New Quests, Elemental Cultivation, and Upgrading Power

While heading beck into town, Ares brought up his map to look for any spots to upgrade his lightning that were in the areas he could go. After looking for a while he found one, that was just within the range limit of new players under level 10. It was called the valley of storms. it stormed there all the time so hence the name. He put a pin mark at the spot and closed the map. After another hour of traveling, he made it back into town. Just as he came back, someone approached him.

"The name is Argon. I am a level 1 water mage. I was wondering if you were willing join my party to hunt some monsters?" a young man asked. He was short, just above 5 feet in height. He had short blond hair, green eyes and looked to be about 16 years old. Ares looked at him and squinted, looking a bit suspicious. "Why do you want me in your party?" Ares asked. The boy chuckled a bit and then said with all seriousness. "Would you believe me if I told you I have good instincts about you?" Ares raised his brow in surprise. "What do you mean when you say good instincts about me?" he asked curiously. "What I mean is, they are telling me that you are strong and a great man to have join a hunt. Its telling me to to join you at all costs. I trust my instincts as they have never been wrong." he replied earnestly.

Ares nodded his head. "Listening to your instincts is good. Always do that. Now, mine says to trust you, but I don't trust people so easily. I will join you however depending on where you are going as I have to go somewhere important as well." Argons eyes sparkled. "I am about to head up to the area around the valley of storms. i know it is a bit dangerous but I have to complete a quest." he said. Again, Ares was surprised and let out a laugh. "HAHAHA! What a coincidence. That was the place where I have to go as well. Quite funny life is. Very well. I will join you. But first, I have to head over to the guild to hand in my quests and accept some more. I also have to do a couple other things before I can go with you. would you mind waiting for an hour or so?". Argon nodded. "No problem. I wanted to do a couple of things as well. Let's take care of our things and then meet back up here in an hour and a half. I will send you a friend invite."

A friend request from Argon popped up and Ares accepted immediately. "Very well. See you in a hour and a half." Ares said nodding and walking away. "Yeah, see ya." Ares went back to walking to the guild. Minutes later he arrived and headed straight to the counters to turn in the quests. It didn't even take a minute. after handing in all 5 quests he had earned another 750 XP, 75 silver as well as reputation with the two NPCs. He was now passed halfway to level 2. this next trip should get him to almost level 3 if not level 3. Afterwards, he went over to the quest boards and accepted 5 general kill quests. These quests only required one to kill any beast, no specific monster required. these usually came from the mayor or town official.

Quest 1: Kill any 20 beast levelled between 1 and 5. Reward: 200 XP, 20 silver, +5 reputation with the mayor. No punishment. Required level: 1-5. Quest Difficulty: E

Quest 2: Kill any 40 beast levelled between 1 and 5. Reward: 400 XP, 20 silver, +5 reputation with the mayor. No punishment. Required level: 1-5. Quest Difficulty: D

Quest 3: Kill any 80 beast levelled between 1 and 5. Reward: 800 XP, 20 silver, +5 reputation with the mayor. No punishment. Required level: 1-5. Quest Difficulty: C

Quest 4: Kill any 160 beast levelled between 1 and 5. Reward: 1600 XP, 20 silver, +5 reputation with the mayor. No punishment. Required level: 1-5. Quest Difficulty: B

Quest 5: Kill any 500 beast levelled between 1 and 5. Reward: 4000 XP, 20 silver, +5 reputation with the mayor. No punishment. Required level: 1-5. Quest Difficulty: A

The quests were not hard, it was just that it would take a while to kill the number of beasts required. These 5 quests would be able to boost his level quite a bit. Now his initial estimate of how high his level would be upon completion was completely wrong. Now he could easily reach level 5 or 6 at the end of it. Now that the quest situation has been solved, it was time for him to cultivate the other elements he could right now, which were light, and wind. he would have to wait until darkness for darkness. He would cultivate lightning and water at the valley of storms.

He went back to the spot he cultivated fire earlier, sat down and started with the wind cultivation. 10 minutes later he heard the notification that his INT and AGI went up by 1 as well as his WIS went up by 2. He then switched to cultivating the light element. Again, 10 minutes later, he was notified that his AGI went up by 1 more and his WIS up by another 1 as well. In all his WIS increased by 3, his agility by 2, and his INT by 1. Now, his mana pool stood at 170, his magic attack at 90, and his agility at 9. His combat power increased by 12 to 269. Satisfied, he looked at the time. He still had another hour before he met up with Argon. So he decided to walk around a bit and buy some mana potions from the potions shop just in case as well as some to restore his HP. he didn't think he would need it, but he wanted be prepared in case anything happened.

10 minutes later, he bought what he needed. he got 5 of each. It cost him a total of 20 silver. The mana potions restored 50 instantly and the HP potions restored 100 instantly. After he was done with his shopping, he sent out a message to Argon saying that he finished up early and he would be waiting at the spot he met him when he was done and ready to go. A few minutes later, Argon messaged back saying he just finished what he had to do and he would be there in a few minutes.

Like Argon said, he arrived and met up with Ares just a minutes later. "You ready?" Ares asked. "Yeah let's go." Argon replied, and sent Ares a party invite. Ares accepted and they started their way towards the valley of storms.
