After having read Harold's file on the shadow's tablet, Noah got up and said, "Let's go. We got what we came for. There is not much else to do here for us." The shadow was surprised at Noah's sudden announcement and said, "But don't you want to wait until my supervisor get here? He is on his way here as we speak and should be here any minute now."
Noah did not seem too impressed nor interest and simply said in a calm voice, "You can stay if you want but I am leaving. Even when he get here, there is not much we can do. He can make sure that Harold isn't released on bail and inform us of the rest. Since there is nothing I can contribute to the current situation here, I would rather return to my wife and friends to see how they are doing and see if I can assist in getting the rest of that scum secured behind bars as well. Or did you forget that Harold wasn't the only one that was responsible for the mess we are in? For one I need to find a fitting punishment for that little rat Olivia and I need to check-up on your buddy as well as Max. None of those things need to be done from here. So, I might as well start my journey back home."
After he said that, Noah turned around and started walking towards the exit. Not having much to argue back with, the shadow looked at Noah's back for a bit as he was leaving, before she conceded and got up as well to follow him out the door. While speeding her steps to catch up to Noah's broad strides, she grabbed her phone to call her supervisor. When he picked up, she informed him of their change in plans and Noah's requests. But while she was feeling a bit anxious to tell her supervisor that they would be leaving before his arrival, as it felt disrespectful in her eyes to someone with such a high position, her supervisor seemed to find it more amusing than insulting.
He let out a hearty laughter before he said, "What a cheeky boy that is. Leaving before I get there as he considers it a waste of his time, yet has the gall to make demands for my arrival. He has guts, I'll tell you that. But I can respect a man who wants to make himself useful during a mission instead of waiting where he cannot contribute to the situation. So, very well. You can tell him that I will make those requests on his behalf. I will update you on the situation when I leave."
The shadow nodded and thanked her supervisor for his help and understanding, before hanging up and joining Noah inside the car. Although the shadow had not said anything to Noah about whether she would be staying or joining him in leaving, it appeared that Noah had already predicted what decision she would make and had left the empty for her to take. When she noticed this, the shadow felt slightly confused as to where his strong sense of confidence came from. She stepped inside the car and took her seat as the driver as she glanced at Noah with a bewildered look on her face. Noah was as calm and collected as always and only revealed a confident, slightly cocky smile, to her before turning his face back to the tablet in his hand and continuing whatever it was he was doing.
Although Noah's smile baffled the shadow, she just shook her head as she gave up trying to understand Noah, and just started to drive back safe house. That was where the chopper was waiting for them to take them back home.
Once the shadow began driving, Noah stopped acting busy and glanced up to make one of the many phone calls he was about to make. First he decided to call Laila back and inform her of what he had discovered here and to finish the conversation between him and her, which had been interrupted by Anthony's message.
When Noah video called Laila, she was still at the hospital and answered with Maria and Steve in the background. Allowing Noah to see everyone and vice versa. He was greeted with a cheerful, "Haaia Noah!" and he replied with a chuckle and a 'Hi' back, before he said, "I see that everyone is doing well. How's the patient?" Steve glared a bit playfully and said, "The 'patient' is doing fine. He might have suffered a blow to the head but he is still sound of mind and hearing." Noah chuckled and said, "Good. You were enough of a trouble to deal with when everything was working fine. No need to add actual disabilities and the partial guilt for causing them to the barely stable work relationship we have."
Steve chuckled and replied, "'Work relationship'? You jerk. Even when I am in the hospital you can't admit that I am your friend. One day I'll make you say it to my face. Mark my words mister." Noah shrugged his shoulders and said, "Eh, potato, potato. All I know is that you are a pain in the butt and somehow you have managed to infiltrate yourself more and more into my life." But while Noah was trying to play it cool, Laila decided to give Steve the winning hand. "If you really want to get to him, you should raise the stakes a little. Why settle for the title of friend, when you can go for the status of family? If you and Maria hurry up, get married and have a daughter, we can have her marry our son. We will be connected for life and he will have no choice but to spend every holiday with you as well as every birthday or any other type of celebration for that matter."
