Untouchable

"I am. I am speaking the truth. I swear. I don't know what you have heard but I would never actually hurt you. I planned on drugging you if I couldn't get you to come to me willingly. But that isn't because I want to hurt you. It is because I love you so much and I believe that you should be with me. I mean, look at me. I am smart, I am beautiful and I am willing to treat you like the great man that you are. I am not afraid to admit that. Although hearing that first part out loud like this, it doesn't sound too great. But I swear I meant no harm and if I knew that Harold was after more than just a part of your business, then I wouldn't have partnered up with him either. He was just a means to an end but apparently, so was I to him."

Olivia was looking pretty dejected at this point and had turned into herself a bit. But although it all sounded crazy, from beginning to end, Noah nodded and surprisingly enough he actually believed Olivia's story. Though she was crazy in many ways herself, she was deeply in love with Noah and actually did care about him in her own twisted, possessive and obsessive way. So, she would never actually try to kill him. Hurt his business and break his spirit maybe. But even that would be to make him dependent on her.

After a brief moment of silence, Olivia picked her story back up. "As for the part about Harold, he called me shortly before everything went down. He told me that he was on his way and I was still trying to get him to tell me what he was planning to do. Apparently he still wasn't sure if he could trust me to not doing anything to stop his plans. So, he refused to give me any real information, no matter how many times I asked him. All he did was say something cryptic about him going after your blood since you had gone after his. I was confused at this point since I did not know what he was talking about. So, he finally explained to me about how his nephew had gotten arrested and was currently in jail because of you. He also told me about all the trouble you had caused him with his work and how angry he was with you. He was screaming and shouting. I had never seen him that way. He hung up in the middle of our conversation after telling me that he was on his way to my house to pick up the key and the information on our safe house."

Since her story matched with the story that the shadow had overheard from Harold's conversation with Jake, she too began to believe Olivia's version of events. So, she having heard all of this as well, began to ask a question of her own. "Alright. So, now Harold is on his way to your house and he is reliant on you for his escape. Why didn't you stop him or make you tell the truth?"

Olivia rolled her eyes and let out a frustrated laugh. "Are you kidding me? Have you seen the size of that man? Do you have any idea what type of man he is? As if there was a way for me to actually stop him from leaving." The shadow looked over at Noah, who nodded to confirm that this was true and that Olivia didn't stand much of a case. With Harold's dirty laundry having already been aired all over the country, there wasn't much that Olivia had to leverage with either. Making her the weaker party in a fight like that in more ways than one.

After that they both returned their attention to Olivia who continued to say, "I did however, try to make him tell me the truth. When he came here, I told him that I wouldn't give him the key or tell him the location of the house, if he didn't tell me what he was planning to do to Noah. But sadly that didn't go over too well. He is an intimidating man and one who knows a lot of things about me. Things that can ruin me forever and get me into some real trouble. So, when he threatened to expose me and said that he didn't mind dragging me and my family down with him, I backed down. I helped him and I gave him the keys to a place we have outside the border. He planned on laying low there for a bit until all of this had died down."

After getting a clear picture of the situation and of what had gone down, Noah was ready to ask another important question. One that would fulfil the purpose of this visit, which is finding out Harold's current location. He began by thanking Olivia for filling them in before he continued on to the million dollar question. "I see. I think I understand. Thank you for telling us all of this. Now that we know he indeed came to you for a place to hide and you provided him with one, I would like to ask you where this safe house of yours is?"

Olivia nodded and wiped away her tears from her face as she said, "Of course. I'll write it down for you. It isn't too far from here but since the reason why it was the perfect safe house is, because that country does not have an extradition treaty with this country. With our law enforcement having no jurisdiction there and them not extraditing anyone, he has become untouchable for the law over there."
