Chapter 5

Shrugging the voices off, I gestured to Sally to go back to sleep as I was still tried from all the trekking we did in the afternoon. I assumed that it must have been a tree or something similar making that noise. We were woken up by Riya shouting "Guys wake up! We have to be at the bonfire in half an hour."

We got ready quickly and sat in the tent chatting when Sally asked me "Hey Em! Did u actually hear those voices?"

I nodded before replying "Yeah I did! I thought it was a dream but now when you mention it I think we both heard it. It must have been a tree or some other group of people taking a look around."

Sally agreed with me and we dismissed the topic and got involved in another conversation.

Soon it was time to go to the bonfire and all of us made our way towards the main camp. Once we were there we made ourselves comfortable and sat on the benches that were set up by the management team. There were many other groups present in PWDBR and we made many new friends.

I was talking to a girl who was around my age when Ritz tapped me on the shoulder and whispered "Emily I want you to look towards your right. There's a girl there who has been staring at us continuously. It's creeping me out!"

I looked towards the right and sure enough the girl was staring at us! She had icy blue eyes that seemed to pierce right through your body. She was a girl who had fair skin and short black hair. At that moment she stared at me and a chill went through my body and I quickly looked away.

"Just ignore her. We can't do anything." I advised Ritz.

We made sure everyone in our group was aware about that girl so none of them felt extremely uncomfortable.

"Attention campers!" Jeff held up a megaphone while standing at the centre of the camp.

"Hi I'm Jeff! I'm the manager of PWDBR. Here, at PWDBR we make sure everyone has an amazing time and there dreams do become a reality." he winked cheekily.

"So as you can see, this is the main camp where we are having the bonfire. The entire park is divided into various chambers and each group is allotted one chamber. Your chamber is your room here so use it accordingly." he paused while everyone laughed a little at that.

"We also have various hills here but the tallest hill up there contains a hidden lake!" he pointed to the hill and the crowd gasped while our group shared a knowing smile.

"Anyway the tour will be tomorrow. But for today we have something very special planned for you campers! A TREASURE HUNT!" Jeff yelled excitedly. The crowd cheered and clapped for him.

"Now the rules are simple. Each group will be given a map and you just have to follow it and find the treasure. The first group to bring back the treasure wins. And remember no cheating!"

We were handed our maps and there were directions given in it which would lead us to the treasure. Each team had a different map so no one could cheat. We set off in the direction of the hilly area as it was the first destination in our treasure hunt. On reaching the top of the hill we were not out of breath surprisingly but our legs were sore as we had been there that same afternoon. The view at night was even more beautiful than in the afternoon! It was enchanting and mesmerizing!

Nancy had the map with her and I took it from her to look for our next destination. On peering closely I found the place where the treasure was hidden was somewhere around the lake and the map was just trying to trick us into going in a circle before reaching the lake! I told everyone about my discovery and we all squealed in delight.

We started our way towards the lake as fast as we could manage and on the way Maddie said "It's a good thing we came here in the afternoon or else we would be roaming around the entire place!"

We reached the lake in fifteen minutes and sure enough we were the first team to reach there. The treasure was hidden under a rock which was placed on one side of the cliff. We collected our treasure and saw it was a kettle! We were confused as to why the treasure would be a kettle.

We took it to Jeff and he started laughing "Congratulations! You guys win!"

"But why is it a kettle?" Nancy asked.

"A kettle is very useful here. You could make tea or coffee or even boil the lake water in it!" he shrugged with a smirk.

All of us started to laugh at this but sure enough the kettle seemed to be an amazing treasure!
