"I owe you and that's what you got a human-size teddy bear."
I shot him death glare. Why does he keep putting effort to this fake relationship? After all we are not going to stay for so long.
"I will tell you when and where you can pay me but not this one." I don't have a choice but to sit next to him. He even closed the door for me.
"You don't like it?"
I didn't bother uttering a word. I don't like talking especially with him.
"What's that?" He pointed his lips at my take-out which is for my uber driver.
I put on my seatbelt and typed my address in the navigator. Then I faced the window. Luckily he stops asking and starts the engine.
Awkward envelops us. I decided to just eat these fries and burgers. I don't even have the uber driver to begin with so why not eat right?
"Oh! Fries. How sweet of you to think of me."
I didn't answer and continue my eyes wandering outside the window. Isn't ironic how many people who don't own a house yet have a home? Anyway what's home? I only know my apartment.
"Can I ask for fries?" He asked. I handed him the paper bag while my eyes are fixed outside the window.
I didn't even feel he take some so I had to face him. I was about to ask him why not he pick some fries when he speaks.
"Put it inside my mouth." He commanded like a boss and I'm his employee.
This guy, how thick is his face to actually ask me about doing it?
"Why not do it by yourself since you're the one who thought of it?" I bite my burger and turn my face to the window again.
"I'm driving," he said but basically just excuses.
"I'll drive," I suggested.
"No. My baby is precious." Him pertaining to his car. Tss.
"You can just drop me off so you can eat these fries and burger."
"Nevermind,” he said finally defeated.
I saw myself in the rear mirror grinning. I shook my head.
"You sure are hard to please." He said out of nowhere. I thought we're finished about the fries that he wants to eat.
I didn't answer again. I know that I'm hard to read no need to rub it.
"You don't have a taste at all."
"What?"
"About your ex. He's not even good looking how come you fall for that?"
This guy is really testing my patience. I breathe.
"He's far better looking than you." Where's the lie though?
"Are you blind?"
"No."
"Some said if you're ugly you are meant for beautiful. If he's good looking then you're ugly?"
"I'm beautiful." I proudly said. I know my worth and I'm beautiful.
"And him?"
"Good-looking."
"Then you're not meant to be?"
"Because we broke up."
"You can get back to each other. Just admit he's ugly."
I chuckled. How childish of him to think of it.
"Fine. I'm ugly and he's good-looking, are we good?" Now, I faced him because I keep talking while my eyes are at the road.
"No. You are beautiful and he's not good looking." He said it in front of me while his eyes trying to look for the depth of what's inside me.
I turned my eyes at different directions.
"Doesn't change the fact that everyone left me." I maybe beautiful but still people abandon me.
He chuckled that's why I consciously turn at him.
"But not this man." He said and lean forward, hold my hand that have fries in the finger. He guides it to his mouth.
"Delicious," he teasingly said.
I rolled my eyes. He and his corny lame trick.
