Legilimency

''Now for Legilimency... '' The King spoke, this was the part I was looking forward to. If I could look into someone's mind then the possibilities would be endless. I couldn't wait for my second year at Hogwarts. At that time Quirrelmort will be around and I can watch my favorite channel: Dark Arts TV, with your host: Voldemort.

I would be able to learn a lot from his knowledge of the dark side and try to create my own magic, something that'll be between light and dark, between Life and Death. Wizards in the past were always dedicated to one style, but that's where they go wrong. If you go too much to the dark you'll be corrupted and when you go too much to the light you'll be too soft to act.

But I'll try to change that, I'll be a user of both sides, to use the Dark Arts but not be corrupted by them will be a great feat but I'm sure I could manage, I had to, to become protect my family.

The King continued, ''While using Legilimency you need to focus, and when I say focus, you need to completely dissociate. You need to be completely in tune with the person you're trying to control. Perhaps you've had a similar experience with your eyes already.''

I absorbed his words and did as he said, I wiped my mind and looked at the King, my eyes were piercing into his. The only thing I could hear was my steady breathing. ''Now that you've focussed you need to focus on frequencies, this might be difficult, try to listen to my brain. If that makes sense.'' The King said whilst observing my every move.

I didn't respond to his question, I could barely hear it in fact. I was so focussed that I saw everything moving in slow-motion. I closed my eyes and tried to focus some of my magic into my brain somehow. Maybe that would work.

At first that sounds very dangerous, maybe I could damage my brain. But I was pretty certain that wasn't going to happen. I only poured in a little magic at first and started to pour in more gradually. I could almost hear my own brain waves, it was like a soft humming in the distance.

I decided to focus on my brain's humming and focussed my attention on the King's brain. I could feel myself slowly losing my thought and mending with those from the King's, but just when I thought I was in I could fell that his brain had become aware of my presence and I was shrugged off.

''You're still too loud, you need to handle things with care, if you don't look out you could be taken over by the person you're trying to read. Focus on my thoughts becoming one with yours, you don't want it to be the other way around otherwise your defense will be fragile and I could easily take over.'' The King said with a dismayed look on his face.

I cleared my mind once more and I tried it, I focussed on his thoughts becoming mine and gradually I felt something happen. I was brought into a landscape, much like the one I had done the trials in.

I was trying to walk up a hill but the hill seemed to be endless, it must be one of his defense mechanisms. I had to use my improvisation as the King had told me. Improvisation was key, so I tried my hardest to think of a way of this situation benefitting me.

After a while of thinking I snapped my fingers and the hill became a roller coaster, now I was actually reaching the top. You just have to turn the defense mechanisms into a perspective that is plausible. An endless hill is implausible but a great defense mechanism, but if you change the defense mechanism into something that can be put into reality the situation becomes a lot easier.

When I reached the top I was surrounded by multiple wampus cats, it seemed like I did not have much time to think of something great so I closed my eyes and thought of Lucifer. When I looked up there were little Lucifers everywhere begging for me to be pet.

But the next one already became a lot harder, I was shrouded by fake memories, they were everywhere. I tried to distinguish them from real ones but this whole brain frequency thing was still hard. It seemed like the King was able to resemble his own frequency greatly so the fake frequency appeared a lot like the real one. But when I looked around I could see one I was certain that was real.

It was the dark cloaked figure of my dreams. He had probably seen it whilst it was digging in my brain. I floated to the memory and touched it, all the other memories lit up and shortly after disappeared. I had managed to find the real memory.

But where do I go from here? The landscape changed once more and I was stuck in a universe. The universe was so vast that everywhere I looked there were constellations. I had no idea where to look. After a while of roaming around I gave up.

I tried to retreat but midway I was grabbed, I was taken over whilst I was roaming inside someone else's mind. If I was using Legilimency my brain was easily able to be taken over. I tried to pull myself out of the stranger's grasp but before I knew it I was already connected to someone else.

In front of me was the phoenix for my dream. It's feathers shone brilliantly with vibrant gold and red colors that could be seen everywhere on the bird. I was getting curious now, who was this phoenix and what did it want from me, ''Who are you?'' I inquired, the Phoenix didn't think much of my question at first. I stared at me with it's piercing black obsidian eyes.

''I'm someone that knows you very well. I want to look out for you, but I'm not able to since I'm not nearby, that's why I can only show you this figure.'' The phoenix said. Just like the wampus cat king it didn't open it's jaw when it was speaking. It spoke directly into my mind.

''But who I am to you is not of importance, I must speak to you about the wraith that's located at Hogwarts, you see, the wraith is my doing. Let's just say I was a bit naive during my youth and may or may not have pushed something to kill another being. As you can see, it didn't end well. The creature lost all sanity and now it's a Demon. It's hiding right under my foolish relative's nose…'' The phoenix paused for a second when it suddenly started shrieking.

Out of nowhere a thunderbird showed up next to the phoenix. It felt like my mind was being abused, the amount of magical energy they both emanated might be even stronger than Lux and they were both just casually invading my mind. It was like magic was being forcefully injected into me like some sort of heroin.

The Thunderbird was a very impressive magical bird, it had 3 pairs of wings and can create storms when it flies. It's also very sensitive to danger, the thunderbird has white feathers that shimmer with cloud-like patterns.

It can change colors when it summons storms, its iridescent feathers shifting from various shades of gold to electrifying blue, to grey and silver, to white, and even to deep navy. It was truly a beautiful creature and I was blessed to be seeing it right now.

''Ah so this is the boy, doesn't look like much.'' The thunderbird spoke casually, like it was the most normal thing in the world to just invade anybody's mind. As you can tell I was getting quite pissed by the magical birds suddenly intruding into my mind.

''You know I'm right here and can hear you right.'' I told the thunderbird in an irked voice. The thunderbird responded casually, ''Yeah I know I can see you dumbass.'' The Thunderbird spoke in an odd American accent that became more clearer with the accent.

I didn't know magical birds could speak with an American accent, but to be fair they were probably people in the form of a magical beast. One thing I was still confused about was why they would do that. What's the merit in confusing me?

The thunderbird and phoenix started bickering, ''Why would you call the boy a dumbass, it's a natural reaction to someone being rude right to your face!'' The phoenix said with a glint of annoyance in his dead eyes. The thunderbird rolled his eyes and countered, but I wasn't really feeling this whole debate, so I stopped them. The thunderbird changed colors and a storm formed around him, he became a deep navy and even more magic leaked out of him. The phoenix's fire became even wilder and started to spread, it's almost like his wings became larger.

''What do you guys want and could you guys finish quickly because it feels like my head is going to explode because of the magical interference.'' I told the bickering couple of magical birds whilst massaging my head with my fingers.

The phoenix continued speaking, ''Oh yeah…'' Suddenly they both started shrieking. I really hoped not another one was coming otherwise I might just commit seppuku to just get out of this annoying situation.

But luckily for me another one didn't appear, ''Our time's run out, we'll talk when you get to Hogwarts.'' The phoenix said with some strain in his voice. The thunderbird looked at the Phoenix like he was an idiot. ''And how are you going to get there, you're banned from the European continent you imbecile.'' When the thunderbird said those words they slowly faded from existence.

''Remember! Hogwarts!'' The phoenix said but some words seemed to slip my mind. I couldn't hear him well due to him disappearing. After a while even their shimmers were gone and I was just standing in darkness.

But not long after that I was pulled back to reality. I was laying on the ground and Lucifer was licking my face. Not the ideal way of waking up…
