Shots fired!

Hearing her friend say these words as if she had prepared for this confrontation for years gave Maria a great sense of satisfaction and pride. With gaped mouth and eyes wide and sparkling from excitement, she yelled out, "Damn girl, shots fired!" Suzy felt humiliated as she tried to find the words for her comeback, while getting no support from Jake. He was too busy trying to deescalate the situation to defend his girlfriend, since he got a feeling that Laila's words held a hidden meaning and he didn't feel like finding out what that was. But while Jake was trying to prevent any more damage, Suzy wasn't ready to give up the fight just yet.

"Well if I was his second choice, why did he cheat on you with me? You are just bitter that you couldn't keep a man by your side, while I have managed to have him all to myself for many years. And don't get cocky thinking I still see you as my competition. I just know what a catch my man is and I can't have people like you getting any ideas about him. Especially those who know what they are missing out on and have nothing more than some broke, ugly guy that they have to return to because of some drunken mistake that they can no longer undo."

Where Laila was just giving a bit of tit for tat before, having a bit of fun of trying to beat Suzy at her own game, hearing her insult her husband and call her baby a 'mistake' had crossed the line for her. This was the trigger that pushed her from kind and forgiving to someone who was determined to make Suzy regret ever saying those words. Both Maria and Jake had realized that Laila was now truly mad, as a frown had appeared on her face and any trace of a smile disappeared. While both of them anxiously waited to see what Laila would do, Suzy kept running her mouth. Fearing that she was digging both her own grave as well as his, Jake again stepped in, in hopes of being able to silence Suzy before it was too late. However, that line had been long crossed and that point had since long passed.

The moment Suzy stopped talking, Laila readied herself as she folded her arms and let out a 'chè' before saying, "Are you done?" But before Suzy was able to respond to that question, Laila initiated her counterattack. "First of all, let me ask you, if you were indeed the better choice and have been with him for many years, how come I still see no ring around your finger? Jake had promised me that he would marry me once we graduated high school. Lucky for me, I came to my senses before that but that doesn't explain why you two still haven't." This is when Laila briefly shifted towards Jake, who had wisely kept his mouth shut to Laila but would not be escaping shots fired.

She asked him, "How long have you two been together? Still not sure enough if you want to lock that one down hmm? I get it, she has proven that she will give it away for free, regardless of whether you are available, willing to commit or value her existence. So, why bother making that kind of investment into someone like that, when you can keep her by your side while looking for the person who is worth it."

Then she turned back towards Suzy and said, "Second of all, I would use those words 'all to myself' very lightly if I were you. Because just a few days ago he tried to hit on me and tried to get me on a date with him. So, know that you would never be able to call yourself his girlfriend if I didn't decide to leave him, and I could take him away from you even now, if I wanted. He is only keeping you to warm his bed, he will never marry you. I know this for a fact, not only for how he was with me but also because of what he did with another woman just yesterday." Laila was fully heated and was not holding back at all, silencing even Maria into a full state of shock as she watched Laila blow Suzy verbally to pieces. Having blurted out this much already, Laila was about to drop her final bomb. The one that would end this battle and leaving Suzy with no way of getting back.

Laila let out a sigh and closed her eyes for a moment out of frustration before she said, "You know, I didn't want to use this information but you have proven to me that you have not improved at all since high school. In fact, you have become even worse. So, let me tell you that I have him cheating on you on tape and I can show you what it is 'I am missing out on' any time you want. So, I would sing a different tune if I were you as your prince charming is nothing more than a cheat. And for your information, my husband is the most wonderful man you could ever hope to meet and this child in my womb has more goodness in his little pinkie than you will ever possess."
