At this rate, with the XP he had gotten so far, he would be able to level up before he had completed the quests. Heck, turning in the quests afterwards would bring him about halfway to the next level. It was going much better than he had anticipated. With these thoughts moving him forward, he headed off towards his next target location, Fire elementals. As this quest was harder than the wolves quest, he was sure to be able to gain even more XP from killing these things. They were located in a cave about a half mile a way, so he just leisurely made his way there, in no hurry at all. It wasn't too long before approached the cave entrance and noticed an intense heat coming from it. He didn't hesitate and entered it with strong footsteps.
As it was dark in there, he casted a fiery arrow, but didn't fire it and just left it floating above his palm. It brought him enough light so he could see where he was going. The cave was 3 to 4 feet wide and had 8 foot high ceiling. he walked for another 10 minutes before it opened up into a large circular space. He made sure not to get too close and stayed within the narrow passageway. In the space were about a dozen fiery creatures made up of all flame. They were a deep yellow with orange eyes and a orange diamond shaped core in the middle of their heads. They were about 4 feet tall, with no legs and just arms. They hovered and glided to get around. These were the fire elementals. Ares investigated their details.
Fire Elemental Level: 5
HP: 200
Flame blast: Blast an enemy with fire dealing 200% magic attack and inflicting burn, causing 25% magic attack per second for 10 seconds.
Note: Immune against physical attacks. Cannot be afflicted with a burn status or any fire related defuffs.
"Shit. No wonder this is a harder quest. Their skill is no joke. They have low HP but they must have a pretty good magic attack. I got to be careful. As long as I keep my distance and use wind boost at the proper moment, it won't be too hard to dodge their skills and I will only need 3 arrows each to deal with them. With these new boots, I can cast fiery arrow fast as hell. He got to work.
Like the other times before this, he used the same skill chain. With his faster rate of fire of fiery arrow, this fight went a lot smoother than the wolf fight. Before they noticed him, he had taken out 4 of them. They immediately threw flame blasts his way as soon as they noticed them. However, he easily dodged them with his agility and the distance between them. He continued tpo blast them from a distance. it continued without a hitch. All 12 were killed and dropped their cores. This fight granted him:
+600 XP
+1 Level
Quest completion with 10 fire cores.
+36 XP to fire arrow
+1 level to fiery arrow
+1 XP to stealth
+1 XP to chain lightning.
This fight had immediately brought him up to level 1 plus some. This was a perfect place for him to cultivate now that he had levelled up and cleared the place. But first, he wanted to see why they were here in the first place. He took a look around. On the walls of the cavern, there were bright orange crystals. he investigated and the system said they were medium level fire crystals. They were used by fire elemental beasts to cultivate. No wonder the cave was so hot, it was due to these things giving off intense heat. This was the perfect place for him as he could cultivate his fire element at a faster pace. He immediately sat down and started.
Cultivating in game was a bit different than when he did it in the real world. In game when he drew in the energy, it dispersed throughout his body instead of amassing in his chest and entering in the bead. But he still felt himself growing stronger. In 10 minutes, he got a notification saying his INT increased by +1. With this, his INT reached 8, which increased his magic attack to 80. His wisdom also reached 10 so his mana pool was now 100.
He didn't stop there. As it was the perfect opportunity to see if he could cultivate earth here, he decided to give it a go. He kept his eyes closed and reached out with his soul to see if he could sense the earth energy. he was slightly surprised to find out that he could. He used the same process and cultivated the earth energy. Again, 10 minutes later, he heard notifications from the system.
New element learned: Earth.
+1 wisdom
Earth element increased.
+1 Strength, +1 Defense, +1 Stamina, +3 Wisdom
The technique in game was already showing its terrifying ability. His wisdom in the span of a shot 20 minutes increased by a total of 5, with 4 coming from the earth element. With this done, he decided to check out his new stats and the improved fiery arrow.

With that done, he wanted to create a skill for the earth element he just learned. He sorted through his memories for a bit to decide on one and chose one in a few minutes. He created it just like how he created the other skills. This was the new skill.

Satisfied, Ares left the cave and continued onto the last target, the wind elementals. It wasn't a long trip, a 10 minute walk. The wind elementals were the same as the fire elementals but were faster and used wind to attack (of course, duh). This fight went off without a hitch despite them being faster. This was mostly thanks to the new skill he created as well as levelling up and cultivating the fire element and increasing his magic attack. The extra 1 second also played a critical role in the fight as well by delaying them from charging over for a bit and allowing him to deal more damage and kill more of them. All in all he had earned:
+500 XP
+30 XP to fiery arrow
+1 XP to stealth
+1 XP to chain lightning
+1 XP to Earth spikes
With the end of the fight, his quests were done, and he could now return to the guild and turn them in for his XP. He started making his way back to town while thinking of places where he could cultivate his lightning element.
