Infinity Enterprises

After Noah reluctantly agreed to having a body guard, with the condition that this person had to be invisible to him for the majority of the time, they began to discuss who to send to retrieve the recordings from the restaurant. They needed someone that exuded an air of authority and would not easily back down in case they were being difficult. "I want to send Anthony but I think Rebecca is a very good candidate as well. She is a bit new to the company but she is showing great potential. I want to repay her hard work from these past months by giving her a bit of a bigger task. Something with some responsibility. So, she can get some more experience on the more difficult jobs."

Noah nodded. He knew who Steve was talking about. She was truly a diamond in the rough. She was someone with a bit of a difficult past. Being put out into the streets by her own family at a young age. Having to take care of both herself and her younger brother. Working and going to college but being forced to drop out. To top it all off, because of her shitty parents, she had a hole that needed to be filled and someone took advantage of that vulnerability of hers. One abusive relationship later and losing the roof over her head for a second time at an age of just twenty-two, she signed herself up for their hackathon.

Using the skills she had learned over the years, just dabbling on the internet and teaching herself the necessary software and programming knowledge, she came in second. But because of her age, and the fact that she managed to get through just a few seconds later than the number one, she stood out as this was a very high level competition. This feat caused Steve to go and talk to her.

After he found out that her skill had been self-taught, he became even more impressed than he already was. He could see the potential she had and could only imagine what she could accomplish with some proper training and guidance. So, he went and discussed her case with Noah, who wanted to meet her for himself. He invited her over to the sky-box, from where he and Steve had been watching the competition, and he talked to the nervous young Rebecca. That is when he discovered her background story. But where Rebecca thought that her story would cause her to be disqualified from a company such as Infinity Enterprises, it made her shine even brighter in Noah and Steve's eyes. By now it was almost 2 years ago but they could both remember the day they met Rebecca like it was yesterday.

After Rebecca had finished telling them her story, Noah asked, "Where do you live now? Does your brother still stay with you?" Rebecca nodded, "We go from homeless shelter to homeless shelter. Sometimes I manage to earn enough so we can sleep at a motel for a night and take a warm shower. But it is difficult to get hired when you have no education or experience." Noah nodded and said, "I see. Well I want to change that for you. If you are interested, I would like to offer you a position at I.E.. It will be an entry level position but you can work your way up."

Rebecca's eyes grew wide. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. That such a great thing could be happening to her. "A-Are you serious..?" Noah just looked at her with a straight expression said, "I am always serious when it comes to business. I recognize potential when I see it and I see it in you. But it is up to you whether you want to do something with that potential." Meanwhile Steve was sitting on the armrest of the sofa that Noah was sitting on. Looking at Rebecca with a big grin and whispering, "Take it."

Rebecca still couldn't believe it. This was more than a dream come true. She came here thinking that if she won the competition, she could plead her case to become part of the team at I.E. but to have lost and get a job offered in person by the owners, that was beyond her wildest imagination. She balled her hands into fists to stop them from shaking before she tried to say in the firmest tone she could muster, with her eyes on the verge of crying, "If you are indeed serious, then I will happily accept. It would be my honour to work at I.E.. I would even accept a job as a cleaning lady or unpaid intern. I am a hardworking person. All I wanted was a chance. Even if it is an entry position job. I am confident I can show you my skill in time and grow. I'll do whatever I can to make sure you won't regret giving me this opportunity."

Noah nodded approvingly and said, "Good. I am confident you can make it as well. So, don't let me down. Come by the office tomorrow to sign your contract. I'll have Max prepare it for you today. You can start working on Monday. Will that be a problem?" Rebecca shook her head. So, Noah continued, "Good. You will be expected at the office at 9 AM. If there are still things you need to take care, you can discuss it with Max and he'll see what he can do to help you out."
