made thunder rain from the heavens. At first sight it didn't seem to work. Soren just looked at us strangely like we were idiots, but after a little while the lightning in Soren's body seemed to connect with the lightning that was coming from the sky.
It would make sense that Soren's body wanted to go back up, it wasn't used to stay down here for prolonged periods of time. Soren was stunned, I went in for the kill. I formed another wind ball, but this time Raiden helped me form it so it was even stronger than before. I threw it at Soren and it hit him right in the chest. He flew backwards, knocking over trees in the process and even destroying some.
Raiden cheered 'Yeah we got that pot-loving son of a bitch!' I nodded, 'Seems like it buddy' But we cheered too soon. Soren stood up slowly, he definitely seemed to be disgruntled and heavily damaged. But he was still kicking, and most of all, he seemed angrier than he was before.
His moustache was emitting small sparks of lightning, the storm in his own body raged even more wildly than before. He looked like an untamed wind, ready to throw people overboard at sea.
I gulped, I could hear Raiden doing the same thing. We knew an Advanced spirit was stronger than a Basic one, but to take two direct hits, that was unexpected. Definitely if we had combined our magic.
Soren spoke, with clear disdain in his voice but also some joy, somehow. ''I haven't had a battle this fun in ages.'' Soren cracked his knuckles, well he tried to at least, there wasn't really a noise when he did it, ''I hope you entertain me for a little while longer, it would be a shame if you died immediately after this hit.''
I gulped even louder, but Soren's immediate change in character wasn't that strange. After all, a cool breeze is nice. But if that breeze becomes a little stronger, it's too cold and uncomfortable.
Soren rushed at me with speed I couldn't even register. I was hit in the gut and flew backwards into the river. Luckily Amalthea seemed to soften the blow and I landed less hard than I would've without her help. My body also seemed lighter in the water.
Even though my body felt stronger in the water, I wanted to get out as soon as I could, staying in water when a lightning spirit was trying to kill me didn't seem like a good idea. I didn't want to die because of electrocution again.
So I jumped out of the water, and when I landed I could immediately feel that I was struggling to breath. It seemed that Soren's punch was laced with magic somehow and broadened the damage so it reached my ribs.
I fell down to my knees and tried to recover some strength and some of my breath. I focussed on the Spirit energy around me and focussing calmed me down. It also numbed the pain a little bit. 'Are you alright b0ss?' Raiden said with a worried tone, I nodded, ''I'll be right as rain Raiden, we just take this guy down first'' I said with a soothing voice.
Raiden was silent for a bit, 'We need a new plan, we can't prolong this fight for any further, we need to finish it as fast as possible' Raiden said with an analyzing tone. That was something I definitely agreed with. I couldn't really last for much longer, my knees were trembling and I felt like I was going to vomit because of that punch in my gut.
'We need to put all our power into one attack, that's the only way we'll win.' Raiden said in my head. He began explaining the plan in my head. But before Raiden could finish I was already under attack.
I dodged the first blow of wind that Soren shot at me but right after I dodged I was grabbed by my neck. ''Playtime is over kid, now let's pull that nasty spirit right out of that rune, shall we?'' Soren said with a menacing tone.
Soren then pulled Raiden right out of the rune. He held Raiden in his hand and was just about to crush it with all his might when suddenly the rune in my neck began to emanate light. The rune became a dark purple and I grabbed Soren's mustache so he couldn't get away, shocking myself in the process.
Raiden turned into dust in Soren's hands and had a shocked expression on his face, haha, shocked. Anyways, Soren had a shocked expression on his face, ''A fake? How?!'' He bellowed in anger.
''Guess you'll never know.'' I told him in a sassy voice. Raiden suddenly popped behind Soren and conjured a slash of wind that cut Soren in two halves, Darth Maul style. Luckily the slash of wind had not that much of an effect on me but it still hit me as well and now I had a wound from the right side of my chest all the way to the left.
When Soren got split into two halves it seemed like Raiden was taking in his strength. Raiden devoured all of Soren's power and now had a human-like figure. Also with some storm clouds but less than Soren, the rest of Soren's magic simply dispersed. Soren was still alive but he was split up. He needed to restart the cycle all over again and start as a Basic spirit again.
I managed to stay conscious but I was leaning on Raiden, apparently touching Raiden didn't seem to shock me in any way. Maybe because he was contracted to me. Lycan didn't seem to bother Lux's overwhelming light as well.
I got back to Lycan and when he saw the state I was in he quickly turned into a bat and flew me inside of the house. Raiden said that he needed some rest and he flew back into the rune in my neck. My rune had expanded on my shoulder, it now also gave off a little light at all times.
Lycan told me that he had become an Advanced spirit now but he still needed to claim his domain, and that we needed to do it quickly before others came to claim it. But first of all, I needed to be treated and needed some rest.
When I heard the word rest my body seemed to follow Lycan's command and I immediately powered down. I couldn't wait to test my powers, but that was for another day. We could probably easily take on those level 1 metal statues now…
