Like couples do

Rebecca and Anthony had arrived back at Anthony's place and had shared Rebecca's cooking, which was a huge success if you asked Anthony. But although Anthony was quite biased in that moment, actually he was biased in general when it came to anything concerning Rebecca, Rebecca was indeed quite a good cook. She had to be. She had to grow up quite fast and had been the one taking care of the meals for her and her brother for years now. That kind of practice will end up yielding its results with a capable girl like Rebecca. But as dinner came and passed, Rebecca was mostly off of the high of that proposal moment and was wondering what she had actually done and agreed to. She didn't question her feelings for Anthony. Even with all her fears and worries, she knew she cared for Anthony in a way that surpassed that of friends. But what did cause her concern, was how they had indeed skipped the dating stage entirely.

Despite her thinking that they would get used to each other, it was clear that Anthony's definition and speed of that, were different from hers. The moment she had said 'yes', he had begun holding her hand, putting his arm around her shoulders, hugging her every chance he gets. She was beginning to worry what more he would want in the next couple of days, if he was moving from nothing to doing all of this so casually in a matter of hours. Maybe it was just her fight or flight instinct kicking in, making her think more of the situation than it actually was, as the things he was doing were on a grade school level and should certainly be fine between two people who plan to get married to one another. Anthony being the clueless, loveable, innocent giant that he is, was thinking nothing of it and was just showing his affection and his happiness.

He had been waiting for the current situation to become reality for a long time and had a hard time believing it still, making him want to reaffirm it in his own way. Which to him entailed holding her hand and seeing if she would try to break away, hugging her and seeing if he would get a weirded out look. Along with this he tried to show and tell whoever wanted to hear it, that she was his. Walking around town with his arm around Rebecca, made him feel richer than a king. But the more he drew near, the more Rebecca's heart was getting out of control and the more she questioned if taking such a big jump from nothing, had been the right thing for her to do. All of this kept boiling under the surface until they sat down on the couch to watch a movie.

Rebecca had taken a seat in the middle of the couch and was waiting for Anthony to pick and start the movie. He had asked her if there was anything she wanted to watch, but her mind was too clustered to think of anything, so she had left the picking to him. It didn't take Anthony long to know which movie he wanted to watch with his new fiancé and he went for a romantic type of movie. One that he had been quite fond of for years and wanted to share with the person he hoped to lead such a life with. Well…Not entirely like that. But the way things got by the end certainly spoke to him and was his idea of the ideal romance.

Full of confidence Anthony selected the movie and played it on the TV-screen in front of them. After making sure everything was set, and they would be getting the full experience in terms of lighting and sound, he too took his seat and got ready to watch. He then glanced over at Rebecca. As he saw her sitting in the middle of the couch, legs crossed over one another and eyes seemingly fully focused on the screen, he chuckled softly before he patted on the place by the corner next to him. This seemed to catch Rebecca's attention who abruptly turned around, looking at him with a confused look on her face, making Anthony chuckle even harder. This of course didn't help Rebecca's confusion and made her expression appear even more confused than before. Once Anthony was done laughing, he looked at Rebecca as the opening credits continued to play and said in a warm voice, "Come sit with me. Let's watch it together".

Rebecca still appeared as confused as ever, or was pretending to be, as she said, "What do you mean. I am sitting with you, and we are watching the movie together, aren't we?" Anthony smiled and shook his head. "No, not like that. Come sit next to me. Sit here." Again, he patted on the narrow space between him and the couch as his feet were stretched on the table. "You feel so far away even though we are sitting on the same couch. We finally chose each other, and we became a couple. So, why don't we enjoy the movie like couples do?"
