To err is human, ...

As Laila wondered how much longer she would have to listen to Olivia talking nonsense, they were interrupted by someone being at the door. As Laila was glad to be saved by the bell, Olivia was on high alert like a guard dog hearing noise by the door. With Noah's earlier message, the chance of it being him was almost a hundred percent, which caused Olivia to rush to the door to stop Jefferson from doing that what she wished to do. She yelled out, "Wait, wait! I will open the door myself". To which Jefferson replied by saying, "As you wish", with another slight bow before walking away.

Though Laila by now knew how deep her obsession with Noah ran, she still had not quite expected this reaction from someone like Olivia. She always made it very clear that she felt that she was too good to frankly do anything but receive, so for her to go out of her way to stop Jefferson from doing his job. Especially with her watching. That was one thing Laila never thought she would get to witness. For no one would she bother to even lift a finger but when it came to Noah, she even wanted to be the one to open the door and welcome him in. A strange woman in a strange world but Laila wasn't complaining as for her this reaction from her was a very welcome one.

Laila let out a sigh of relief before signalling Steve, who was waiting for her sign. She quickly placed the small stick on microphone underneath the small table between the two sofa's before she straightened herself and smiled at Olivia and Noah entering the room. She greeted Noah like it was any other day but kept in mind where she was and he seemed to do the same in caring the slightest bit that he was not at his own home without anyone watching them.

Laila started by saying, "Hello dear, how was work? Did you have a good day?" Noah walked to Laila and placed a kiss on her cheek instead of her lips, since he tried to behave like he would behave if he was visiting someone else. Though in many ways he didn't care who saw them, he knew Laila did and he had grown accustomed to be a bit more reserved in his affections when they were outside of the house. In a loving voice he answered her question and asked about her day in response.

Olivia being forced to be a silent witness to this, seemed to be rubbing her in all the wrong ways. Despite Laila and Noah's consideration for the proper time and place for them to show their affection to one another, even their modest actions seemed to have caused a certain fire to appear in Olivia's eyes. A fire that was of course filled with both anger and jealousy. In a snappy voice she said, "Well there is plenty of time for you to do that at home. No need to be all over each other when you are visiting someone else. Unbelievable. To think I could be ignored and treated as invisible in my own home. I didn't think you were that rude of a friend."

Noah and Laila exchanged glances to check with the other if they knew what had triggered that response but considering today's goal, they both decided to let it go and take the road of least resistance. "Sorry, you made me feel so welcome that his felt like home. Today he is here as your guest, not my husband. So, I'll leave you to it."

Noah also made up an apology and tried to pacify Olivia a bit. "Yes. Laila is right. Today I came here for you today. I hope you won't be angry with me too much. After all, you were supposed to teach me how to cook today and we can't ruin such a wonderful thing over some error in judgement. I know you are a kinder person than that."

Since Olivia couldn't have Noah thinking badly of her in any way AND he had just praised her, she had no choice but to give in. She first turned her face away, lifting her rhinoplasted nose up in the air as she crossed her arms and pretended to still be upset with the both of them. Then she peeked through one eye in Noah's direction before saying, "Well, you are right in saying that I am a kind person. Because any other person would not be able to forgive such an act." Then she turned around and stared directly in Noah's eyes. Ignoring even Laila's existence as she said, "But I am one who knows that we are all but human and humans are flawed, they make mistakes. So, I shall overlook this little 'error in judgement' because as someone great once said, 'To err is human, to forgive divine' and I want you to see that I am nothing less than that. Divine."
