Yu yans birthday

A month and a couple weeks pass and it's already Yu yans birthday, all three merchant family went to Yu family.

Lin Kai didn't have a huge birthday party like Yu yan because he didn't like the attention and usually spent it with his family, which he rarely did.

Besides Lin family and Yu family, the 3rd family in '3 merchant town', was Du family, nobody really liked Du family since they used poison techniques.

As everyone is in the booked out inn, Lin family comes in and congratulates Yu yan on her 14 birthday.

"Congrats on Miss Yu's fourteenth birthday." Lin family members said in unison.

"Hmph, I thought you were never going to come." Yu yan says while looking at Lin Kai.

"How could I miss your birthday? After all, I'm still waiting for my surprise." Lin Kai smiled at Yu yan.

"Here, I tried to find the biggest peach for you." Lin Kai said as he handed a peach to Yu yan.

After all the formalities, the Lin family members finally sat down.

After a while of people chatting and talking to each other the doors to the inn open and zhao family comes walking in.

"Congrats on Yu yans birthday." The Du members who were about Lin Kai's age said in unison.

Automatically the atmosphere got cold, although Lin family was stronger then Yu family, they still gave them respect and spoke to them formally, what Du family did was simply disrespectful.

An elder of Du family steps up, "Sorry for not showing face, it was simply the kids of our family being kids. They've been getting excited ever since my son, Du Taoyan, was accepted to underworld sect."

This was obviously planned and everyone in the party could tell that Du family was trying to use the backing of Underworld sect to become the number 1 family in '3 merchants town'.

Underworld sect was an evil sect, but nobody could stop it since it was a strong sect and the righteous sects didn't step in because even if either side won, the injuries that both sides will receive would be huge.

Although a birthday wasn't really a big deal each family would still send their kids and an elder to birthdays to show respect to the other family's.

"Hmph, Underworld sect will come to pick me up in a week and they even gave me a pill to help me break through the 5 basics and enter the earth stage, and with my talent I've already broke through the earth roaming 2nd stage!" Du Taoyan said, he was using this to show that he was now the strongest in '3 merchants town'.

Although Lin Kai was more talented and could easily break through to earth roaming stage, Lin Kai was lazy and didn't have a goal that needed the strength of a earth roaming stage cultivator.

But this wasn't the goal that Du Taoyan had, he looked at Yu yan and said, "Yu yan would you like to become my women? I promise that—"

Before Du Taoyan could finish his sentence everyone could hear Yu yan say "No!"

Automatically everyone almost laughed at Du Taoyan, due to the embarrassment of getting rejected and not even telling the girl what he promised her.

"Now, now, Miss yan, why are you rejecting me? If your with me, you'll have the backing of the Underworld sect and be able to do anything you want." Du Taoyan said while grabbing Yu yans wrist.

Before Yu yan could tell Du Taoyan to let go, Lin Kai appeared grabbing Du Taoyan's wrist, "Let go of her." Lin Kai was mad at Du Taoyan for ruining this playful mood they were having.

Lin Kai was tightening his grasp on Du Taoyan's wrist, then Du Taoyan yanked his hand back.

"Hmph, if this was back then, I would've taken you seriously, but I'll just get the disciplines of Underworld sect to wipe out your family, and Yu yan if you don't want your family wiped out, I'll give you till next week to give me a straight answer." Du Taoyan said as he and his family left the party but hid his hurt hand. "He's strong." Du Taoyan thought while leaving.

Everything was silent, "Haha it seems that the party has come to an end, everyone can go back now." An elder of Yu family said awkwardly.

As Lin Kai and his family left an elder leaned into Lin Kai's ear, "Young master, will you go tell master or will you send me."

"He won't know." Lin Kai said while walking.

"What?" The elder was surprised, "what do you mean?"

"I mean I'll get rid of this pest." Lin Kai said entering his house, "If father finds out I'll kill you all." He turned to tell everyone and left.
