Chapter 4

I shook my head dismissing these paranoid thoughts and looked forward to this trek. The topmost part of PWDBR was a hilly area, from where you could see the entire park. We decided to trek there as the place would have the best view undoubtedly. We climbed steadily and notched every other tree so that we don't get lost while coming back. I must admit the climb was very difficult but ultimately with few rest stops, we managed to reach the top.

None of us paid any attention to the surroundings as we were busy catching our breaths. I was the first one to recover and glanced at the scene in front of me. I gasped because it felt as if I was in a trance. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. I could see mountains surrounding the camp and greenery as far as my eyes would allow, the mountain peaks were touching the clouds and I felt I had entered a land right out of a fairytale. I was able to see every single thing going down below in PWDBR and I just stood there taking in the view.

Sally came to stand beside me and put a hand on my shoulder and whispered "It's beautiful Emily. Isn't it?"

I broke out of my trance and nodded my head in approval.

"Oh my gosh guys! There's a lake right there! Come over here quickly!" Hessa squealed excitedly.

We all ran towards her and indeed she was right! The opposite part of the hill faced towards a magnificent lake surrounded by a rocky cliff and a light fog was all around it. If the fog was thick then we wouldn't have been able to see the lake.

We all were staring at it in awe when Maddie broke the silence by saying "Let's go down there. What say guys?"

There was no harm in it so we all readily agreed. We began our journey towards the lake. It took us some time to figure out the way but once we reached there I was convinced that it was worth that much trouble. Once again the view was magical! I feel that I would be saying this a lot because PWDBR is a place with beautiful scenery and the places we have explored so far in it have enchanting surroundings.

Ady tasted the water of the lake and it was actually pure! We played around the lake for a while when Nancy told us that she was starving and this reminded us that we were exhausted and hungry. All this trekking had drained our energy and we were looking forward to the lunch that Riya was preparing for us. Day dreaming about delicious food, we made our way towards our chamber.

By the time we reached our camping site, Riya had already prepared lunch for us and we quickly gobbled it all up.

I praised Riya for that by saying "Thank you so much Riya! That was superb and we were starving!"

"No problem and it was evident by the way you guys ate like scavengers that you all were starving!" she chuckled and rolled her eyes.

"Also you guys should take some rest. All of you look exhausted!" she pushed us in our tents.

We all muttered our thanks and slid inside our comfortable sleeping bags to take a nap while Riya cleared our remains. It didn't even take us two minutes before we were knocked out and sleeping peacefully.

I don't know for how long we slept for but I woke up to the sound of some people talking in hushed voices in front of our tents. I saw Sally getting up probably due to the same reason and she looked at me questioningly but I just shrugged, not knowing what was going on.
