Stir the pot

Laila was still playing the role of an upset wife as she said, "When I said those words I thought he was going out of his way to take care of me. So, he deserved to be complimented. But now I am beginning to think he just came home to put on the act of a good husband. He gave me a show for the brownie points and then slacked off the moment I am no longer in sight. So, I think he and I need to have a chat about what it means to be married to a woman like me. As I am not one to take matters like this lightly!"

Olivia saw, what she thought was an opportunity to stir the pot. So, in an attempt to fuel the flames that she thought were residing in Laila's heart, she said, "You are right dear. I was only thinking Noah being a great guy but that judgement is based on what you told me of him. So, if you are questioning that fact at the moment, I am certain you have good reason to do so and I should readjust how I view him. Let's not allow him to forget that you are a beautiful woman and desirable woman. He should know that there are plenty of men that want you and who will take care of you the way you deserve. So, if he doesn't know how to treasure my friend, he should be made aware that there are men out there who will."

Hoping to cause the maximum amount of damage with a single misunderstanding, she tried to ensure that it would remain a misunderstanding for as long as possible. So, Olivia added, "In fact, I think you shouldn't even tell him what you are mad about. Just ignore him for a few days. Go visit your parents. That should send him the message loud and clear. He doesn't deserve you spelling it out for him. How will he ever learn otherwise, if you keep giving him the easy way out?"

Laila laughed internally at Olivia's petty scheme but on the outside she agreed with her as she tried to get her out of the house. "When you are right, you are right. I will try the silent treatment for today and if he doesn't realize his mistake by tomorrow I will leave the house. I haven't seen my parents in too long. I should go visit them for a couple of days. Be it with him or without him."

Thinking that she had been successful in her plot, Olivia was happy to leave. She said her goodbye to Laila and then she grabbed her purse as she got ready to head back after another day of scheming. Laila walked with her to the door and with a smile on her face waved Olivia goodbye before closing the large, beautifully detailed door behind Olivia's perfectly constructed butt. Once the door was closed, Laila let out a breath of relief as she leaned against the door.

After closing her eyes for a second to regain her composure after everything that had happened, she planned on heading to the kitchen to see Giselle and talk to her what had happened with Olivia. Plus, if there was anything she had learned in her previous life, it is that the help always knows what is going on. They all know each other and talk amongst each other about what is going on in the houses that they work for. So, if anyone would know who Olivia is and what she is scheming, it would be them. ...Or .... of course her dear friend Maria...

As Laila was suddenly reminded of her close and true friend from her previous life, her eyes shot back open. While continuing to lean against the door, she got deep in thought about the people that used to be in her life. Of some people in her previous life she knew that they would still be in her current life if they were alive. Olivia had already let her know that her parents for example were alive and in her life. But when it came to friends she had in the previous timeline, she wasn't so sure. She didn't know where Maria was in this life or if they were even friends. Heck, she didn't even know where she herself was at the moment. Aside from the house and the backyard, she hadn't seen anything of the area she was currently living in. She wasn't even sure if they were living in the same country as where she had lived during her previous life. So, much has changed in this life and right now she didn't know just how much and how drastically.

Laila let out another deep sigh before pushing herself off the door and walking to the kitchen to do what she planned to do, while putting the thoughts about Maria to the side for the moment. She told herself that after she had spoken to Giselle and Gretchen, she would use social media to look up her friend and see who she was in this life and if they were still friends or not. Because she could certainly use a friend that she could trust right now. Someone who could help her make sense of all of this and Maria was the one person she could count on to believe all this madness. Because despite being a realist, Maria had always been one with wild theories of alternate universes and timelines. Plus, she was a very spiritual person. So, anyone could believe what had happened to her, it would be Maria.

As Laila walked down the large halls of her new mansion home, heading straight for the staff kitchen, a thought suddenly came to her, "Wait a second. Olivia Smith.... Could it be that Olivia Smith?!"
