Fighting the enemy

Lin Kai was now a 9th stage earth roaming expert, if he wasn't lazy and liked to relax most of the time and focused on cultivation, he would've been way stronger.

But it still wasn't enough to take on a heaven roaming 2nd stage, maybe if he was a 10 stage earth roaming expert, Lin Kai would win in a 1 vs 1.

As Lin Kai and his grandma walked to the gate of '3 merchants town', he sees the underworld sects disciplines getting ready to pick up Du Taoyan.

He left his parents and everyone else from Lin family in Lin families estate, thinking it would be safer for them.

Du Taoyan saw Lin Kai and shouted to the underworld disciplines, "Senior brother! It's him, he's the one that slandered our underworld sect a week ago, I would've taken care of him but he injured me!"

Right when Lin Kai was about to say something, Yu yan runs to them and screams, "Stop!!" After taking a few breaths, Yu yan says, "Du Taoyan I'll go with you, but you must spare Lin Kai and his family!"

Yu yan didn't know how strong Lin Kai was yet and tried to use herself to protect him.

Seeing this, Lin Kai grabbed Yu yan and said, "You don't have to worry, I'll meet you at the foot of the mountain." With a cold gaze looking at the underworlds disciplines.

Tears could be seen welling up in Yu yans eyes.

Instead of Lin Kai refuting Du Taoyan's claim, he instead supported it, "I did talk shit about your sect, so, what're you gonna do about it." Lin Kai said with arrogance all over his face.

Lin Kai was already able to tell what the underworlds objective was, they wanted to take over '3 merchants town' and collect tax for a source of income.

He guessed this because if they did care about Du Taoyan they wouldn't have gave him a pill to increase his cultivation, which no matter how good such a pill like that was, it would ruin someone's foundation if even by a little bit, which may seem like nothing but could ruin people's future achievements, and the only thing besides talents that you can get out of '3 merchants town' was money.

If they just outright attacked it, no merchant would work there anymore, so they had to take control of the family's first, and Lin family was standing in their way. It was also a bold move seeing how this was another sects territory but since it sat at the border of three sects, they usually didn't care about it.

"Hmph, even how you talk is dirty, disappear from my sight, you vermin." The highest rank underworld discipline said as he launched an attack at Lin Kai.

The attack had the image of people begging for mercy and trying to make Lin Kai fall into an illusion.

As the underworld discipline thought that would be enough for Lin Kai to lose his mind and surrender, he said, "A person should know the name of there killer, I am Chen lei."

"Just what you'd expect from an evil discipline." Lin Kai jumped and sliced the illusions in half.

"Grandma, just wait for my signal." Lin Kai yelled as he went to confront the underworld discipline.

She nodded and waited, knowing Lin Kai was stronger then her and he even helped her break through to the earth roaming 1st stage.

Lin Kai uses his ability quick slash and launches an attack at Chen lei.

"It seems ill have to try against you." Chen lei said as he narrowed his eyes at Lin Kai.

Chen lei blocked Lin Kai's attack with his heavens energy, and quickly sent an attack back at Lin Kai with his fan.

This attack was a slash of evil energy, if hit, Lin Kai's energy would go crazy and he would explode.

Lin Kai jumped and dodged this attack and sent a center slash at Chen lei, but was blocked by his heavens energy shield but still left a few cracks on it.

Lin Kai landed behind Chen lei, "Alright enough playing around!" Chen lei screamed as he got mad, he sent three attacks all with different amounts of power that sent the dust on the ground into the air to create a dust cloud that covered their sight.

He punched the ground and took a piece of huge rock that was the size of a human and kicked it without damaging it towards Lin Kai's right side.

Lin Kai gets ready to block the shadow that he sees coming towards him when he hears his grandma, "Lin Kai!! It's a bluff!!"

Lin Kai backed up automatically and dodged Chen lei's claw attack.

Chen lei looked at Lin Chan's direction and said, "Tsk, that bitch. Someone kill her already!"

Lin Kai would have to change his plan since he wouldn't be able to rely on his grandma anymore, he wasn't worried about her because the only one his grandma couldn't handle was Chen lei.

"Don't worry, Senior brother, we'll take care of her." One of the disciplines said.

Lin Kai saw that Chen lei was standing still and sent a center slash and hit Chen lei's heavens shield, creating a few more cracks in it. He then rushed forward while using illusionary sword.

"Haha, you knew you couldn't beat me so you just started using basic techniques?" Chen lei said and acted like he won already.

As Chen lei went to block the sword with his fan, it disappears and he realizes that Lin Kai's hand was right next to his neck and a sword was appearing in his hand.
