Screeching tires

As Noah had turned around to take in the situation, he was met by chaos in every direction. The damage he saw was horrible. He could see the smoke that was coming from the unrecognizable remains of Steve's car, whose flames had been mostly extinguished. He saw parts of the car had been scattered everywhere and finally he saw Steve. His friend was lying in a pool of his own blood and he was being tended to by a dozen people, among which a man that appeared to be in pretty bad shape himself. Noah could only assume that it was the man who had been trying to protect his identity only to be seen by the entire staff of Infinity Enterprises. But at least he had managed to care more about Steve's wellbeing than maintaining his secret nature, which Noah deemed commendable.

Only after seeing all of this and realizing the severity of the situation he was in and how bad things could have gone, if they hadn't gone that badly already as Steve's condition was looking pretty bad, did Noah snap back. Only then did Laila's voice come through again. By now Laila's level of worry had doubled. She too had heard all the panic of the people that had come rushing over to help over the phone. Combining it with Noah's silence, she felt as if her world had come crashing down.

Though she didn't know how bad the actual situation was, she had a bad feeling and her imagination was creating the worst possible scenario in her mind. She was seeing images of losing Noah before her very eyes, like she had lost her baby in her previous life. In a desperate attempt to ease her mind even the slightest bit, she kept repeating her questions over and over in hopes of getting an answer. Each time sounding more and more desperate to hear Noah's voice. But Noah was in no state to answer. All he could muster up was saying, "I'm sorry. I'm going to have to call you back."

The reason he could not get into answering Laila's many questions was because Noah's mind was filled with how Steve was doing. Despite the condition he was in, he too tried to crawl up and drag his aching body to where his friend was lying. Steve had taken the full force of the blow and as it looked, he had landed as badly as one could. When he reached his body, he dropped down next to him and with shaking hands he gently touched his friend's unconscious body. Showing just how much he really cared about him.

He had just reached Steve's side, when the bodyguard told him, "Don't touch him too much. You don't know how severe the damage is and where it is. He took a hard blow and he might have a lot of internal bleeding, a damaged spine, a concussion or all of the above. It best for us to wait till the medics arrive and let them handle this with the care it requires. The sirens are nearby, so it shouldn't be long until he gets the proper care he needs."

He had just finished his words, when the ambulance came into the parking garage with screaming sirens. They rushed over and stopped with screeching tires in front of the place where Steve was lying. The EMT's jumped out of the car. One came out of the front seat, while the other threw the back of the ambulance open and jumped out from there. They rushed over to Steve and checked his vital signs before he was given a neck brace and gently placed on a stretcher and carried into the back of the ambulance.

As they were doing this, they were stating things like, "Blood pressure is low." "There appears to be internal bleeding." "He needs to be brought to the hospital immediately." "Pupils are still responsive." Hearing all these words, seeing how pale Steve was and hearing the words of the bodyguard repeated in his mind along with what Harold had said, Noah was being overcome with anger.

His face turned into the most menacing glare one had ever seen as he stood helpless on the side as Steve was being carried into the ambulance. But his anger wasn't directed at the bodyguard or even the current situation. No, it was directed at the person who had caused this. The person who was responsible for the state Steve was in, and he was determined to not let this matter rest. He would make sure that Harold would face the consequences of what he had done. He had been holding back until now, as he only wanted Harold to no longer pose a threat for him. But now he would go for a full on attack and neutralize Harold at his core.

Where he had initially planned on just damaging his reputation, he would now show Harold his hacking skills and use the bridge his team had built to completely destroy his company. Not only that, he planned on fully emptying his funds and exposing all there was to expose. Crippling him not only financially but also mentally. Making him lose any way up or out. He had been worried about his nephew facing a bit of jailtime? Ché. His nephews charges are nothing compared to what Harold himself would be facing after he was done with him. In Noah's eyes, Harold should start worrying if he would ever be able to see the outside world again after he was done with him.
