The Lost Boys

When they ran up to the tree, a mess surrounded the tree. Someone had been through there recently. Pan and the boys stayed hidden in a bush a few feet back as Pan whistled. This was a song his mother used to hum to him when Pan couldn't sleep. He used to hum it to some of the younger boys, but now it was their sound off.

It was silent for a moment before whistle sounds broke through the bush. Pan felt a bit of relief knowing that his boys were still there. Pan placed Tink down on the ground and told the boys behind him to stay. Pan walked through the bush, looking around to make sure that they were all alone.

It was weirdly quiet, though Pan knew that every creature in sight had scurried away. Pan was just happy that his boys were all right. A few of the boys running out and hugging Pan and it didn't take long for the rest of the boys to join in.

Pan broke from the group as the boys who went to the camp joined the others. Pan walked over to Tink who was starting to regain consciousness. He smiled softly as he knelt, picking her up. "You're home now, so rest now..." He whispered as he stood up straight, and walked towards the tree.

The boys looked at Tink worried but Tootles spoke up, a soft smile on his face. "It's alright everyone, Tink is just a little tired..." He looked around, the boys seemed less tense though they all rushed over to help Pan get Tink into her room.

Pan set Tink down on his bed, he took a few steps back as some of the boys crowded around Tink. Pan sighed softly, placing a hand on some of the boy's shoulders. "She'll be alright boys, for now, let's give her some time to sleep and go clean up..." He nodded and waited for all the boys to make their way out before closing the door behind him.

He walked out, placing his hands on his hips as he walked out with the boys. He looked around at the mess that surrounded the tree. It was mostly broken branches and leaves, but a few bones and some large pieces of scrap were scattered around. As the boys cleaned up Pan walked over to one of the older boys. "So why were you guys all outside the tree?"

The boy looks up towards Pan and sighed softly. "We thought one of Hook's men had gotten inside the tree so we fled, me and a few others stayed behind but we realized it was just a few Raggon that had found their way inside..." The boy bent down as they both started cleaning up, throwing the broken branches and leaves into the woods.

"Though once we were all outside the tree, a few of Hook's men passed through, so I signalled for all the boys to stay in the bushes." Pan nodded as he lifted up a few pieces of the heavier scraps. He sighed softly as he carried the scraps of what seemed to be wood and metal, piling them out of the way.

Pan sighed softly and looked towards the boy curiously. "Hey Thomas, thanks for taking care of the boys while I was away...especially after Tink left..." A soft smile spread across his face as he placed a hand on Thomas' shoulder. Thomas nodded and saluted as he picked up some of the scraps. "Anytime Prince..." He winked and walked off, Pan scoffed and shook his head.

Some of the boys had grown up so much, Thomas being one of them. He was one of the first boys that Pan ever brought to Neverland. Thomas was one of the only ones who ever met James before becoming Hook and one of the only boys who never had Pan's illusion on them. Thomas had always helped around the camp whenever Pan went away on missions.

Whether that was taking care of the boys, or bringing new littles over to Neverland. Pan always said that if anything happened to him, Thomas would be the one to take over. To continue the illusion of Neverland and to make sure no one else tries to take the role of Pan from the Lost Boys.

As the boys finished cleaning up, they started to set up their tables as Pan made them dinner. While Hook's men were close by, so was another fire and Pan took this opportunity to cook the boys dinner. He got out some of the Garoni that they'd picked the other day and cooked some of that with a few other vegetables. He also cooked up some fish they had in the stockpile for a few days that was still good.

Pan handed out portions to the boys after they finished setting the tables up. Everyone ate, cleaned up, bathed, and then made their way to bed. Pan sighed softly as he made his way through the tree, saying goodnight to everyone, tucking the boys in and telling short stories to some of them.

Pan made his way up to patrol, setting himself up for the night as he leaned against the tree. He made sure all the lights were turned off, that way they'd be undetectable. Though one of the lights in the tree softly flickered on before turning off again. He turned around to see what was going on but before he could, Tink walked outside. She still seemed rather tired, but at least she could hold herself up now.

Pan rushed over, guiding her over to the railing where she rested, exhaling softly as she stretched out. Pan looked towards the sky as he listened to the nature around them. Tink sighed softly as she spoke softly. "You work too much..." She had her head leaned on her arms and her eyes closed as she spoke.

Pan chuckled softly and shook his head looking down towards Tink. "Says the one who is falling asleep where she stands...." Tink smiled sleepily as she opened one of her eyes, making eye contact with Pan. "You know what I mean..." Pan sighed softly, crossing his arms as he leaned against the railing. "I know...but if I don't work as hard as I do, who will?" He glanced down towards Tink who looked rather relaxed.

Pan sighed softly and walked over towards Tink, picking her off the railing as he carried her back to her bed. "Sleep..." He kissed Tink's forehead, dreams flooding Tink's view as she blissfully slept. Pan looked around at Tink and some of the boys before he made his way out of the room.
