Mark Smith (II)

'I wonder what he can do! He might be able to put up a fight against me! Let's hope so, I want a good fight!'

***

Fifteen minutes had passed as everyone waited for the remaining raid teams to arrive. The people were uneasy as they continued to feel the malicious energy flowing from the dungeon entrance.

*Smooch*

The mana was practically kissing the backs of their necks.

"Can we just start already?"

Mark was impatient, he wanted to see Sung-ho in action, and he didn't want to wait any longer. Mark spoke to the U.S. government officials as if he was speaking to his friends.

"J-just wait a little longer please."

"Aaahhh! Dammit!"

Mark turns and beckons to the South Korean raid team. A smile forms on his face.

"You want to enter as well, right?"

Min-seok nods in agreement. His nerves were still shaky because of fear.

"I have a question, how can you speak Korean so well?"

Hye-eun was curious. Everyone that heard her speak turned to her with terrified expressions on their faces. Not all of them knew what she said, but they all knew it was directed towards Mark.

"I can speak eight languages: Russian, English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, and German."

"Woah!"

The administrator leans in and whispers into her ear.

*"He used to work as a translator/guard for the POTUS."*

*"Oh~~~~~! Did he quit because he became an awakened?"*

Mark interrupted them.

"No, I quit because I refused to work for the next President. I discovered evidence of fraud and I didn't want to work under someone dishonest."

"Couldn't you have just exposed the fraud?"

"I did after I became a member of the Big Six."

*Vroooom*

*Skrrrt*

*Click*

*Slam*

More blacked out cars arrive on the scene. Dozens of raiders step out of the cars wearing shiny armor.

"This should be everyone. Let's begin!"

**

The raiders who had their equipment went inside the dungeon. Raiders who didn't have their equipment stayed outside and formed a large circle around the dungeon entrance.

Sung-ho entered the dungeon with the Tae siblings and three other South Korean raiders. A man carrying a broadsword and a shield, Rin Yeong-gu, another man carrying a body sized shield, Han Sung-huk, and a woman with shiny black hair carrying a mage staff, Yul Da-mi. Their armor shimmered when it came in contact with light, and their outfits matched like uniforms.

The 300 raiders all entered into a massive cave system. The raiders couldn't even fill half of the first room, the cave was immense. The area wasn't dark like most cave dungeons, the lighting was dim but everyone could still see.

Sung-ho turned to the other three raiders.

"How come all of you match?"

Da-mi speaks up.

"We're in the same guild, we are all a part of the Salvation Guild!... Oh! I've been meaning to ask you, how come you entered without any equipment?"

Sung-ho chuckled to himself.

"I've never really used any equipment. Besides, I don't need it."

"Oh! Are you a martial artist?"

Sung-ho nods his head from side to side.

"Huh? What's your profession?"

"I don't have one, yet."

*Taktaktak*

*Wobble*

*Shkshkshkshk*

"Above us!"

Yeong-gu shouts to everyone. The raiders face towards the ceilings as they see thousands of large ants and mites crawling around.

*Smash*

*Slam*

*Crash*

The insects begin to jump down onto the raiders, landing on their heads and shields.

Swords and spears are swung as mages launch various spells into the horde of monsters. Brilliant blasts of lightning and fire fill the room as the armor of various raiders begin to reflect the light.

"Augh!"

*Crunch*

The insects begin to drag raiders out into the dark areas to enjoy a meal. The sounds of cracking bones and crunching heads echo off the walls of the cave.

"Hold your ground and protect your comrades!"

Min-seok's words resonated with the group of raiders. Woo-bin was a mage type, she provided buffs for all the raiders close to her. Orange light engulfed all the raiders buffed.

"I buffed your dexterity! If you need to you can run away!"

Han Sung-huk looked ahead of him, a vast wave of insects was closing in on them.

"Everyone! We need to run!"

Min-seok notices the wave.

"Woo-bin, fire a heat wave into that group!"

A tsunami of fire launches forward. Singed corpses of monsters launch through the back of the wave. The tsunami of red and orange dissipates as soon as it reaches the middle of the horde.

"Shit! It wasn't enough!"

"Launch it again!"

A second tsunami of flame is launched from the tip of her staff.

The fire dissipates in the same spot as the last one. The horde of monsters hadn't moved, they were now blocking any escape.

"Something is blocking my attacks!"

"Shit!"

*Boom*

The wall to the left of the 300 raiders suddenly explodes as shrapnel flies through the air, killing raiders and wounding countless others.

"I came because I sensed a strong presence, but to think I would find a familiar face!"

The insect monsters retreat into the various holes and cracks on the walls.

Darkness engulfs Mark's face as he looks up at a foe he thought he killed.

"How are you still alive!? We killed you! Why are you here!?"

"Hahahaha! After I massacred all your friends, I engaged the remaining ten of you in an intense battle that lasted hours! I had a blast training with you! You ten were the strongest foes I had ever faced! Only after I killed that blonde girl did you really become strong. What was her name, Alice?"

"Gah! Die!"

Mark launched various destructive spells all at once. Lightning, fire, wind, arcane, every spell destroying and ravaging the surroundings.

Flashes of shining blue and purple from his left hand and walls of red and grey from his right.

"You should have died after you killed her! My wife! My love! You killed her!"

gasps.

'That's why!'

"Yes, yes, feed your anger! Embrace it! Give me a good fight again, human!"

*Slam*

Mark gets smacked by Spidrid, he flies through the air and crashes into a wall.

"Heuk!"

Sung-ho dashes over to Mark and pulls him off the wall.

"Wait~~~! I know you!... You're the human that killed my soldiers! Hahaha, finally! I get to avenge them!"

Sung-ho stretches his arm towards Spidrid and points a harsh finger towards him with malicious intent.

"You're dead!"

"Kekeke, I like your attitude! Prepare to die, puny human!"
