I stuff my face with (f/f) while I rest my face in my palm. Asahi and Tsurara sit across from me while he tells us all about some rumor he heard. A few students picked a fight and turned into their monster forms. These stories were oddly common, though I hadn't been in many such fights. Mostly freshman, they just weren't used to having to keep their human forms together around others of our kind.
A familiar blunette appears, tossing her ponytail over her shoulder as she slumps down onto the table. She lets a long sigh, her complexion begging one of us to ask what the matter was. Of course she would only say it didn't matter before she went into a rant about some guy. Fluttering those long, dark lashes she used her magic to get Asahi to ask and on she went. The story was the same, nearly identical to ones I'd heard from her countless times.
"Who's Kenji?" I ask, trying to break her rant off into something more interesting.
Asahi was the one who answered though, "Kurono. He's one of my seniors in the photography club. If I see him I'll introduce you."
I let out a knowing ah, as if I actually knew who that was. Truth be told I hadn't been listening to half their conversations. "I think I'll pass you up on that." Truth be told, it'd be a week before she found someone else. I could assume she knew half the boys in our school personally.
"Well at least now she's spending some time with us," Asahi notes. True, I thought. We were her backup when she had boy problems. But Tsurara was looking really tense. When they worked together they made a great team, but in the rest of life they were really opposed to another. Tsurara was never more outspoken around anyone though.
"You wanna talk to me about ditching out on you? (y/n)'s just as busy. Speaking of which, how are things with Issa?" She eyes me suggestively.
"Just great," I reply, trying to avoid her usual nosiness. Though I knew the moment she said my name that she wasn't going to let me go so easily.
"It better be. Do you know how many b*tches I've had to threaten to keep away from you two?" There's a long pause. "Well, where's my thank you? Aren't I the best friend?" And here she goes again.
"Thank you," I reply, feeling the tension in my facial muscles.
"Maybe I should have let them be. Then you'd have plenty more problems to worry about then Luke." She lets out a chuckle, but I'd stopped eating. "Maybe if he sees you with Issa he'll get jelly~ I'd just love a little cat fight between them, wouldn't you?"
I slam my fists on the table, starting to get up. "You'll have to excuse me."
"Sorry, touchy topic," she chuckles. Man, I loved Ageha, but she could be such a b*tch sometimes. "I was only kidding."
"You going somewhere?" Issa asks, standing awkwardly at our table. How long had he been standing there? And more importantly, how much of our conversation had he overheard?
"Speak of the devil, I'm Ageha. (y/n)'s favorite hoe." She greets him with a smile as he sits next to me. I slump back down into my seat, trying to shake off the situation from before. Ageha was busy filling him in on her whole backstory and the latest gossip. I was just relieved she was no longer pushing my buttons.
The others hadn't really met him yet, but they hit it off easily. "Who's this?" Issa asks, turning to Tsurara: the only one of us he hadn't talked to yet. Asahi sends him a glare, snarling at the boy. "Listen, I know you don't like me, but I promise I'm no harm."
Ageha coughs a sexual comment in her fist, but doesn't repeat herself. Whatever it was though, it didn't improve Asahi's mood. None of my friends ever acted like this with Luke, they thought he was great. But finally I'd managed to move on with someone who was better than I could ask for and they're all a bunch of mmpf! Gosh this was so frustrating.
Issa doesn't seem to care or even notice. I feel his hand brush against mine as he clings onto it beneath the table. Those warm red orbs meet my (e/c) ones as he winks at me. I was able to relax a bit and felt his warm breath tickle my ear as he starts to say something, but then he stops.
Suddenly a hand found itself on my shoulder and I notice a matching one already resting on Issa's shoulder. "Excuse me," Asahi sends us a forced, closed-eyed smile, "Could I fit a textbook between you two?"
"Don't mind him, Issa," Ageha retorts taking a sip of her drink. "Asahi just wants someone to call him 'Daddy'."
Anyone can see the irritation in the blonde boy's face as he shouts, "No!" He did tend to be that overprotective dad friend though.
"Oh, I see," the vampire chuckles. He smiles back at my friend as he peers at the male from over his shoulder. "Daddy~"
I facepalm, "Not you too, Issa!"
