The Story of Tomorrow

Tink stuck her hands into her bag and pulled them out as Pixie Dust shimmered along her slender hands. Before waving her hands in the air, she looked at the boys, creating the scenery of her story. The boys all sat in around Tink as they watched the Pixie Dust form into the shape of an island.

Tink slowed the movement of her hands as the island shape was completed. She smiled softly, looking up towards the boys as she started to speak. The tinkling sound filled the tent and Tiger Lily helped translate for the younger boys since a fae's language was one of the most difficult to learn. Tiger Lily looked down at the island Tink had created as the soft jingling sound came from Tink

"The Gods of the worlds used to roam freely where our ancestors live and where we live now." Tink made tiny people that started to work the land and care for the island as she continued her story. This story was old, something that was around before Tiger Lily and Tink were born. "They lived amongst each other in prosperity before the Gods began fighting."

"There was a great war between the Gods and afterwards most of them went their separate ways." Tink made the small island she had created shatter into tiny pieces and fly to different corners of the room. These pieces exploded like fireworks and then the Pixie Dust vanished. After a few seconds, the island slowly came back in front of Tink all the pieces going together like a puzzle.

"Though after thousands of years living on this planet, they started to grow lonely." The boys looked at Tink confused. Binkey looked like a confused pup in the way he tilted his head. He looked down for a moment before looking up towards Tink. "Why were they lonely if they had other God friends with them?"

Tink thought for a moment before answer, she made five figures out of the Pixie Dust that stood in a circle. "While there were many Gods that lived on this planet, only a few of them stayed close to each other." Tiger Lily cut in and looked at the boys. "After the war, Each of the Gods agreed that they would all have different responsibilities and things to watch over."

The group of Gods she had created swirled around, creating a burst of light before settling, making humans. Which were much smaller than the Gods she had created before. "There were only a few at first but then they started to multiply" Tootles interrupted, excitedly as he bounced in his seat. "Did they help the Gods with their work?"

Tiger Lily nodded and looked at Tink as she spoke. "Humans somewhat took over the work of the Gods and the humans worshipped the Gods as a thanks for their creation and help in daily tasks." Tootles giggled softly as the Pixie Dust humans danced around him, showing a type of dance people did when they worshipped the Gods.

Tink chuckled softly as she continued to speak, Tiger Lily translating for the boys. "The God of Creation was out there creating the plants and the animals that roam the land now, but they weren't great friends with the God of Destruction" Tiger Lily nodded and looked towards the boys. "They rather despised each other"

"Though one day the humans grew greedy and took over the land that the Gods inhabited." The Pixie Dust grew a dark color as humans with spears chased the Gods from their homes. The boys watched intently as the shapes moved around them. The Pixie Dust making the inside of the tent glow a soft golden color.

As the Pixie Dust changed colors, the Pixie Dust's golden hue usually turned a crimson red. Tink's face watched the people she had created, they sort of looked like her friends from Pixie Hollow. Tiger Lily placed a hand on Tink's shoulder, a soft smile on her face, Tink sighed softly before continuing.

"Because of the human's greed, the Gods punished all living creatures, turning their once beautiful and prosperous land into a world of famine and death." Tink raised her hands to the sky as the small world filled with creatures of death. Flashes of villages disappearing and the crops dying as the new creatures came into the world.

The boys looked at the images worried, Nibs and Marmaduke spoke in unison as they looked towards Tink. "The humans fought their way out of all the death right?!" They moved closer to Tink as she smiled softly, ruffling Nibs hair as she made the world disappear.

"The humans on the mainland continue to live under this curse and even some creatures of Neverland are still afflicted with the Gods punishment...." She looked down towards her legs as she paused for a moment. This story always made her tear up because she knew Neverland was nowhere near peace.

The boys themselves looked saddened, but they also looked enamoured with the story that she told. Fox spoke for the first time since Tink had been there. "If Gods couldn't live in prosperity, how did they expect humans to be prosperous?" Tink looked at Fox and shrugged, she didn't have an answer.

"I do not think they assumed that every creature they made would live in prosperity but they did wish for it." Fox nodded and looked to the side as he thought. The boys looked towards Fox before back towards Tink. "Though we continue to work towards prosperity again, We will one day thrive again and be better than the creatures that came before us..."

Tiger Lily ruffled Nibs hair and knelt down beside them. "Hopefully we can make them proud to call us their creations again..." Nibs chuckled softly, knocking Tiger Lily's hands away from his head as he smiled brightly. Tiger Lily chuckled softly and stood up with Nib, softly pushing him towards the door. "Now that storytimes over go help the cooks set up for the feast"

The boys all stood up, howling as they ran out of the tent, Tiger Lily laughed and followed behind. Tink and Fox stayed in the tent though Fox stayed silent. Tink moved closer to Fox, sitting next to him as she leaned back on her hands. She didn't know what to say but as she could speak Fox spoke.

"Is what you told the boys true? You know, that Neverland will one day thrive again?" Tink smiled softly and shrugged, signing slow enough for him to understand. "I only told the story to bring hope to the boys, we will never know what will happen to Neverland till it is happening to us..." Fox watched Tink then met her gaze, what she told him actually made his fears relieved in a way.

Fox smiled softly before standing up, helping Tink to her feet as well. "Thank you." He bowed his head slightly before running out to join the others. Tink stayed in the tent, wiping tears from her cheeks as she remembered the face he made. Fox seemed relieved, she didn't know what she had said, but whatever it was worked. She helped Fox feel a little better.

Tink sighed softly as she walked out of Tiger Lily's tent, breathing in the fresh air as the wind whipped around her. She smiled and walked off to check on Pan. When she got there the healer sat inside, mixing together a type of liquid. The healer looked towards Tink and smiled softly, getting up from her work to hug Tink.

Tink reciprocated the hug and looked towards Pan, worried. "Is he going to be alright?" She signed as the healer nodded. "He should actually be up in a few hours, until then go have fun." The healer pushed Tink out of the tent, Tink wanted to stay but she knew watching Pan wasn't going to help him.

Tink bowed, thanking the healer before was went off to help the boys set up for the giant feast that was about to start. Tiger Lily was playing around with the children that were running around the camp. They were dragging along giant leaves that had animal shapes cut out of them, they bore some resemblance to a kite.

Tink smiled softly as she watched all of the boys playing around as they set up, Fox playing with them. Though she knew that he wasn't magically okay, at least he wasn't stuck in the tent alone as he had been. Tink looked around as everyone seemed happy, even though times were rough. She sighed contently as she ran off, helping the boys set up as she messed around with them.
