Head Maid, Tina

Today we dress-up as if there is an occasion.  Head maid, Tina. She provided us with new clothes and some jewellery. 

I turned my head and looked at Ethan. I could say today he is truly resembling a prince. Though his appearance is always like a prince and he doesn't need some clothes to describe his singularity. 

However this fact also couldn't be denied that his clothes and accessories are leveling up his gorgeousness. His aura, his beauty is really a piece of art. 

I can't help it but feel proud and envious of him at the same time. I know I always do this, praising his light and cheerfulness and comparing myself with him.  

Here I'm again evaluating myself. However this fact can't be denied, even these beautiful clothes and jewellery are not able to cover my gloominess and dullness.  

Sometimes I wonder why I'd always compare myself to Ethan. When I get nothing but disappointment in the end. 

I should have set this to my mind that I'm a shadow of the Ethan.There only deserves darkness. 

I sighed.  

Talking about Tina's kindness. I mean the clothes that she gifted us, is not really her selflessness.   She is obeying the empress's command. She has to demonstrate that we are living in luxury in front of the emperor. 

Matter to factly, It's the empress's helplessness to spare us some piece of fabric.

We are standing in front of the door of the dining room. Tina wasn't there with us because she had an urgent matter to attend to. She instructed us to wait for her. 

Even though she is the head maid. Her position would not make her their master, she would always be their maid, no matter how higher post she would hold. But making a prince and princess wait for her is another way to show them her power and influence. 

Hopelessly, we have to wait for her, since we hold no power in the place. We have no one who would protect us. 

On the other hand, Ethan is getting eager with every passing moment. He wants to enter as soon as possible.  

However he was incapable of entering without Tina. 

Just like that, About a half hour passed but there was no sign of Tina's arrival. 

"Chrolttle, When will Tina come?  Can't we dash in without her?"  He came near me and grabbed my sleeve. While showing his big round rabbit-like eyes he asked earnestly.

I didn't want to answer. I looked at Mona who was standing next to me with a hope, she would understand my facial expression and explain to him. 

She didn't let me down. She perceived my trouble as soon as she saw my face. With a small but sincere smile Mona came forward and began to explain. "His highness! There should be a representative with you when you go before the emperor. We can not break it because It's a tradition. Since I could not enter, the Head maid would be the one who will accomplish two of you." 

"Why Tina only has permission to go there but you do not." He questioned innocently.

"Because she is the empress's aid." Mona.

"Because I'm the head maid." Tina.

Both voices resounded at the same time. Where Mona's voice was soft and smooth, Tina's voice was too loud and harsh.

We all turned our heads towards the direction where Tina was standing. She looked really angry. One could easily see the flames around her. 

If a third-party sees this situation he will definitely assume that a master has found her servants bad mouthing about him behind his back. 

Tina came near them while taking heavy steps. She shoots a deadly glare at Mona as soon as reach. 

Mona bowed her head. 

However Ethan didn't pay attention to her eyes and bravely came forward. "Why do you have to come now? You know how long we have been w-waiting." 

"Seems like I've wasted a lot of your time. Should I sit on my knees and beg for an apology? YOUR HIGHNESS!" Tina sneered. 

On the other hand, Mona raised her head and looked at Tina. There was flurrieness in her eyes while her lips were shut. 

My body also jolted as I heard 'His highness' from Tina. Tina spoke with too much respect whenever she got mad at us. Or I should say she used this phase before beating us.

My heartbeat raised. I'm scared of Tina's fierce gaze, but I'm okay if she beats me. If only she let  Ethan go, I don't want her to touch him. 

Unfortunately this time she was mad at Ethan, not me. 

"N-No I only.. I only.. saying….."  As Ethan realised what he had done.  He started stuttering because of fear. 

"You are saying what? I've gone to shorten an important task which was given to me by the empress. Moreover, I don't understand what you are trying to show Your highness. Are you trying to show you the authority of a Prince? Are you mad because a maid made you wait?" She sneered. But nothing came out from Ethan's mouth. He was standing before her while bowing his head down. 

Seeing him not answering, Tina smirked then continued. "Answer me, Your highness. Do you think your time is more important than the empress's task? You think your position is above the Queen?  Are you challenging the empress?" 

There was already pindrop silence and her words sounded like a bomb. It made the atmosphere go -10 degrees. 

Saying a five year old child was trying to stand against the empress was like a fight between a demon and a small child. 

Tina's allegations were baseless and ridiculous. 

Still, I can calculate why she is making such thoughtless remarks. She is striking on Ethan's confidence so that he is not able to raise his head before her. 

She was too obvious. 

However, I'm more captious than Tina. I was standing there like a statue when my brother was being targeted. 

On the other hand, Ethan wasn't in a good state. He was looking at Tina with his big round eyes. Tears were rolling down over his pulpy cheeks. He knew his words had been manipulated by Tina. He could never dare to go against the empress. He would never dare. 

He only wanted to ask why she was late, he didn't intend to show his power. 

"I-I don't mean t-that." With a shivering voice he tried to explain. 

"Then, What do you mean? HIS HIGHNESS?" 

Unable to watch a child getting threatened and mentally harassed, Mona decided to face Tina's wrath. "Head maid. Prince is still a child. How could he go against the empress?" 

"How could he? This thing should be asked to his mother. She should tell everyone, how could a mere maid dare to seduce the emperor. " Tina roared this time.
