Chapter 06: Crown Prince Mark

"A doctor from Eclair will be the one who is going to cure you."

"When?" The prince asked as he gripped his wooden cane.

"They will arrive next week, be patient."

"How can I be patient when my right eye is slowly loosing its sight?!" His enraged voice boomed, why is this doctor taking their sweet time? He is suffering here!

The King on the other hand, rubbed his temples, his heart in pain as he sees his dear son suffering, what did he do to deserve this kind of treatment? He turned to look at his wife, reaching for her hand.

"Dear, your aunt, Queen Rhea told us to be patient enough, she is confident of the doctor's ability for the doctor is her apprentice." The Queen stated, "It's understandable that she cannot let her apprentice go immediately."

"If all things gets worse, I will never forgive that doctor." He said in a low voice, anger seeping out of him. He turned around and walked out of the room.

"Dear–"

He slammed the door close, how dare this doctor keep a prince waiting! If that doctor arrives, he will surely make the doctor suffer!

"Prince Mark, you–"

"Not now, Dylan." He sighed, "take me to the garden."

With that order, Dylan, a general and his friend took a hold at his left arm and guided him to the palace garden.

"Mark, don't be so hard on your parents, they're trying their best looking for best doctors and now they're seeking help from another kingdom," Dylan stated as they walked in a slow pace, careful enough to not give Prince Mark any difficulty, "Kingdom Of Eclair to be exact, that kingdom specializes in healing, sure enough that the doctor can cure you in no time."

They finally arrived in the garden and walked around it, the smell of flowers engulfed the men and the sun's light kissed their faces, the mellow breeze hits their hair making them smile at the feeling.

"It's been a year since I lost sight of my left eye and now the right eye's sight. I can't take this anymore, I want to go back to the barracks and guard the kingdom along with my men." Prince Mark huffed as Dylan took him to a bench to sit, "Thank you, Dylan. You shouldn't be here, you know."

"What do you mean?"

"You should be out there, walking around the kingdom, enjoying instead of being here stuck with me."

Dylan smiled sadly, he can feel Mark's sorrow, being in the state of blindness, it's very hard to have this kind of disability. He becomes depressed each day, not seeing the point of living anymore.

"It's my choice, my choice to be your friend, my choice to stay here with you, I don't want to leave a friend behind." Dylan stated crossing his arms and shook his head, this is not the same Crown Prince Mark that he knows, he doesn't have the same pride and glory that he had before, he definitely needs to stop this and Dylan is there to help him.

"Dylan, as a prince of this kingdom," Mark started, "I order you to go out there, have a break and enjoy. I will call you back when I want you to serve me again."

The order made Dylan facepalms, this foolish prince, when is he going to realize that he has a friend that sticks with him through thick and thin? Dylan will never obey his orders, he will break this, just this one time.

"No." He answered, "I will never obey that kind of selfless order, I will stay with you fool. Don't ever think about shutting me out."

Mark's lips turned to a smile, his friend really is stubborn and very loyal, he will do anything for the prince to be happy and well, he is grateful to have a friend like him.

Dylan noticed Mark's smile plastered in his face making the general raise a brow at the prince.

"Are you testing me and my loyalty, you fool?" He asked, if he really is, then he'd better take the offer! This fool!

"No!" Mark laughed at Dylan's question, "I'm just happy that I have a friend like you, Dylan. Thank you."

"Though it's really rare of you to smile, you are welcome."

The both of them took in the calmness that the garden's giving off, the spring breeze freshened them and made them relaxed.

Talking about the memories they shared before in the barracks, all those hardships and challenges, especially the hardcore training they always take from the Young General David Izamae. They smiled and pride swelled up in their chests as they remembered that they were given the title as the Great Young Soldiers of Serene and get to be a part of the army.

By the excellent work Crown Prince Mark have done, he was given 5,000 soldiers and also made Dylan Yang a 3rd rank General.

As the sunset was visible in the sky, Mark's heart clenches in sadness, he cannot see the sunset clearly now with his right eye slowly loosing its sight, he is dying to see the sunset, sunrise, and the night sky with the stars glistening with clear eyes again but all he have to do is to wait for the doctor to arrive.

Who his doctor is, it is still unknown, even his parents doesn't know who it is, Queen Rhea really made it sure that her apprentice must be hidden from the world to avoid any danger ans complications and she definitely hid it well. Prince Mark have his spies around to get information from rumors but none of them got any, they can't even get in the Kingdom of Eclair at the moment, the reason is unknown. Because of this, it reared the Prince's anger and irritation.

Whoever this doctor is must be talented enough to keep him wait or else the doctor will face the wrath of Crown Prince Mark of Serene.

"I cannot even use my powers, stupid poison."

Dylan laughed at Mark's statement, this guy just suddenly bursted out that he cannot use his power out of nowhere.

"Shut your mouth, Dylan." Mark said gritting his teeth, who does he think he is? Laughing like a maniac! Is he really his friend?

Seconds later, Dylan's laugh died down, clutching his stomach. He sighed and looked at Mark's serious face.

"Look, once you are cured, you can use your powers again. Don't be so sad about it, you clown."

"You calling me clown, you duck faced animal?"

Dylan ignored Mark's insult and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Listen, I have a feeling that this new doctor will be the one who's going to cure you." Dylan smiled at his friend.

"A feeling? I could careless about your intuition dumb head, most of them have been wrong." Mark crossed his arms, letting out a huff.

"How dare you!" Dylan gasped, putting up his offended act, placing a hand to his chest and let out a gasp that he finds disgusting as ladies would do it.

Mark laughed at Dylan's response, if the General will be stripped off from his rank he will be a great actor, perfect to be the leading lady.

"You should go home, your mother would be worried that his dear son went missing and might search the whole kingdom for you. You still haven't got yourself a lady yet." Mark stated as he stood up from his seat.

"What's the connection between mother and a partner?"

"She may worry that you'll die young, not giving her a daughter-in-law and grandchildren yet." He laughed.

"Stupid."
