Jim had a normal life.
He'd always kept himself away from the businesses of the cultivators. The immortal insurance factions.
So why was it that when he was cleaning the top of the glass penthouse.....
4 people suddenly appeared in the room?!
"Make it quick. Or I'll drop your bodies from this skyscraper right now", he heard someone say.
It was Jake!
"I gotta get outta here! He sounds angry...", he thought to himself.
He began to back out but his broom hit the ground.
Something flew past his head. *Chink*.
There was a hole in the wall just inches away from his head.
"What do you think you're doing David?", a sharp voice said.
It was Jake. He grabbed someone's hand and seemed to had stopped the blast from hitting Zane's face.
"Apologies. I didn't think he was yours", he smiled nonchalantly.
"Out Cashman. Now", Jake told him without giving a look.
Cashman was Jim's last name. And Jake only called people by their last names when he wasn't asking. Jim bolted out of the door.
"That's unlike you.... ", Flo said as she walked around the penthouse, "you don't usually care about your employees. Actually...", she stopped in front of him, "You dont care about people in general".
Jake shifted his eyes menacingly and rolled them.
This action seemed to get Flo very upset.
Before something could happen, Dennis interjected.
"So about the Omega shift...", all of Jake's attention was placed on Dennis's every word.
"I'm listening", he said.
Something in Jake's eyes changed. There was a sort of hunger in them. Something that rarely happened.
"A few weeks ago, one of my Liners detected an anomaly in the Insurance bridge. As you all know, the bridge serves to make sure that the insurance in the world is kept in good hands through the gate keepers. We insurance factions are here to make sure that insurance is renewable and therefore not allowing the corrupted insurance to throw the world into chaos."
"I know how Insurance works thanks", Jake snapped.
"Get on with it".
"As I was saying, there was an anomaly. The gate keepers haven't responded in 2 weeks. They have a mandatory check in every 2 days. The only reason that could happen would be that-"
"-the Omega shift is beginning!", Jake realized happily.
"Hahaha. This is comedy gold haha. Not only have the gates opened in less than 8 years, I now have a chance to become even more powerful....", Jake laughed to them.
"Pfft!", Dennis and Flo both laughed together.
"Something funny?", Jake asked them.
"Yes, quite literally you", Flo said to him.
"Do you really think we'd tell you any of this without, and pardon me for the pun, *insurance* that you'd take everything for yourself?".
"Oh? And what do you propose?", Jake rolled his eyes again.
Once again Flo became angry at the action.
"We want 60% of the earnings", David cut in.
"Ha! Now thats a joke if i ever heard one. 40", Jake shut him down.
"50", Dennis chimed in.
"45, Take it or leave it", Jake told them.
"Looks like we have a deal gentlemen", Flo said happily.
"Ah. They planned for 45%. It doesn't matter, they wont be getting anything from there. Its the perfect opportunity to get rid of these rats", Jake thought to himself.
Little did Jake know, this was the exact plan these 3 had in store for him.
