Back at Infinity Enterprises there was total panic and chaos. Just moments before, the secret service agent that had been tasked with the job of protecting Noah and Steve during the week against the dangers posed by the threat that was Harold Richardson, had ushered the two of them towards Steve's car. He had assessed that Noah's car was too dangerous for the time being since he had not had enough opportunity to examine the car to make sure nothing had been done to it. So, thinking that Noah was the main person that Harold was after and was blaming for the situation he was currently in, he deemed Steve's car as the safer option between the two.
But just moments before they reached the car, the agent received a message through their special communication system. The message was short but got across a vital piece of information. "The friend is a target as well. Explosives are involved". Hearing that Noah wasn't the only target and hearing his partner mention explosives, the agent tried to stop Steve but by then it was already too late. He heard the click and he heard beeping. With only a few short seconds before there would be an explosion, he knew that they wouldn't be able to get away scot free. The car had been unlocked and apparently that had been the trigger for the bomb. The agent tried to warn the both of them, told them to step away from the car but they could only get so far before they heard a loud explosion as Steve's car was blown to pieces and they were thrown to the floor.
They had all lost consciousness, including the agent. Though he was quickly regaining his consciousness as he was waking up to a loud, high-pitched ringing in his ears. Opening and closing his eyes to get rid of the blur he was seeing. As he was trying to get up and assess the situation, a group of screaming people were coming to the parking garage. They had been alarmed by the sound of the explosion and they rushed over to help. Two people went about extinguishing the sea of flames that surrounded the remnants of Steve's car, while the others tended to the three wounded men.
As someone came to see if he was okay, the agent looked over to the two people he had been tasked to protect. This is when he saw that although Noah seemed to have some surface level wounds, Steve was faring much worse. Though the agent had been able to throw himself in front of Noah, protecting him from the worst of the blow, Steve wasn't as lucky... He had been too close to the car. His hand was already on the handle when the beeping began and he couldn't get away far enough to avoid being flung forward by the force of the explosion against another car parked at the parking lot. All the agent could see was a lot of blood surrounding his body and he tried to get himself to stand up to walk over and check on him despite the words of the concerned people around him telling him to not move around as help was on the way.
With a bit of a limp the agent walked to where Steve's body was lying and pushed the people surrounding him aside to get a closer look at his state. At this point Noah's phone started ringing and the sound of his ringtone made him slowly regain his consciousness. Slowly he was becoming aware of all the commotion and the memories of what had happened started flooding in. The sound of his ringtone came and died back down without him being able to answer. Half because he wasn't able to take what was going on all in and half because he hadn't regained enough of his consciousness to act on what he was hearing. By the time it started ringing and vibrating a second time, he reached in his pocket while groaning from the pain he was feeling all over.
After pulling out his phone he picked up and brought the device to his ear as he weakly answered, "Hello.." Laila's panicked voice immediately called out to him. "Noah! Noah, is that you!? Are you okay?? How is Steve? Are you two okay??"
Noah could hear the worry in her voice and could hear that she was crying. Hearing this sobered him up and he shook his head a bit as he too squeezed his eyes before opening them up again to be able to fully process what was going on. Only now did he realize the members of his team surrounding him and asking him if he is okay and telling him to lay down and not get up. But he couldn't just keep lying down if he didn't know how Steve was doing. So, he began searching for him. Turning his body around and finally seeing just how bad the situation was.
