Get up! Get up! Get up!

The remaining days of the girl's week went by peacefully. Maria had her net cast for any info on Olivia's backer and any info on Jake's next outing with the mistress, so until then they could simply have fun like you are supposed to on a girl's week. They went to dinners, had a high-tea, went to nostalgic places for the two of them and just chatted away. They were simply having a blast and it was just like they had never spent a day apart.

Every evening Laila would call with Noah and tell him all about her day, while he did the same. He told her about the deal he was working on and how things were coming to a close. He expected to be crossing the t's and dotting the i's in the next few days and would be ready to welcome her back with a few days of no work and all fun. Claiming that he had planned that after a week of her already having nothing but fun because he wanted to remind her of what she had at home and wouldn't get any 'crazy' thoughts like wanting to move back.

Though Laila accepted his sweet surprise with a chuckle, she was happy to see that his hard work was paying off and things were on schedule for him. Especially if that meant that when she came back, she would have him all to herself again. This became something she very much looked forward to as her girl's week was nearing its end. Especially after being away from him for a full week. Though she was certainly enjoying her time with Maria, for her she was still in her honeymoon phase as she had only experienced married life with Noah for a few days before having to leave him to visit her friend. The days she had spent with him, were mostly lived in fear of him discovering she wasn't the Laila he had married or at least not the one that had the memories of their lives together.

Now she was in a more comfortable place and Maria had filled her in on anything she knew about their relationship. Plus, with them having finally discovered Olivia's plan and her getting closer to getting an opportunity to get back at Jake for what he had done in her previous timeline and this one, things were looking pretty great. She certainly had nothing to complain about and she was sure that it was only a matter of time before they would find out the identity of Olivia's backer. This moment would only come closer once she would return home and could fill Noah in on what they had discovered.

Laila was lost in her thoughts, thinking about exactly this, when Maria rushed in all excited. "Get up! Get up! Get up! We need to get going. NOW!" Laila was clearly confused but could see by Maria's words and actions that it was important. So, she got herself off the couch as she tried to calm Maria down long enough for her to tell her what was going on. As she put on her shoes, Maria finally told her the cause of her excitement and rushing. "I just heard that Jake is meeting his mistress in fifteen minutes at the Seaside hotel in town. The girl had apparently told her friend about meeting her lover there at five to have dinner at their restaurant and spend the night to celebrate her birthday. She is on her way right now!" Maria couldn't help but make a gagging sound at the word 'lover' as she really disliked that word and now more than ever as it pertained her dearest friend.

Hearing these words, the excitement immediately passed onto Laila as well and she quickly grabbed her purse as she now became the one to rush them. "Why didn't you say so then!? Well, what are you waiting for. Hurry up!" Just like that they sped out the door, ready to catch Jake in the act with just two more days of their girl's week remaining.

Laila and Maria got to the Seaside hotel in just eight minutes, which was something close to a miracle. They started out by running down the hill as fast as they could when they came across a taxi that had just dropped someone off on Maria's street. Immediately they jumped in the empty taxi and asked it to head to the Seaside hotel as fast as it could.

Laila sweetened the deal by telling the man that they would pay a hundred bucks if he could get them there in less than ten minutes. An amount like that wouldn't hurt her financial situation in the least, making it but a drop from the ocean, but she figured that it would be quite a big amount for someone getting paid by the minute. Seeing as the ride they needed to take would normally be about ten bucks, her tenfolding the amount should be enough of an incentive to get the man to at least do his best.

And indeed, the man behind the wheel didn't need to hear that twice and got over his surprise of two sudden new customers really fast after Laila had offered him that substantial payment. He stepped on the gas and managed to get them there in seven minutes, with their run down the street accounting for the added minute in their total time to get there.
